I updated to 2.4 using method described in AvsimForum by Rob so basically deleted everything p3d related from documents/data roaming and local and program data... well all went smooth (i think) i replaced few files, actually left the new prepar3d.cfg alone did not use my old one.. so all working fine i think... One question I made adjustments to cloud.fx the multiply by 0.5 earlier and also made some adjustments to rain.fx before update i backed up and deleted) rain.fx also backed up (but forgot to delete) cloud.fx file... after update i check for these files and rain.fx was replaced with an EMPTY rain.fx 0KB file there was nothing in it (there was no rain either ) an…

I installed P3d 2.3 and have some problems: - flying with Pro Atc-x, when I receive an approach to land, Pro Atc moving map shows the change, but P3d map (and GPS screen) don't recognize it. Pro- Atc continues vectorizing me but P3d seems to have lost the change in the flight plan. - Global weather doesn't load at all in oen P3d and say it is closed. I have the newest FSUIPC 4.936c installed and active in P3d. BTW, this FSUIPC is also present in FSX that works fine with both Pro Atc and Global Weather Weird: in CCleaner it shows with 2.01 Gb size, when it has over 39 Gb. Could it be some registry issue? Thanks Walter

Hi all, as a newbie to P3D, could someone please tell me how to get rid of the green springs, I presume they are depictions of updraughts? Thank you in advance.

Now gone over fully to prepar3d 2.4.FSX is gone for the first time since it came out all those years ago. there are issues that i'm waiting to solve .mainly updated installers to some of my payware airports (Orbx on there way and free of charge)and of course PMDG aircraft. As for prepar3d it is (for me)a whole new ballgame.so smooth and no constant CTD's.so i'm very happy with it. Just bought OpenLC europe and Global Vector, been quite an expensive swap over...but well worth it  steve

http://forum.simflight.com/topic/76833-prepar3d-v2-scenery-issues/ Burk has previously revised and released 600+ airports to accommodate changes made by LM in P3d2. He has now completed all revisions to airports worldwide and will soon release this download for existing MyTraffic Pro 5 users. The complete MyTraffic Pro for P3d2 is still in the works, but obviously getting closer to release.

The cockpit shadowing is, as a general rule, much better than in DX10. On some legacy aircraft (I mean FSX birds) the shadows show a bit too much on the window plexi panes though. I admit that this is plain nitpicking but wonder whether anyone has found a solution ?

This app looks pretty cool but not sure how well it works with P3D v2.3. It's pretty pricey at $40. http://simcontrol.net/screenshots SimControl grants users the ability to reposition aircraft instantly, change the wind and weather, fail engine components or instruments for realistic training in your simulator and much more without ever needing to get out of the captain’s chair or pause the simulation

I could really need some help on a very very strange behavior. I hope I can explain it good enough as English is not my first language. The issue started with installation of AS A318/319. After some time, P3Dv2.3 suddenly did not start anymore. I could figure out it has sth. to do with ASN and FSUIPC. I removed both entries from dll.xml. P3D did still not start (Start window/P3D closes before reaching the scenario setup window). Re-installed FSUPIC. Everything is fine again. Re-installed ASN. Started P3D: Everything is fine. BUT ONLY FOR ONE TIME. After I had done a short flight (ASN weather works) I closed P3D. Now when I want to start P3D again I am in the same %§…

I have bought this plane and installed it in both FSX and P3D2. It's a pretty nice aircraft, by the way. Everything works in FSX, but in P3D2 I have noticed that when landing there are no bump/screech sounds when you land and contact the runway. The sounds are there in FSX but not P3D2. I rechecked Flight Replica's web site and confirmed that it is advertised as compatible with P3D2. There does not seem to be a forum on their site for support. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks

Hi. I have this issue that the view from the cockpit gets very blended and makes it almost sometimes at night impossible to see ahead. Its like flying in fog. There is also a huge contrast and blend between outside and vc view. Is this normal or can i switch sonething on or off? Thanks Michael

