  1. I had just about decided to skip the new offering from A2A because I don't usually have the time to mess with all the preflight and maint. type stuff. After reading a glowing review from a retired Chief Pilot from a Piper flight center about the feel of the plane in flight I decided to pull the trigger and give it a try. I have now gone completely Prepar3d and removed FSX and was interested in trying a new plane that was designed with the intent of using in P3D. I have only made a few short flights around NW Florida and I was amazed to say the least. I don't know what the guys over at A2A did to get the "feel" that comes through but, Other developers should be paying …

  2. This nags me. It looks so odd around Orbx Global. The airport in this picture is Nantucket(which is a pretty decent area to fly around except this. But, it looks bad at any airport. Sticks out like a sore, sore thumb.

After being away for 17yr from MSFS I purchased and installed FSX and quickly updated to DX10 and I was in the clouds enjoying every minute I was in the air, until I saw a video and I went blank, is P3d this good or am I dreaming? This is the video I saw! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHNt6KRO4X0 Thank you to all that reply.

...but doth stutter after some time. To decode that into modern English, I am trying in vain to complete a flight with the Airbus X Extended. It is as smooth as butter at first, but after an hour or so in P3D v2.2 I start to get heavy stuttering and eventually it just freezes up the sim. I have installed the AXE as recommended by Aerosoft with hotfix 1.19 and the replacement ASC.dll, made a fresh Prepar3d.cfg, scenery.cfg, and deleted the shader cache. the Nvidia profile is also default. Sliders are more or less default, with just a hint of cloud shadows. My PC is quite recent and is a high-end machine. This doesn't happen to me with any other add-on plane includi…

I'm running in virtual fsx mode for the ezca config and it does see my aircraft in p3d although I still get the message thanks

Just installed the Active Sky trial to use with my REX 4 and P3D2.2 and got some newbie questions (note I have never used any kind of weather package before) 1)How can I tell if its working (I am not seeing any real differences from by stock set up) ?although ASN seems to indicate P3D is connected 2)When I set this up within REX options I point by weather engine to the ASN.exe is this correct? - in game I select weather themes active sky - is this correct? and within ASN live weather is enabled - do I need to do anything else to get this running? 3)I do not use flight plans - but I guess ASN should work at any airport I choose to start from?

I bought P3D2 three weeks ago and I can't help but feeling a bit disappointed in it. First a lack of add on products. I discovered that most of my FSX add on didn't work in P3D2. In FSX I have a lot of ORBX regions and airports. In P3D2 I only have the regions since the airport add on are not converted to P3D2 yet. Second and more important performance. Taking advantage of the new features seem very difficult since it will hit performance very hard. I have stuttering blurries and low fps (flying in ORBX PNW). Since P3D2 is no updated FSX but new code that makes better use of the videocard I hoped for more. Finding the optimal slider settings seems very difficult. Questi…

  10. This afternoon I was flying to Charlotte from Ottawa, and about two-thirds of the way there, NIS told me to terminate all programs because it had to deal with a medium security issue (without telling me what the problem was). OK, I did what it wanted and NIS proceeded to deal with the issue. When it was done, I looked at what it did. It had deleted the P3d executable because there weren't enough people using it and it was therefore considered iffy! Luckily, NIS allowed me to recover the file and declare that NIS was not to do this again. Frans

  11. For whatever reason, my Global and Vector installations are screwed up. Several weeks ago when I tried to upgrade Vector, I was getting messages during installation that indicated it was not able to finish the installation because of conflicting paths, and other reasons. HERE"S WHAT I WANT TO DO.....PLEASE HELP. I want to completely and CLEANLY uninstall both Global and Vector, and start from scratch with installing Global and Vector. I've saved the files, but when I try to reinstall over existing programs, it goes bad again. Please give me a step by step procedure for cleanly uninstalling and reinstalling these 2 wonderful programs....which I can't fly without. …

Hello can some one help me here in the avsim forum.... I can not get any answers from the orbx site. I downloaded the ftxglobal into my prepar3dv2..both the base110 and the 120. I'm getting microstutters when I turn and getting worse fps. I was locked at 33fps before the addon, now im at 20fps. Autogen is set to normal and scenery is set to dense. It is an ASUS I7 3+ghz gaming computer. Is there a specific tweak guide for this the prepar3d v2 with orbxftxglobal addon. Or if you know any tricks on how to improve my performance I would appreciate it.

I purchased both for P3d and I am truly enjoying the experience of them in the Sim. These are top notch simulations... from the sound of air rushing by, to the feeling of flight, while you navigate. The environment provided by P3d and other top notch accessories like orbx, Rex, ezdok, trackir, ASN, and so forth.... :-D really raises immersion to new heights!..and still keeping it affordable!! Cheers.

I just installed the new drivers, and everything basically seems the same. I'm going to delete my shaders and see if I get any magical improvements. In the release notes it mentioned that it will help in CPU bottlenecked situations. We'll see... So far my CPU seems to bottleneck the same as before.

I thought I was having an issue the other day with AEC but after reinstalling Global, Vector, and new ORBX libraries I noticed what the true problem is. It seems my LOD radius is not tracking with the aircraft. I was using the top down view when I again noticed the ground looked funny on the horizon. notice how I am approaching the edge of detail. does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I thought it was an AEC issue because I am flying over Japan and China the last few days and wasn't sure what the airports should look like. Also if I save the flight and load it, the LOD is once again centered for the moment but again doesn't track with me. …

  24. I had tried HT enabled previously but used a different AM setting on my hexacore SB-E chip and didn't notice improvement. Now w/ AffinityMask=4064 I see virtual Core1 close to 100%, the other 10 texture loaders nicely balanced, all ten of them, and virtual Core0 at the low percentage use typically used by the OS. I have other apps assigned to Core0 as well, like REX4, and when I loaded GPU-z in mis-flight I noticed absolutely no hitch in the video of P3D V2.2, whereas previously the whole video would stop for 5 seconds or so until GPU-z initialized. The corroboration that I'm seeing better smoothness, better texture update rate, comes in the fact the temperature of the…

Hello all, I tried Orbx but never got a reply, busy I guess. This is my issue. I installed Orbx FTX Global and Vector with no problem, however when I tried to patch (110) FTX Global, soon as the patch started I got this message, Quote: " Setup cannot setup the following folder, \orbx\FTX_OLC\OLC_AA\Scenery". I installed Vector patches without any problem. Should I delete FTX Global and reinstall? Any idea what that message means? Any help will be appreciated........ Thanks
