I watched a video the other day on youtube where the creator of the video was bragging about the Orbx trees. I decided since they were cheap I would but the add on and try it. I ran the install program, and when I opened it, it said it needed to updates some files to the Orbx library. Well, that's strange because all I wanted was some trees. So I ran this update which consisted of 2,298 files that took a long time to download. I watched as the file names scrolled by and I see aircraft, trucks, vehicles, airport bgls, buildings, etc. etc. etc. So I bailed out and stopped the install. Then I took a 2 hour flight in my Q400 and 1/3 of the way through the flight, P3D starts …

I recently posted the release of YSSY in the FTX compatibility forum, only to watch it disappear. I also received a PM from one of the developers reminding me that they do not allow a "free marketing ride" off the backs of their hard work. That incident combined with JV labeling me as a troll when I complained that I could not download my purchased scenery is enough for me to conclude that I'm a nonentity as a customer. Hi Everyone, Just purchased Drzewiecki Design Extracts KEWR & KLGA from simMarket, I'm not getting any taxi lighting with or without checking the bgl box during installation. Tried registering at their forum but my gmail address keeps getting rejected, waiting on a support email I sent them. Figured I'd ask here as well. Any ideas Thanks

I installed 737 in P3d, which flied perfectly. However, a saved fly loses all settings after reopening it. I saw same thing in FSX. Is there a solution? Thanks

I am very interested in purchasing UTX USA 2.0 to go with my FTX Global but I am worried about compatibility issues. How do the textures and stuff mesh together?

Hi guys, Recently switched from FSX to P3D. I was using DX10 in FSX and was having the d3d11.dll crashes so removed the above KB fix from Microsoft which solved the issues. My question though... now that I'm using P3D, which actually uses DX11, would it be wiser to reinstall the KB or leave it out?

Hi @ll, maybe it is just me, but did 2.5 get worse when it comes to OOM? I finally got around to uninstalling 2.4 and upgrading to 2.5. My everyday sim still is FSX, simply because it works for me. So I tried to set both sims up identically, to better compare the results. I was flying around South America lately, so I used the same scenery and plane to recreate the same flight in both sims. The addons are FTX Global and Vector, Rex 4 Textures and Soft Clouds, ASN, Latin VFR SPIM, Aerosoft Cuzco, SceneryTech Landclass, FSGenesis mesh, and a small patch of photo scenery around Ayacucho. I always cut down my scenery CFG to only the active sceneries, and likewise …

Has anyone heard anymore about the development/release of this scenery title? I remember reading about it on an ORBX release roadmap for 2013, but I have not seen any further mention.

Hi Everyone, So what does POP_FREE_AUTOGEN=1 and/or 0 do in Prepar3D 2.5?... Because it certainly does not prevent Night Environment (is this not autogen) from popping up in front of the aircraft.

I've been having an incredible time. I really love simming, and I just switched back to P3d because... to me... it's by far the best experience. We get all the good stuff now with ASN, REX, FTX, PMDG, etc... I've been having the smoothest sim experience with the best visuals - and now - with the best simulation I've ever had with A2A's Comanche, and I got my first Blue Screen. Thought I'd say it out loud to the only people that would care. Bummer, but expected. I'm off to do the flight again. I7 4770 @ 4.4 780 FTW OC 16gigs Corsair I got this.

I've been thinking for a while to upgrade my current GTX Titan (1st gen) but so far I've held back not being convinced I would see much benefit compared to the cost to replace the card but now with Win10 and DX12 around the corner and with my current graphics card only supporting DX11 I wonder if this in itself would be a reason to get a new graphics card and then probably a GTX 980 Ti. Or maybe I won't have any use for a DX12 compatible graphics card as long as P3D doesn't support DX12. But still I've seen some people who tried beta versions of Win 10 reported both improved performance and an overall more smooth experience in Win10 vs Win7 so maybe some of the DX12 s…

Does my performance under P3D 2.5 seem normal to everyone else? First off, the specs i7 4790K stock @4.4ghz Titan X (upgraded from 780Ti, and not a single improvement in P3D, which has me concerned) 16gb 1600mhz memory Everything (including photoscenery) on a dedicated P3D SSD drive. I'm the type that runs nothing but MSE V2 photoscenery with NO autogen and low scenery complexity (bare minimum airport scenery etc) I'd rather have great performance at the expense of fancy addon airports at this point. Hi, Bought the Carenado C-340II for P3D, installed it, works and flys great, but light dimmer sliders for panel lights don't move or respond to my mouse. Any ideas out there why? Paul

How do I remove or disable duplicate scenery files? I have reinstalled v2.5 with the Aerosoft Heathrow extended scenery. When I load the scenery up I am clearly also seeing redundant default or FTX England EGLL scenery files, which is seeMs to be the reason my p3d is crashing within a few seconds due to an OOM error. I can't remember ever having this issue with FSX. I can't seem to find any EGLL files in my FTX folder. Highly frustrating. Anyone else having this issue?

... because I am losing the Will to Live here!!! Getting the early version(s) of EZDOK to work properly in FSX was an absolute Dog - but, I swear that, trying to get the very latest P3D-compatible incarnation to work in 2.5 is driving me over the edge!!! Well, 2.5 has been nothing but problems from the start for me. Constant OOM's. I can forget about using a PMDG aircraft at any large airport, not to mention a complex addon airport. My 2.4 install was rock solid for 6 months.....which has just proved again, don't fix what aint broken...

They were fun in FSX, I wonder why there are no aftermarket or user made missions for Prepar3d (I know is a training too and you are not allowed to have fun As a real pilot I used Prepar 3 D for IFR training but also want to have some fun.

After reading the MCP thread with great interest, I thought it would be nice to duscuss Boeing and Airbus-style CDU hardware options that are compatible with P3D. The only one I know about is the VRInsight CDU, but I know there have to be others out there. So, I'm interested in knowing what choices we have in the CDU arena. Cheers, Todd

Hello, The maule empty weight is 1723 lb and the max gross weight is 2500 lb. If I select only one pilot at 160 lb ( no hamburger fed pilot) it gives a gross weight of 2373 lb and allows only for 127 lb for fuel equivalent to 21 gal. The menu says that the max allowable fuel is 73 gal but there is seemingly to way to reach this quantity. My question is how can have more than 21 gal of fuel without replacing the pilot by a skeleton? THX

Looks like Drzewecki Miami scenery has finally been updated to work in P3D v 2.5 which is great. The thing is that I bought the scenery a long time ago and never was able to use it because it was always one step behind the P3D version schedule. I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a discount for people who bought that older version. I looked at their forums but I don't see anything and I have looked at Simmarket and no discount there either. I am anxious to use it finally but not sure that I want to pay full price for it all over again. Thanks

Just hope that some of the better Developers like Flight 1, A2A, Real Air could give us a new modern light twin that is built to high standards. I have nothing against the older aircraft but it would be nice to have something you might buy new. It just seems that all the modern stuff is being churned out by the companies just for the fast buck. Just all pretty colors and no real quality. It just kills me when these companies put out the Diamond twin which seems to be a popular aircraft in real life. I see usually the first question is about the engine and electronics.
