Dear All, I've noticed that some FSX freeware airports installed in P3Dv2.2 have missing taxiways (one still see the yellow taxi line but the texture is grass and not concrete). It's probably due to the airport designing utility being used by the authors. Would anyone know of a general solution to that problem? Regards,

Well, P3D is a beast and i did some observations regarding the performance. For sure clouds in a combo with shadows is a fps killer. Clouds itself seems not to have that big impact. I do find it strange though that i am getting 45fps in the A36 and 60fps outside looking at the tower from 50m above the airplane. How is your performance in this area? Flightbeam must have done a great job EDIT: Still have 60fps in KIAD with overcast with or without rainn and Cloud Shadows at 80km but NO Terrain shadows, I think they are the fps killer here Michael

I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problems with Iceland Demo? All the taxiways that connect from the parking areas to the runways are transparent. The markings are there but you can see the terrain through the taxiways? Anyone else? Any solutions?

Everything is great...got everything sorted out....(whether USE POOLS=0 works...is debatable...whatever...I have it in my config and it is staying there for all the reasons of smoothness of animation it gave in FSX) Folks were right...where it isn't a good idea to run FPS unlimited in FSX (yes...debatable until the cows come home...), it sure is in P3D. It goes a major advancement to reduce stutters to almost nil. I run HT, so my value of 242 stays. I only have the following entries inserted at the top in my P3D.cfg file. The rest of it is Vanilla. I am presently in a paused flight over Central Vermont,and everything looks great from the deck, right up to my cruise of 3…

Does anybody have that combination working? I have EZDoc working in Legacy mode but ASN doesn't support Legacy mode. How'd you do it? Thanks, Gregg

For me the affinity mask trick posted by nudata see"Another Affinity Mask (Cores) Trick" has been a revolution.On my very now mediocre system Quad core 2.4 plus GTX 650 I am able to ramp up my slider settings.Using AF 15 and disable CPU 0 and then enable in Task Manager my Prepar3d v2.2 looks terrific. On my system before I shut down I have to lower my settings as I get a CTD when I reload Prepar3D next time.. My frame rates are not amazing but its smooth. I use orbx Global plus Vector plus Rex,Opus weather anf IFly 737.

I saw on the compatibility list that the Lionheart Kodiak will work in P3Dv2 but needs sound from another source, i.e. "FSX C208 or 3rd party soundset." Could anyone walk me through this process and tell me what flies/folders need to go where? I've installed it both with and without the EMT and everything else appears to work fine. Thanks, TD BTW. I really dislike the fxaa buIlt into p3d. Very blurry/fuzzy gauges. Does anyone run with nvidia inspector and are there profiles specific settings I should use?

Yesterday I bumped up the texture (because of a plane texture...) setting to 2048. I think this was the start of my chunk-block Orbx Global terrain...no focus...no autogen... This morning, on a hunch, I dropped it back to default (1024)..and lo and behold...my Global is back in its glory. I think that you can't go over the Medium Texture Setting of: 1024. For all those that (LUDO) have crapped-out graphics...are you by chance, higher than 1024?!? If so...set it back in your P3D..and then take another flight...and report what you find... That was IT! Orbx stuff needs a setting of no higher than 1024 for TEXTURE. I also have LOD set back to 9.5, and it lo…

I bought a highly regarded scenery that does not have any lights on during IMC. I would guess because somehow it isn't possible. How can LM not have addressed this issue? Training in low visibility without runway lights? What? That is insane! I believe I can change it so that the lights are on all the time which I guess I will have to do...Funny how they spend all this time on something as useless as cloud shadows in a "not for entertainment" product, meanwhile people are landing CATII with no approach lighting <_< . When the flight attendant brings coffee and drinks, I only hear her voice and the door opening. I don't actually see her hand place them in the cup holder. This truly spoils the incredible level of immersion with this amazing bird.

Maybe no one else will see this due to different PC setups... Affinity=15 uses all 4 cores and is useful in reducing some stuttering. This setting usually shows very high core-0 usage compared to the other cores. However, if you start P3D with Affinity=15 (all on), then using the Task Manager turn off core -0. Next turn core-0 on.I now see a balanced core usage and not the usual very high core-0 usage I saw with core-0 turned on. Simply put start P3D with all cores, turn off core-0, turn on core-0 and see balanced usage. The effect is unknown.

Looks like Captain Sim now have their L-1011 compatble with P3D. Has anybody tried it? I have their FSX version and really love it.

Any ideas?

Jeese I feel like I'm coming from FS9 to X - obviously the settings are a little different. Is there a guide written yet to set stuff up? I'm getting far worse performance in P3D than I am in FSX. In rural Minnesota where I fly KDLH, I'm getting about 30 unlimited. In FSX I get like 150. For software that uses more GPU this is a surprise to me. Any cfg settings I should be using?

The only major problems I have now is not being able to control aircraft lights and contrails that drop 90 degrees to the earth. I presume these are being worked on. Jim

Hi Whats the best way to record a flight in P3D. By recording a flight I'm not referring to making a video using FRAPS or Shadowplay. Instead record a flight so it can be replayed within the sim. The built in recorder has the same limitation as FSX where it does not record the surface movements. For example flaps, airbrakes, gears are out of sync during a replay.

I am off to bed now but I hope to wake up to my question, bigtime fsx simmer for a long time, pmdg etc but I have had my eye now on prep 3d, been flying X plane for 6 months nearly and it is very very very good, BUT, should I take a look at prep3d??
