I am just curious. How many of us are using multiple monitors for P3Dv2.x? Are multi-monitor users still minority? I think that multi-monitor users get more affected by the changes that LM team makes for each release (like clouds). If such users are increasing, it may be important for developers and their testers to take the statistic into account.

Hi,just bought the new massive scenery and it does look amazing. However my performance is slightly lower than UK2000.Gate 303 in a 737 i am having about 17-19 fps.On approach ILS 27R i am at 13-15 fps. Night dusk and day makes no difference.amazing that P3D is almost smooth down to 15 fps.VAS is close to 3.8gb just doing a 27L to 27R.no ai and autogen on dense 2048 texture though as if the airport is in HD. Feel free to give us your experience Michael

I hope I can get some feedback on weather programs to be used with P3dv2.3. I currently use REX4 w/Essential and I too experience the micro stutters. When I switch to Rex and induce any clouds or any weather the FPS drops 50% to the low teens and the large stutters surface. Yes I have turned off DT5 and set the clouds to 512 Did the Volumize task, and this did help, thanks to whomever posted it. My P3d cloud settings are set to medium. After using it I am not sure if REX4 w/Essential is the best option for 2.3. Which weather program are you using with 2.3 and are you happy with the results? I was thinking of OpusFSX so I can also gain camera movement…

I am so blown away by the sheer beauty of P3D v2.3's Volumetric Fog, HDR....you can 'feel' the heat of the sunlight coming into the cockpit, with the so subtle changes in hue, and intensity of HDR on-the-fly, and the true-to-life fog banks, that show themselves around the Great Lakes on early September mornings...is so well depicted...that well....deny me food or water, before my daily usage of P3D to set the mind.... ....GAWD...I love this..... http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/tjr http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/tjQ http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/tja http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/tjM http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/tjg ht…

I'm curious to know if anybody is using this tool to force vSync and/or Triple Buffering on. There are some threads here at avsim together with FSX/DX10 but it obviously works with DX11 too. To read this thread at the guru3D forum may help too. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=378546 I tried it and it works for me even with Windows 8.1 and I notice a quite nice increase in FPS but still not sure if it's true in any case. I've vSync/Triple buffer switched off in P3D v2 and switched on in nVidia CP but at guru3D they say this only works for OpenGL - I don't know. This explanation about vSync/Triple Buffering is also very interesting to read. http://hard…

Haven't played with the values, but I'm sure the REX team is all over this for their next update... http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=8192 All the water texture layers do animate based on wind, though admittedly they don't scroll nearly as fast as it seems like they should. We made the system fairly tweakable in hopes that the developer community would help us come up with the best values. We also load 5 different textures but currently they are all copies of the same texture, so there isn't nearly as much variation as their could be. If you want to play with the values, you can edit them in WaterConstants.xml which can be f…

Hi On my old PC, I downloaded an upgraded City of Portland from the ORBX website, and the free upgrade of YMLT (Launceston, AU). Whe I bought a new CD I downloaded the current PNW and Full AU regions. I can no longer find the YMLT free upgrade or the upgraded scenery of Portland. Have these 2 updates been incorporated in the updated regions? Robert Marton

I'm confused here. Everything that I have read has stated that Prepar3d is miles ahead of FSX, and that it runs so much better than FSX...with fewer tweaks to boot. So based off of that assumption, I spent the money and purchased Prepar3d, spent all day yesterday installing addons and setting it up. Here's the problem; I'm getting horrible fps...like 8-10 fps. I am getting around 30fps in the same situation in FSX, with higher settings and more addons. I have lowered my settings very low in Prepar3d, but I don't see the point in doing that. Am I doing something wrong here?

As I'm going to buy a new graphics card(R9 290 with a custom cooler) I thought it might be better to ask for experiences. Anything need to know about this card with P3d v2 ?

