Not sure where this topic goes as it covers a lot of different products. With WideFS will I be able to use ASN/SB and others on a separate PC with Prepar3d? I've tried multiple searches and all of the answers I can find are general. I know ASN can be used with simconnect yet other products I would like to use utilize FSUIPC. Thanks,

What is the really simplest way to flatten an airfield? There seems to be innumerable tools, all more complicated than I want and more sophisticated than I need - any advice on the most appropriate? I just want to flatten the ground down to the level of the runways and buildings, which are currently all in trenches :-) Thanks Keith

And it's 2.3 compatible! Anyone here who is going to get it? (You don't have to answer this, Nyxx... B) ) I will get it for sure. I am even thinking about getting PFPX too (which costs a LOT more than that entire Airbus...) This Airbus offers exactly what I want so I am looking forward to flying it!

I was just reading Robs post on Ground shadows and noticed that my P3D cfg file is located in a different position to his. Rob's config file is located in the Local folder of App data and mine is in the Roaming folder. Within that folder I also have a Prepar3D and a Prepar3Dv2 folder and that some of the contents of the Prepar3D folder appear to be the same as the Prepar3Dv2 folder. in the Appdata/Local folder I have a Prepar3Dv2 folder that just contains a shader folder. Is this normal or should they all be in the same Appdata location and the Prepar3D folder be deleted? What is it supposed to be?

  5. Hey guys, Ever since I've installed Orbx Global FTX vector, FSX starts to sporadically freeze. Especially if i minimize FSX, and come back, it will freeze for 15 secs and be fine. I did a flight across the pond tonight with the PMDG 747 and having ASN....FSX froze for a couple of times for 10-15 mins, like it sometimes does with virtual memory issues. Anyways, I guess what I'm asking, is there any optimum settings for using all this high end add-on scenery/weather tools...I have an Ailenware computer so it's a semi decent computer for FSX..... Thanks

  6. Is there a fix for the lack of AI aircraft navigation and strobe lights in P3D v2.3?

Hi all. Does Prepar3D need an overclocked CPU like FSX? Can 3.6 Ghz handle it or do I need to overclock? And last question, if I overclock over 4 Ghz, will it be a noticeable difference? Thanks

And the shadows, and the amazing graphics and the smoothness and the non flashing runways and the switching between views without the graphics taking 4 or 5 secs to catch up! I am converted! I can't believe I have had P3D for a year and this is the first time I have set it up and used it, thanks to the release of the Aerosoft A318/9. Roll on the PMDG release's.

Hello all. I have ezdok 1.17 version and it works great. But the only problem is when I try to look around in any camera, it turns back in 2 or 3 seconds. That's only happening with ezdok when I close ezdok and start a new flight the problem is gone and cameras work good. What do I have to do to fix this?

  10. Id like to do that instead of loading the entire list when I first start P3D. In FSX you could uncheck 'show all variations' and it would remember that setting each time you started FSX. Showing only favorites doesn't seem to stick with P3D after a reboot.

Hello everyone Has anyone managed to get the Elite Mel Throttle Quadrant working in Prepar3D v2.3? I posted a message and raised a trouble ticket back in January 2014 with Elite but sadly they had nothing to offer .. Now we have v2.3 I decided to post another message yesterday in the hope that it might be sorted but haven't heard anything back yet Just wondered if anyone had an answer Cheers Paul

  12. Ever since 2.3 was released I've been plagued by intermittent stutter attacks. During testing I've been cruising along at 60+ fps but every few minutes they'd drop to single figures with severe stuttering. These attacks lasted between 1 and 10 seconds before things returned to normal. I'm not a pc expert and staring at the different screens in Task Manager gave me no clue as to what was causing this. Anyway, today I thought I'd try playing with the affinity settings and in TM unchecked CPU 0 and also set Priority to High. I locked frames to 33 in p3d and set off flying. 4 hours later not a single stutter and I am now confident that I've fixed an issue that was driving…

