So, I noticed in the latest build for AS3PD the following change: Adjusted theme reload frequency/triggers in EA+Volumetric Clouds mode for additional dynamic weather changes throughout a flight (also eliminates potential inconsistencies in conditions data compared with actual depiction) So has anyone tried AS3PD with EA and volumetric clouds slider on and letting AS3Pd control the VolumetricClouds.cfg? While TruSky is only available with the global weather theme (the weather around you is the same the world over) and not the more realistic dynamic theme, I wonder if HiFi was able to get it to be more realistic with the above change that was just implemented wit…

Hey guys I am running 5.3 with a Microsoft FFB2 joystick. I can’t seem to figure out which input option is best for a feedback joystick. So I thought I would ask what everyone is using. In V5, direct input is the default option but in V4 if I remember correctly, raw input was the default. So what is everyone running on their sim? Thanks! Oh yeah and I should note I am using FS Force, but I am having feedback issues that I didn’t have before in V4….

I know this is probably not the right place but can anyone tell me why I can't get into the PMDG forums? I am a member, I log in and it tells me there are no forums found, I contacted PMDG admin weeks ago with no answer, anyone else finding this? Cheers Rod.

I attended a funeral of a friend’s father today and afterwards we went to the Avro Heritage Museum at Woodford in Cheshire, England. For those not familiar with it this was the former site of AV Roe (later British Aerospace) where the Lancaster WW2 bomber was built and later, the Vulcan bomber. I noticed they had a flight sim setup running FSX. The system was updated to that version in 2018. The Museum was closed to the public so I couldn’t ask anyone about the simulator. The reason I’m posting here is to ask if this museum would be able to purchase a licence for P3D. Educational use seems to fit the bill; personal entertainment definitely not. I …

I downloaded the navaids World Update package off of https://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html and then went into P3D to start an evening flight from EGJJ to EGLC, loaded into EGJJ and its got default scenery loaded in with UK2000 scenery objects overlapping it as well. All other airports are fine, (ORBX, FlyTampa, MK-Studios) and uninstalling the navaids did not fix the issue, so now i've gotta reinstall all my uk2000 scenery. Only question is - should the navaids package be affecting my airports? From what i understand it should be updating VOR's, NDB's and ILS frequencies. Also, is it even worth updating P3D's navaids?

Hello everyone. I have the aerosoft a330 with Prepar3D v4.5.xxx (i don't remember the exact numbers in the xxx). I am having some fps issues with that plane only. In the other threads and forums they say it can be caused by the EFB tries to contact with Navigraph or something like that. But i don't use Navigraph charts on EFB even didn't logged in Navigraph via A3xx configurator. Is there any ways to simply disable the EFB? Or at least disable the EFB and Navigraph connection? They posted a file for EFB fix but this is for p3dv5 and for users who use Navigraph Charts so i am not sure will it work for me..

Hello, Suddenly, while flying along, in p3dv4.5hf3, the screen goes black. Says it’s reloading terrain data. Flight resumes after a few minutes. Never seen this before. No updates or changes to the sim or computer system. Has happen 3 times now. Primarily over ther west Texas desert in fsl A320. Route I’ve flown hundreds of times with no issues. I also noticed that the level of detail in the graphics setting auto adjusted itself from ultra to high during these strange events. I’m stumped. Any ideas?

I have installed LFPG v2 T2G with the updates from their site. I don't have similar issues on any other scenery.

With Aeroplane Heaven's release of their p3d catalogue, thought I'd try the very nice C-140, but when you take off, the pilots disappear. Tried taking off without clicking on the button to make them appear beforehand, thinking that when I click it when its airborne - they will appear then, but no, they just seem to want to show themselves when the wheels are touching the ground. Anybody any ideas on how to solve this problem?🤔

I’ve just acquired an Elgato streamdeck and looking to be able to find/build a profile for use with the Majestic Q400 on P3D I don’t seem to be able to find a profile anywhere. The best info I’ve been able to find is one post on the Majestic forum where someone says they are using it in conjunction with Spad.Next. It seems the streamdeck functionality is limited to the complete version priced at €90. id like to check there isn’t a more cost effective way of achieving what I want before dropping €90, especially as I won’t use most of the Spad.next functions. Is anyone already using a Streamdeck with the Q400 please? If so, are you using Spad.Next or ano…

Hey guys, I’ll keep it short and sweet, FSLabs concorde for P3D…can’t get it on their site anymore as the 32 bit version is discontinued…can I still get a copy of this anywhere??? May end up settling for the dc designs Concorde but from what I’ve seen the interior sounds are garbage..way to quiet and don’t have that intense afterburner sound the good ole fslabs concorde did. Any help would be appreciated!

France VFR released recently two new airports in France. Look very good and made for P3D V5. They are LFBD - Bordeaux Mérignac and LFST - Strasbourg Entzheim.

Hello everyone. I tried to make a flight with A330-300 from Seoul to San Francisco. Take off was pretty normal and smooth. But when i engaged the autopilot, the aircraft failed to keep managed climb or the vertical speed that i set. In the outside view, i saw the elevator is moving up and down so rapidly. It started to happen after i installed DC-8 and i am suspecting from xmltools. I am not using any external weather engines and in default weather, i set the winds and turbulence to zero at all levels. If i uninstall and reinstall, will it fix my problem or is there any other ways?

I have TAPA, MDPC, and MBPV all installed and working fine in P3D v4 but when I try to install in to P3D v5 the sim crashes on startup. I have installed in the Addons folder and added the scenery with Lorby's utility. The developer of the software tells me others have got it working just fine in v5 so wondering if that is anyone here and if you can give me some hints as to how you got it working. thanks.

I installed KSFO in P3Dv5.3 but the default airport buildings are still there. The default buildings are covering up the Flightbeam buildings. I used Airport Design Editor to create an exclude file for the entire airport but it didn't change anything. I posted the problem on the Flightbeam forum but they never reply to my posts for some reason. Jerry

After an announcement of near completion and a subsequent wait of nine months, a freeware "test version" of HAAB v2 has been released by the developer, Magnus. There may be some elevation issues, but a notable African hub has been re-visited and upgraded for P3D v4 and v5.

Since updating to 5.3 HF2 I am experiencing a significant performance downgrade. In situations where I was previously obtaining 30 plus fps I am now struggling with 25 or so. Very oddly if I disable volumetric clouds it is even worse like 20 or so. That I find hard to understand, Playing around with settings doesn't seem to change much except for scenery complexity - this seems to be the key setting. In P3D4 and previously with P3D5.2 I could set this at Very Dense but now with P3D5.3 I have to set it at Sparse to get the same performance and I get no improvement with Normal or Dense over Very Dense. Hello guys, I am thinking to pick up just Varna (LBWN) for P3D as its currently on sale. However, are there any ideas how well the performance optimization is done with justsim sceneries? Gayasim, ORBX etc have the worst optimized night lighting, and in some cases even dropping FPS during the day while landing lights are extended over the runway in extreme cases way away from the light bundles. Others, like flytampa, simwings, flightbeam seem to have no such issues. As there are no refunds for flight sim products, its unfortunately impossible to know how it will perform on your specific system. Any insight would be welcome.