I do not see where this info has been announced here but HiFi just updated ActiveSkyNext for P3dV2.3 only - http://www.hifitechinc.com/. Might fix some problems some have been having. I just tried it out and the ground visibility was so low I had to shutdown as I was in the LAX area near mountains in the Baron58. Best regards,

Hey Guys/Gals, I recently picked up the sim and have been looking around for a way to get REX and GEX to function in P3D. Has anyone actually been able to do it successfully? I have yet to find any type of direction as to how to do it. :/ I am thinking maybe I got REX to work, based on this screen shot of the sun and clouds.... GEX however is a different story...

I've been arguing with P3D about my yoke and pedals for a couple weeks now (well once a week is all I can bear using a computer as I do for it 8+ hours a day). I've been trying to use the ch manager, which worked perfectly in Win 7 and FSX. Now I'm on win 8.1 with P3D 2.3. I disabled Win from powering them down, but still sometimes when I go into P3D, it does not see them. I also got such serious spikes (even with FSUIPC disabling the spikes), that the plane was totally uncontrollable. It also gets confused what is elevator versus rudder. I thought I was being careful about plugging them in and assignments, but the settings seem pretty bad.

Has anybody tried this? I haven't: http://www.simskunkworks.com/web/index.php/component/virtuemart/vacmi/vacmi-p3d-2.x-2.0-detail?Itemid=0 It only works with their aircraft though: LOCKHEED FRF-104 G MC DONNELL DOUGLAS AV-8B HARRIER REPUBLIC F-84 F THUNDERSTREAK I noticed that Dino Cattaneo is adding support for both TacPack and vACMI in his new plane the MB.326: http://indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com/

I'm about to make a comeback to flying simulation, I've previously flown with FSX, REX and GEX. I just have a few questions and would appreciate any adivce. 1 since Microsft no longer do FSX, what if any issues will I have with a fresh install on a new computer/ will it activate. 2 Is Prepar3D any better then FSX? 3 If Prepar3d is the way to go do I get the Academic or the Proffesional version? Any help appreciated.

I have been told that I can install the ORBX airports in P3D2 with EMT and that this work. My experience is that this is only true to some part. I have encountered these issues 1) No shadow from the aircraft at some airports 2) Missing 3D grass in some cases 3) Some for example WA56 2S1 things are very wrong 4) Problem with performance. In the best case similarly to FSX or slightly worse (but some caution here can be difficult to judge) I would like to know how I remove them from P3D2? Is it just to delete scenery folders?

OK, the CS L1011 has been out now for a couple of months for the Prepar3d Version and longer for FSX. The problem is navigation other than VOR. I have been trying to refit either a GPS or the ISG FMS to the panel of at least create a separate screen panel for them. So far, no luck and does not look like anyone else so far has been able to. When I try to add the panels, the panel once loaded will not show any digital readings. The INS on the current model is not exactly stellar to say the least, so if anyone thinks they can crack this nut please let me know. It is a great flying aircraft and looks great on P3D but sucks because it is NAV Challenged!

It's the first time I record a video like this. So I apologize in advance if you don't understand my English The immersion was better than I expected in flight sims, It was exciting, I sound like a little kid with his new toy  You'll see me trying P3D V2.3 first and then War Thunder. Thanks to Daniel Church for the P3D plugin: http://www.openroadsgame.com/pptd As Dan stated, you had to turn everything down in the graphics to reach a good amount of FPS (the display runs at 75hz, you need 75FPS at best if you want smooth head movements). I took the Aerosoft Twin Otter Extended through Hells Canyon ( http://goo.gl/maps/hqZLb ) in the FTX scen…

I just noticed that 8xMSAA gives me great AA results in v2.3, especially noticeable on panels and gauges. The results look more like what I had with v2.0 8xMSSA + 4xSGSSAA in Nvidia Inspector. The thing is now I don't start NI and apply the profile prior to starting P3D like I always did with v2.0, so I guess NI has nothing to do with improved MSAA results in v2.3? Or every time I run P3D the Prepar3D.exe profile in NI actually gets automatically applied? If so that explains the very nice AA in v2.3 since it's effectively 8xMSAA + 4xSGSSAA. If not then v2.3 has done an incredible job improving the MSAA results.