Edit: Scratch all this. Someone reported that in LMs forums that it causes stutters. I noticed something interesting while playing with processor affinity. My configuration is 4700MQ/755M SLI/16GB. I have a no affinity settings in my cfg and SLI is set to AFR2 in Nvidia control panel. Scenario: On Runway at Halifax/Alaska with Carenado B1900D, inside VC Start P3D. Let it come up and stabilize. FPS - 24-25 Open Task manager. You will notice that CPU (or core) 0 is almost 100% and rest doing little bit. Now change affinity of Prepar3d.exe inside Task Manager to Core 2,4,6. FPS 26-28 ~ up 10% Also notice that the assigned cores are being used equally, inst…

I'm having some problems with WOAI installation. First, I tried Estonia Migration Tool and got some error it could not find file during the install. I think it cannot find the aircraft file. Second, I tried just copying the FSX exe to the P3DV2 directory. I disabled EMT and ran the WOAI installer. I still get an error it cannot find a file. Now I try to go into Expert mode of WOAI installer and can see it appears to have installed, but when I click on Airport info for an Airline, I see "could not find file 'c:\program files (X86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d\v2\scenery\world\scenery\Traff_0000_WoA_Click_Airways_Su08.bgl'. Can I just copy all the Traffic fi…

I'm assuming others are seeing this since others on the P3D forum reported it and sure enough, it's dreadful. Quite frankly this is way worse for me than the performance hit in clouds that indeed does remain an issue. Now clouds appear drab, w/o contrast, don't reflect hues in sunrise/sunset conditions as they always did, and look so bland they look not unlike silhouettes in many situations now. Getting quite tired of uninstalling everything though if this isn't changed it's time to go back to 2.2. I think as w/ new Win OS', I'm going to avoid upgrading to the next full versions upon release as LM does not seem to care about doing things like making this very realist…

Hi, I decided to give up FSX (and in due time FS9) and migrate to P3D V2.4 when it has been released. Since I never used P3D I have a question about FSX sceneries. I have read somewhere on the P3D web site that it is compatible with FSX SP2 scenery, is this still true? About installing FSX sceneries in P3D V2. I know I have to mimic FSX by creating a virtual/symbloc link to P3D installation and then can use the FSX installers. Is that all? Do all FSX sceneries function in P3D or is it a trail-and-error process? Thanks for your advice, Egbert

Hi guys, So my Prepar3D is starting to look good...like really really good. The one thing that still kills the immersion is the way cliffs are rendered just like in FSX. Does anyone know if there plans in the future to improve the way steep inclines in terrain are modeled so that the texture doesn't look so stretched resulting in a very low res look? Thanks guys!

For Austria Pro : - Go to the main atpx folder - Remove all agn files in the texture folders from : graz, linz, sbg and wien - Download the Wiener Prater from : http://members.casema.nl/gsalden/Wien_Riesenrad.rar - Install it into th escenery folder from atpx_wien - Now you have the Wiener Prater too - This looks great with Fly Tampa Vienna and Approaching LOWI X installed ( see for LOWI the Topic lightfix ) Note : I did not check the smaller airports for their nightlighting as I fly with a 737. Swiss Pro - Just point your scenery library too the folders from Swiss Pro As I have Fs Global Ultimate I have the folder Elevations disabled in…

Hi if you rule out the cloud shadows , wich is a fps nightmare , im asking myself where is the benefit of P3D 2.3. Steve dx 10 fixer has a very low VAS usage compare to P3d 2.3 , vc shadows etc. Has much has i want to love p3d 2.3, im at the point of asking myself where is this simulator going , sure there updating it , but to me it seems like there looking every where to get more perfomance, and its not really impressive . i do not know how much rabbit they can get out of this hat ,i WAS optimistic about p3d upgrading this 32 bit software , not reaaly sure a the moment since peoples have ,and my self having problem with it (big and small) , make me think FSX…