  13. Hi all Based on early benchmarks, power consumption & noise reports, I decided to upgrade my good not-so-old 670 for a brand news MSI 970 Gaming. I now flightsim for more than 15 years, and I can say this is the first time an hardware upgrade satisfies me this way. I took the opportunity to switch my GPU (all my other hardware remaining the same) to show you the FPS boost in 3 different situations. Conditions : - nvinspector with only sparse grid multisample x8 - no other background app running appart Speedfan - each picture take without AA and with 8x AA set in P3D (so 8SGSAA with nv inspector transparency multisampling) Results…

Wondering if anyone is running it and the new patch is updating your addon gauges ok? I seem to be having an issue where the data is not being sent from the GTN to the G600 in the Carenado Seneca. I've confirmed it is working well in FSX with another user.

I don't know if it's appropriate to post this question/problem, but since I only fly P3D V2, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm currently running a clean install with no add-ons, other than planes. I did use Simstarter to configure the game, and I have a registered copy of FSUIPC. The problem that I have is that no matter what plane I use, including the default planes. Not one of them will hold altitude with the autopilot. Every single plane keeps on climbing or descending with the altitude hold button/option enabled. I did not have this problem before and I am wondering what could be causing it. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. If you need more in…

  20. The sim was running very smooth except for frequent 2-3 frame stutters. This was annoying me so to track down the problem I turned down all the sliders and any display settings that would reduce FPS. I turned off every thing I could. I then flew in circles and let the sim settles into a constant bank and pitch and watch for the stutters. Every 5-10 seconds I would get the small stutters (or long frames). I have a R290X video card and a 4790K. I figured at the lowest settings I should be able to fly a 360 without the slightest stutter. I couldn’t get rid of the stutter so I uninstalled P3D then reinstalled and flew circles with the stock P3D install. I had the e…

  21. Hi everyone, Following a recent driver update to 337.88 the stutters returned (they were present before, but now seemed much worse) and nothing I did seemed to alleviate the problem other than moving sliders to the left of their previous settings which I don't want to do! I have spent the past couple of days researching the subject (.....again!) and discovered this very interesting and informative article which I felt many of you might like to read: http://m.hardocp.com/article/2012/04/16/nvidia_adaptive_vsync_technology_review/#.U44jedq9KSN As a result I have now enabled Adaptive VSync in the NVIDIA Control Panel under Global Settings and the results are …

For anyone who has noticed the release of JustFlight's DC-8, I just wanted to post that it works fine in Prepar3D v1.4. It doesn't come with a P3D installer, I used the Estonia Migrator tool, but I'm sure other methods will work just as well. There is no issue with it's functionality in P3D as I have seen yet. There are some bugs that they will have to fix with it, but overall it's a pretty descent aircraft. It beats not having one at all. External model is really good and the VC is about, to slightly less on par with Captain Sim and is what I would rate as a 7 out of 10. It does come with lots of popular liveries which is a bonus in my view. System wise at the momen…

HI guys, I am running prepar3d v2.3 with active sky next and my frames are terrible. With all settings set to low and detailed clouds enabled I am only getting 5 fps using the aerosoft airbus extended. I have followed a few tutorials on youtube regarding ASN settings and have not seemed to make any difference. My pc is OC to 4.3ghz with 16gb ram with an AMDA10-6700 apu with Radeon HD Graphics. Should I expect better frames? Cheers, Mitchjazz

  24. I use my GTN 750 with my A2A C172 and it works great. However when I load my A2A Piper Cub the GTN 750 panel opens but will not turn on. I have heard the Flight1 GTN 750 may need to see at least 10 volts from the aircraft to operate but I don't think there are any battery supplied instruments in the Piper Cub and this could be the issue. Has anyone been able to turn on one of the GTN navigation devices in an A2A Piper Cub? Is there a modification that could be made to the panel config file to fool the GTN 750 at start up?
