There are a few medium/larger airports for Europe made by Aerosoft and FlyTampa. There is the payware Estonia migration tool and the free Russian migration tool. To fly around Europe like FSX I would like to hub between airports like, Heatrow ( P3D ready ) , Vienna ( P3D ready ) , Schiphol, Rotterdam , Frankfurt , Charles de Gaulle, Budapest , Munich, Athens , Milan, Innsbruck, Nice, Dusseldorf ( P3D ready ), Zurich.. The P3D airports developement goes not so fast. Mathijs Kok already stated that many developers will not redesign there current products as it will be lots of work for free. And also perhaps there might released a newer version and all scenery…

Oh well. Turns out I found the solution to the "mystery". Apparently, sometimes, P3D2 installer won't install SimConnect, god knows why (?). As a result, things like Trackir and Ezdok just won't work. Unfortunately, I had to go through perils until I found the solution. Here goes: 1. Install latest SimConnect from p3d root/redist. The one inside FSX SP2 (there's a lib folder in there, inside it an msi installer file). This will fix your Trackir. 2. Open Notepad and copy-paste this into it: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> <SimBase.Document Type="SimConnect" version="1,0"> <Descr>SimConnect Server Configuration</Descr> <Filena…

I realize that this post could be in any of the forums, however since I fly with P3D I decided to post it in this forum. I must say the past 18 months have been an incredible time for us flight simmers. After wandering for 7 years without any future successor to FSX we now have an incredible platform with P3D Version 2.3. I finally have the flight sim that I have always dreamed about. With the future of PMDG supporting P3D and all the other add-ons that support P3D one could ask who needs anything more? However, we all want more. That is just our nature. I am not trying to exclude those who still use FSX or X plane but lets try to focus on the future direction of our…

I'm assuming others are seeing this since others on the P3D forum reported it and sure enough, it's dreadful. Quite frankly this is way worse for me than the performance hit in clouds that indeed does remain an issue. Now clouds appear drab, w/o contrast, don't reflect hues in sunrise/sunset conditions as they always did, and look so bland they look not unlike silhouettes in many situations now. Getting quite tired of uninstalling everything though if this isn't changed it's time to go back to 2.2. I think as w/ new Win OS', I'm going to avoid upgrading to the next full versions upon release as LM does not seem to care about doing things like making this very realist…

I am seeking advice reagrding these two add-ons. Here is a few pointers regarding my sim settings and preferences: I currently have the A2A Cherokee 180 on my P3D 2.3 sim, needless to say that I am used to detailed simulation aircraft In real life, I have flown C172N's and have completed my ground school. After 6 years of FSX I jumped to P3D. I prefer a native P3D installer and have support directly from the vendor. Everything on my current sim is P3D v.2 ready Since the Q400 just released an installer for P3D, this would be my obvious choice. The B60's installation solutions provided in this P3D forum seem simple enough and the aircraft is quite appealing. My style …

Am annoyed. I had the whole weekend ahead of me to tweak P3D but I can't open it as the licence needs to be reset! Don't make the same mistake as me. If you intend to do a fresh install of P3D onto a newly formatted or other drive make sure you UNINSTALL P3D first before formatting the drive and installing again. I didn't uninstall it - I just formatted the drive. Now I can't start P3D because it has to be fully uninstalled or the licence info won't be valid and you have to email P3D (2 business days response apparently) and wait for your P3D licence to be reset. Grrrr. Yes my own fault for being hasty but thought I'd post so you guys don't get caught out.…

I recently purchased the P3D version of Flight1's new GTN 750 gauge. At present this is a popup window in most VC's, because no one (except Milviz I believe) really has a nice 3d integration yet... I'm sure it will change. F1 included a simple config gauge which creates a 2d popup in any plane in your inventory. There are other options like auto tune course etc in the config program. I'm still an RXP user in FSX but this new GTN gauge makes me consider the FSX version.... it's that good. The navdatabase is updatable with the proper file or files (pretty much like RXP 530/430W). The touchscreen format works very well with user mouse input. While at present there …

I posted this over at Orbx but thought I'd post it here as well since there's a lot of Orbx flyers here...looking for some help. I picked up Harvey, Monroe and Fall City today. Took a trip around the airports in my C210 and they are beautiful. I started getting VAS warnings on the return trip. I hardly ever get VAS warnings...got one flying down the Thames in London...I just avoid London. Also, I had a huge VAS issue at Canberra airport that was completely eliminated by turning off the ground poly. I just noticed that Harvey and Monroe both have ground poly...wondering if it's related but I have no way to turn that off in their control panel to test. I can fly o…

