Does P3D v2.3 Academic facilitate droppable objects like FSX does.

Can someone help my OCD please? I installed the Katana into 2.3 and I can't for the life of me remember if this horizontal stabilizer shadow anomaly was in v2.1 or v2.2. It's only at certain angles it rears its ugly head.. I just don't recall ever seeing it before 2.3 but I could be wrong.. I just can't recall it.. Anyone else see it prior to 2.3?

For reason i dont know my FSX installation is bouncing now but the P3D version does not. Did not do that before P3D installation. No trick works Any ideers ? Latest build 1.010 updated to 1.011 Tried the load order ,ini changes and AM settings and even no overcloking with no result Thanks Michael

It seems that after one of Google's developer conferences they gave away Oprah style a little cardboard box that turns your cell phone into an Oculus Rift-like VR viewer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TppMKVtRmr4 Notice the flight simulator app shown towards the end of the video. Hi. I'm looking for a very simple B737 model to use with a home cockpit. Never use external view so all I care about are the lights in 2d panel mode. Is there any guide on how to make a P3D model with landing, taxi and turn off lights? Or even a model floating around somewhere? Regards Jonas

Hi everyone I don't know how on earth this has happened but whenever I decrease my throttles to idle the reverse thrusters deploy themselves I use the Go Flight GR-TQ6 and at first I thought it was that .... but if I use just the keyboard ... using Numerical Keys 3 and 9 to control the engines when I depress key 3 to idle it once again activates the reverse engines!! It surely has to be a setting in P3D but for the life of me I can't work out what's causing this and how to rectify it Any pointers for me would be well appreciated Cheers Paul

hELLO! Im a user of Prepar3dv2.3. I love this simulator but i have a problem with ai lights and contrails. The ai traffic lights are not very intense, and we can see the particle of strobe lights (for example) only up to 5-6 nm. (Even if we edit the "strobre.fx" the radius to "-1". ) The contrails are, sometimes "in vertical" as if they werer broken. And when they are shown on the screen, they dont do it in a smooth. not continuous.... can anyone help me? i remember, in fsx, i could see the planes while flying in the night, at least 30 km far from my plane... thanks!

I Miss My Abacus Cessna 162 - There's no way that I can find to move it over to P3D v1.4 - Have been looking at the Flight1 Cessna 162 - but I want to know if it will fly in P3D before I Plunk Down the Cash ! Ever since I've started flightsimming, I've been a huge fan of the Cessna Skymaster, a model with an own personality, that stands out from the rest. But after 4 years I would like to take a step up to another GA aircraft I can also go totally nuts for! What am I looking for: -A high quality aircraft with high quality graphics and high quality controls. Even if I'd have to pay a 100 bucks for it, I wouldnt mind, but I do want the good stuff. So i gave up and bought the video training, FS2CREW and the Dash 8 B) so i was wondering how you should load this airplane in P3D/FSX ? Many different scenarios around but i use to have the trike in the menu in FSX and the default jet in P3D and then load aircrafts from the aircraft menu. When i do so i get really strange sounds from the Dash 8 before loading a scenario departure airport . Dont know if this is normal ?. Also dont know why they did not include a C&D state like ala the NGX so you dont have to save a flight in every airport you plan to departure from. Hi, first 2.3 is very impressiv. Only thing is that clouds kill my FPS from around 60 to 8-12. Cloud textures comes from REX 4 - tested sizes 512-1024 with HDR on and off... same results Tested WX engines AS2012 and IvAp engine... same results Prepar3D.cfg is not tweaked, Just the entries from the Learning Center are added. A bit confuse to this situation cause all this things works perfect in v 2.2. There must be something wrong in my settings. Graphic Card is GTX 770 with 337.88 driver. Help is welcome :wink:

Hi I assign buttons on my saitek yoke to switch between cockpit views. i wondered if anyone else has noticed that when they press buttons on the yoke the clouds disappear . it is only a split second flash .it's especially noticeable in foggy weather . thanks for any help steve

They say: Greenland, Iceland and Scandinavia in LOD 9 (76m; standard SRTM resolution) Scandinavia in worse resolution that FSX? FSX default was 38m wasn't it? So P3D default mesh would be the same. Ok...I tried my first flight ever on the South American continent, specifically the country of Venezuela at SVCJ. I tried five times...and each time, P3D v2.3 would start loading the scenery...and when it got to texture, it loaded out to only 37 percent, each and every time...and P3D just froze...no going past 37 percent to load the flight. I tried other airports in Ven, and all were the same, P3D would go to a 37 percent load...and die. So...is this a P3D v2.3 South America bug, or is it ORBX Global...I don't know. I have noticed when flying in the Los Angeles Basin that the visibility is generally much less than the metar. For example, the metar will read 10+ SM or even 20 SM but my visibility can be 5 or less SM. Has anyone else had this experience? I have seen some videos on the youtubes where the haze caused the reduced visibility, not the clouds, but the reduced visibility was also noted in the metar. It is my understanding that the haze should be taken into account by the metar so I am not sure if this is an ASN issue or a P3D issue or neither. I have minimum visibility at 0 and maximum visibility at 75 SM. If someone else can duplicate this issue then please let me know…

Hello Prepar3d users, I am considering buying prepar3d soon but had a few questions that I wanted answered before making a decision. My question regards the default scenery in P3D. are the airports updated for stuff like ILS frequencies and airport layouts or are AFCAD files required to update them? Another question I have is, if AFCAD files are required, are they compatible with ones from FSX? Or could you please recommend a good place for getting P3D AFCAD files. Thanks in advance
