Well, I decided to drink the Kool aid and install the Hotfix 4 patch against my better judgement, because I read that the only thing the patch broke was ASN and they supposedly made a patch to make it work again. I installed the patch in P3D which replace a whole bunch of files etc. Now to install the ASN patch, I click on the exe file after extracting it ( I know someone will ask if I did this) and it pops up a message saying " A valid ASN version must be installed to apply this update". I ran the exe file in admin, tried several times, and no luck. So now my previously perfectly working P3D has no Active sky weather. :mad:

Hi Onlly had time to make 1 flight in p3d, but had it almost 2 years now. In FSX I had to start checking both from and dest airports had correct ils, runway heading etc, to avoid surprises on approach and landing. Just checking if I still need to do this for p3d as well, or have p3d airports been updated to ensure what your instruments tell you is the same with airport on the ground. Or do I need to to reinstall my ADE for incorrect airports Not looking for uptodate real world afcads, just one that means instruments match airport data in p3d. cheers

I'm new to Prepar3d. At the present time I'm engrossed in the PMDG 737NG. I experienced a crash today the first ever. This got me thinking about autosave. It would appear that there is no such function in P3D. How are the long time users dealing with the lack of an autosave feature?? Cheers

I don';t know what I pressed on the FMC... now when I load the 777 200..its cold and dark. I don't want this status.. I want it like when I initially installed.. Ready to go. What do I do to get that status? In cold and dark... I can't turn on the FMC/CDU to load an aircraft status. My 777-300 is ok. Short of reinstalling the PMDG 777.. what do can I do?

Hello. Last night i wasn't doing anything different other then taking pics of Sedona and getting them ready for my Thread today, i closed P3D and the last thing i done before i turned down my PC was run an update on my Anti virus, Bitfinder, this is something i do on a very regular bases. Got up this morning, clicked into P3D and got this message, clicked on it and then the second message of terror popped up, i knew i was in trouble. I installed P3D for the first time today on a brand new build system. I also installed Active sky next for P3D. The installation went fine but when I doubleclick on the icon to run ASN nothing happens. No matter how many times I try on the shortcut or in the root folder.. I reinstalled, no help. I passed ASN through the firewall but nor that helped. ASN does not show up in the task manager nither. It simply doesnt react when I try to start it. Thanks for your help

I think I accidently deleted the Default flight for P3D and now it wont fully load. I reset the CFG and nothing is working, anyone have an idea on how to fix it? Cheers!

Has anyone been able to tweak or remove this heinous effect completely. I tried replacing the v2.5 ShadersHLSL with version 2.4 and deleting shader cache, but it's still there!!! Where could this effect be coming from?!? I know disabling HDR is the simple workaround, but I like HDR and my monitor is tuned to it. Also, I'm using my own modified version of the sun tweak from the Mogwaisoft Shade forums (for FSX but works in P3D btw), and the results are nothing short of stunning. LM should be taking notes. This is with my modified sun glare tweak... This is LM version...lol

Hi everyone. I have a problem with Taxi2Gate LTBA addon scenery. Problem only occurs at night times and only at this airport. ( High resolution images) Only scenery addon I installed is FTX Global and this airport. My card is Nvidia GTX660Ti. I used to use this scenery in FSX with no problems. What am I doing wrong? I get this each time I go into FSX after having installed FTX Global, and it seems as though it's been installed, but when I go to check out the Scenery.cfg it doesn't appear anything has happened. What is going on? Am I not installing it right?

Now that I have FlightBeam's KIAD activated in P3DV25; this doubling of airport wall textures is proving difficult to resolve Yes, I have done a thorough search for anything outside of flightbeam for KIAD and came up with only one entry in ORBX stuff that I de-activated. So I am wondering about town asking strangers if they know where these old textures are coming from and they all say "leave me alone or I will call the cops" So I really need help here or in some other subforum if the moderator bumps me over.... ANd...19L had no ILS ???

Hi All: I am trying to track down a problem with fuselage lights in P3D. This has only cropped up with the Carenado Navajo and the Alabeo C404. As you can see in the attached pictures, with all lights turned off, all looks fine. When I turn on the lights, I get these white squares where the wing tip and wing inspection lights should be. I installed the later video driver, then fiddled with settings in P3D, then tried using Nvdia Inspector, not joy. The squares remain. Anyone have an idea? Hey folks, what keeps me a bit away from P3D is the point that always I fly the distance looks so flat even I have the LOD setting set to ULTRA. That looks very strange and unreal and my FSX looks a bit better. Maybe a problem is that you can't edit the distance within FSGRW where the "distance" is blocked and filled with a kind of fog. That looks kinda good for me. Also a point is the flickering of some textures. I tried it with Nvidia inspector and without. Always other planes are flickering in the distance. And the docking systems at the gate also always flickering. Looks very strange :/ Is that a gernal LM problem or more a setting/video card problem? …

Hello, I've been using P3D for a few months now, think its great and will continue to support it, however there are some strange things that maybe could be fixed if I knew how. At certain airports within the ORBX PNW scenery addon I get odd occurrences; like flying into KSEA and turning off onto the next high speed taxiway only to hit smack into a house, or while flying into Kelowna airport I see the airstrip but the taxi ways are showing as grass and the AI are at the terminals but floating 40ft in the air. Is there something I should be doing to fix this? I realize it's how ORBX and P3D interact but I'm not sure what to do about it. Cheers, Jim

After reinstalling the Javier Fernandez' USS Nimitz/Eisenhower V2 for P3d and installing the latest Hotfix for v2.5 The wakes are not flickering anymore! Must be Javier's ships only! Got excited! Happy landings!

Hi The couatl bit in the add on menu isn't showing in P3D so I can't load gsx up Is there anyway to get this to work i.e making a new DLL file etc ? Thanks

They have a lovely discount now, so I'm thinking. I own REX Essential Plus and run 1024 clouds' textures. What benefits (aesthetical and performance-wise) Soft clouds would bring to P3D? Thanks

Been running FSX awhile now and I recently purchased Prepar3d. Questions: 1. I understand my Orbx scenary will work with P3D but I will need to install the Orbxlib P3D file. Do I do this after each scenery install or after I have finished all the installations? 2. I have REX essential w overdrive installed. DO I just point the program to P3D instead of FSX or do I reinstall? Thanks

I've never been so frustrated with OOM -- even more so then FSX. I have LOD scaled down to the lowest. Autogen is at its second highest level. All the rest at the top (same settings as in FSX). I have a 660 TI OC running with 8 GB ram, Windows 7, and a 2500k overclocked to 4.6 GHz. I'm also running OPUS and notice lots of clouds when it crashes -- could this be the source? Thank you.
