Hi everyone, I need some quick advice. I've recently come into some money and am hoping to upgrade my PC a bit to help it get better performance out of P3D 2.5 My specs are as follows: i7-3770 CPU @ 3.4 GHz 8GB of RAM GeForce GTX 780 I was originally looking at an upgrade to a GTX 980 ti with 6GB of RAM but after a little bit of reading I am starting to think that maybe a CPU upgrade might give me better frame rates at max settings instead of a new graphics card. Hello, I am going to buy 2nd monitor and have one question. Is it possible to have a P3D running on one screen (using full screen, not window mode), and have chrome, navigraph or whatever else running on the other monitor? Thank you for help

I was thinking about getting a PMDG 737, and I was thinking that there is probably a P3D person that has both the 737 and the Q400 currently. I was wondering what the FPS difference is between the two aircraft. Reason I am asking is I get a solid 30 FPS with the Q400 and wondering if I get the 737 NG, if that will drop significantly?

I’ve recently came back to flight simulation. Setting up all my stuff, I’ve noticed that I get terrain blurries. I’ve tried the old tweaks I used back in 2.4 for blurries, which worked. However, with 2.5, they don’t seem to do anything. I’ve also tried a clean prepar3d.cfg, but to no avail. Scenery and trees load in properly, but it’s just the terrain that stays blurry until you fly right over it. I have the NVIDIA GTX 760. What do?

What is the best add on to make the night lighting better? I mainly fly in North America and not interested in buying geographical areas if don't need to. Any reviews or thoughts on GEX and UTX for P3D? Thanks!

Dear AVSIM Community I'm working currently with Prepar3D V. 2.5 and the PMDG Boeing 737-800NGX Add On. The goal is, to reproduce a quite original Boeing 737-800 Cockpit while most of the buttons and switches are real and some are displayed on a Screen in the Cockpit. Since not all of the gauges are movable to a second screen, I did my own XML Gauges which can be displayed on the Cockpit Screen. But here's the problem. While working on the Backup Harddrive, which is an Image of the original HDD, I experienced a problem with the activation of Prepar3D. One day when I turned the Computer on, the activation screen came up. I had this problem before, so i made a backup…

This oddity for FSX/P3D ... taken from the SDK: I added the layer names to match what shows up in the scenery library (image behind are regions I overlayed), but the SDK seems to have the rrcc Base backwards. The naming is actually ccrr Base ... am I confused or is this just an SDK error? Cheers, Rob.

While creating some scenery for my home airport, (San Diego, CA KSAN), I noticed some severe stutters while taking off. Every time at the the same point during take-off. Almost felt like P3D was loading scenery at that geographical moment. Naturally I thought it must be my scenery contributing to the issue. So I disabled it and kept settings a mid-level for default scenery. Guess what, still there and repeatable every time. Could a few fellow simmers try this out, set default scenery to normal, no add-ons, set AI aircraft to 0% and take off on RWY 27. Fly with a fai;y light aircraft as not to introduce an added load. Hi, I fly alot EGLL-EKCH and having FTXG-FTXOPLCEU , UTXEU2.1 and Aerosoft EGLL and Flytampa EKCH VAS is always the big issue.(and the NGX) I do feel i have found my settings to overcome it and i have a little suspicion that UTX2.1 still loads something into memory even if i have it disabled in the scenery library. Disabling everything via the UTXEU tool seems to help . Anyone else noticed this ? For the test i used only roads active/none active in scenery library . Everything else off but active inside UTX tool Thanks Michael Moe

Does anyone know how to make other aircraft (other than my own) show their contrails? - all my flying is done on Vatsim and when using FSX they always appeared, but since using P3D they never show. I have various AI packages installed such as MT6, UT2 & VIP. Much obliged for any feedback. Thanks

:o I don't know what they've done...but I need new underwear...again... My FPS have jumped by 12. Everyone of my sliders is to the the right (except AI, of course). I'm sitting here at KDCA by TropicalSim in the PMDG -800 of WestJet flair, watching my FPS hanging out with no problem at 36. I finally was able to build a new Rig for P3D. I installed all my payware aircraft and such, but I usually use the CRJ-700 or the dreamwings E-170. Is there a way to get these planes over into P3D or are there any alternative freeware for these planes on p3d?

I have the MAIW FS9 scenery for this and am trying to get it to work. It's placed above the FTX scenery but still get the FTX buildings. Even removed the Mountain Home bgl's from FTX, no luck. Do I need to create an exclude for the whole base? And will that remove those hideous, static F-18s as well? Thanks for any input. Todd

Hi, i noticed when i have SLI in "A sync" going to the menus for instance the VSYNC is holding or trying to catch my 60FPS (unlimited FPS) In SYNC the FPS to catch is 59 (which always is the big Q as windows 7 always shows 59HZ regards having change it to 60HZ) Strange Michael mMoe

Hey folks, I was going around the Nvidia forums in hopes to find an answer to the 353.30 TDR crashing when I was doing simple things like browsing on Chrome. It also occasionally happens when on P3D 2.5 and to fix I have to restart the program and then load a saved file. WHICH REMINDS ME MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FSUIPC AUTO SAVE ON. NOTHING WORSE THAN LOOSING A FLIGHT 3 HOURS INTO IT. At the moment I am seeing that most users are not showing any improvements in other games like GTA 5 and SLI support. I just did a flight from YSSY using flytampa a lot of settings ticked off to VHHH taxi2gate running an i7 3570k at 4.5ghz with a gtx titan Mytraffic set at 20% rex 4 clouds set 512 and 1024 orbx global/vector a lot of settings ticked off in vector pmdg 777 P3D v2.5 settings normal I land at VHHH as soon as vacate runway and taxi I get an OOM I don't understand with my settings being that low I get an OOM This is a complete joke as to why LM would continue updating a 32bit program and dev like orbx etc etc developing airports aircraft , and scenery that you c…

I have been running P3D2.5 successfully for last 3 months until last night after I installed FSDT KFLL into P3D 2.5 Here is what I exactly did 1. Turned off Norton Antivirus completely 2. Downloaded the installer. 3. Run the Installer as usual. 4. Load the Scenery and got the following 2 CTDs without showing the specific module that created cTD. Hi, Last time i upgraded was from I7-950 first generation to Haswell and all though frequency was only 5% faster the gain in FSX was about 30-35%. (4,2 GHZ vs 4,6GHZ) Seeing Rob having a blast in P3D at for instance EKCH at about 30-40% increase in FPS vs my system i was wondering if this is mostly comming from an newer CPU generation ? After reading all those posts regarding GEX, I have come to decision that it's time to switch (I have both UTX products already and more than happy with them) However, I have heard that un-installation of FTX products could pain-in-a-bee, since a lot of entries in terrain.cfg are at risk of washing away and mix-up. Unlike with other *cfg files, the only solution to have "clean" terrain.cfg is full P3D reinstall. Therefore, if someone has proven method to do that, you'd be much more than welcome to share