I know this is a huge discussion within the FSX and Prepar3d communities but I have a high end PC and running VAS monitor with only Aerosoft Airbus x and EGLL installed I have seen many OOM and shut downs with in prepar3d. What I do is save the flight as an fxml file and run this to open the sim and the flight / vehicle I want. This way I do not receive many OOM errors but VAS still runs between 3.5 and 3.9 Gigs leaving the sim skittish :( Does any one have any use full tips to bring this down? I run on 1 monitor and an old sidewinder pro joystick. I do use REX and this does not change the VAS stats in any which way! I have tried quite a few different cfx tweeks an…

Anyone else seeing this tendency? I understand that turbulence effect was a feature but in my experience it's a bit overdone and annoying. I don't have a ton of experience in the aircraft but with a weight well within tolerance balanced fuel my Metroliner tends to make me seasick bobbing and weaving all over the place. I troubleshot it a bit and made sure accufeel wasn't the culprit but the only way I was able to get rid of it was to load a default clear skies weather theme. Aside from that using AS Next even with pretty fair weather (overcast 10knt winds 10sm vis) it seems to trigger the behavior. 5 to 10 degree swings on the artificial horizon with the ball in the …

Bummer <_< I really don't know if I should buy the CS777 for P3Dv2 or keep waiting for this new agreement between the two parties to be in effect. What are you going to do or how much longer will you wait it out?

I was messing around with the game today and figured out how to remove the LOD_RADIUS limit, you can now go to whatever value you like, I left 2.5 as the lowest value and there is no ceiling. Instructions --------------- 1. Backup terrain.dll in root P3D folder 2. Overwrite with provided terrain.dll 3. Edit Prepar3d.cfg (LOD_RAIDUS) and open game, as soon as you adjust in-game it will go back down like in FSX Download : http://filebeam.com/c92dfca33fffae56c711c56c2b3c49f6

Hi i'm thinking of getting ORBX GLOBAL but i have a few questions. 1. Is it Realistic? 2. Does VECTOR and LCEurope need ORBX Global base pack? 3. Is there another product from a different company more realistic? 4. What other companies provide Global overhauls ? 5. Would you recommend it? Thanks

What i am asking is if anyone switched from gex+utx to get ftx global, Did you see a significant difference? I cannot decide because i want to fly mostly in Canada and probably America also in GA aircraft for low scenic flights so is FTX Global worth the money to get? Does it look nice in america and Canada? if anyone has some screenshots with ftx global or regions could you post them here to help me decide and give me your thoughts on performance. Also if anyone knows some small GA airfields that ORBX has for free or to purchase could you let me know thank you.

I faintly remember a file called Traffic.bgl that was supposed to be in the Scenery/World/Scenery. I have trafficBoats.bgl and trafficCarriers.bgl . However I have no other traffic.bgl.. I have several ORBX traffic files and I do see AI at the ORBX airports ok. But non-ORBX airports show no traffic. Is there any way to get this traffic.bgl without reinstalling P3D v2.2?

Hello, just getting around to trying out my FSX addons in Prepar3d v 2.2 and I was wondering if Imaginesim airports work in Prepar3d v 2.2. I would just try them out myself but I have been running into lots of CTD when installing FSX addons but some do work, in fact most of my addons work. I also realized how many Imaginesim airports that I have and would love to have them working especially VHHH and WSSS. After so many problems and many many reinstalls from bad scenery I have decided not to add anything in unless it is specifically stated that it works in Prepar3d v 2.2. This new sim is really finicky because even if I just move a folder to Prepar3d addon folder and …

Rob Newman from Orbx has found and posted this tweak. Looks really interesting. Here's the original quote from Rob and link to forum post http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/84653-p3d-autogen-treenight-lighting-view-distance/ Hi all... I adopted P3D back at the 2.2 stage and have been a very happy camper since then... But one thing that always bugged me a little was how the autogen buildings were always visible from much further away than the trees (and subsequently, the Orbx Night Lighting). After some experimenting however, I appear to have found (what to some may be quite obvious!) a solution that works for me. Basically, the LOD_Radius in P3D…

After a clean install of 2.3, I feel like P3D has reached the point where it is superior to FSX, with the exception of heavily urban scenery. What a shame it didn't launch in this condition, but I'm sure we would have found stuff to howl about anyway. My biggest issue is that I can't get it to smoothly transition across three screens. There is always some overlap, and in turns the horizon is "broken." I have tried all of the resolutions listed in the program. Am I missing something? This was easy in FSX, you just needed the correct resolution. If you know what I might be doing wrong, please let me know!
