New one on me - if I dont turn on vsync and triple buffering the aircraft in spot view model shakes - hard to explain it moves in and out zooming all by itself also getting double running lights and it does not pan around camera correctly if I pan it actually zooms in first then I have to force it to start panning something very strange going on Now if I put vsnc on and triple buffering it seems ok - any ideas what thats all about - also you cant import your saved controls file created in 2.5 - has no effect on 3.0 - have to manually re-assign all the key bindings on yoke - also my saitek panels do not work in v3 - thats not good AA looks better in v3 so thats nic…

Hi all, I have a clean install of P3D v3 and EZDOK 1.18.6. All works just fine, but after a certain amount of time I lose my shortcut keys to change views within EZDOK. I have them currently setup to the top row of numbers (1-8). It's a real pain without them, and I have to quit and restart P3D to get it working again. But sure enough, it bombs out again later :( Anyone have this issue and know how to fix it? Thanks, loiphin.

When I get messages from UK ATC in P3D v3, the QNH is stated as "999". However, this was "1013" in P3D v2.4. Why the difference?

Is it possible to simply copy and past the add-ons folder from 2.5 to a location outside of the sim then install 3.0 and somehow point the add-ons folder at 3.0? My megascenery (190gig) folder is outside of 2.5...is there a way to point it at 3.0? My 2.5 is on a dedicated SSD and I plan to install 3.0 there. Once 3.0 is installed I plan to delete 2.5. I apologise if this has been discussed elsewhere. The reason for the questions is I am not always the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to this kind of thing. Thanks. Dave

Everytime I quit v3 I get this now. Any ideas? I did browse to that directory and found some stuff referencing Milviz C310 effects (I don't have the 310 installed... in fact they dont have a v3 installer yet)

Hi, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I've just bought P3D3, and before I run it, I'm just looking for some basic advice regarding AA/AF, etc settings for nVidia, with P3D3. 1. Should I use N.Inspector (works great for FSX), or stick with the standard Nvidia Control Panel? 2. Should I "override" P3D3 settings on the control panel, or use the application settings? 3. Any recommended settings for AA/AF/Vsync ? I have a a GTX670 2GB, and I use TrackIR so need Vsync working. Many thanks in advance,

I just started p3dv3 and sitting on the runway I am seeing clouds move across. I was pleasantly surprised. Never seen this till now..So do they move with the wind? Pankaj And all I am doing now is munching on the cookies and doing cloud spotting...

Hi Captains, i`m usualy absolutley happy with V3 but since i installed GEP3D and UTX Europe i have VAS Problems again Actualy i`m on a long haul flight from EDDF to KJFK with the PMDG 77F. At the start in EDDF i had 1200 MB VAS free which is great then somewhere over the Nederlands the vas dropped to 450 MB Free after i left the UK i only had 190 MB left no i m 200 Miles in front of the Canadian Cost and i only have 150 MB VAS left. I thought over the "sea" i should get a lot of vas back because there is only water. I configured UTX to the nickn utx settings guide for balanced performance and graphics. I click on the P3D icon and the splash screen appears and then nothing. I hear a click noise like it's actually starting with a knob being clicked but it's not showing anything. I check the task manager and there it is. So, I end the task and try again. Same thing. The splash screen shows and then it dissappears. P3D v3 never starts. The only fix I have seen is to go into the directory and delete the Prepar3D.cfg file which generally works. But then I have to go back in and reset everything yet again. It was working fine with all of my addons - no issues. Suddenly started happening. I have two clean installs.

Could anyone please confirm whether AI traffic is being preserved in KSFO HD in V3 when Air Traffic Manager is running? All MyTraffic6 AI is being wiped from the airport (despite the "Preserve Airport Traffic" being set in ATM). Much appreciated.

I started simming with FSX 6 years ago. Went bananas getting addons and must have spent more than I cared to think about. My system got so gunked up I turned to the late Michael Greenblatt from FSGS to clear it up. Then went to P3dv2.xx and pared things down. Only used ORBX products (all of them, and I mean all) for scenery and 10 addon aircraft from A2A, Carenado, and Lionheart. Utilities were REX textures, ASN, VOXATC and GTN 750/650. Spent a lot of time messing with the config file with various published tweaks instead of just flying. Now I'm going "Spartan" with P3Dv3. Only addons are the four A2A aircraft and GTN 750. I use Plan G for flight planning. Everything else…

i installed it into the sim but the only isue I have is the Splash/Configuration screen not appearing. Is there a .cfg tweak I need to enter somewhere? Thanks :help:

Hello everyone! Has any of you (especially Rob) managed to change the time the bloom takes to adjust in P3D v3? There does not seem to be setting any longer where one could change the TimeDelta value. Cheers Nizar

Hello, I can't seem to get the sunshine reflections on my VC in P3D3 for the same airport and location that I do get the refections/shine on in P3D2.5....my aircraft and configs are the same as I understand them...can anybody steer me in the right directions to make setting changes to get the shine back? I'm still using V2.4 and unless this was resolved, or there is a different AA algorithm that gets AA anywhere near as decent as I saw in FSX way back when, I'm likely going to hold off on moving on to V3 and hunker down until 64-bit P3D happens, if it happens. I'm also loath to give up QW757 which I use w/ FSCaptain and I understand it doesn't work in V3, QW757 that is. I have no idea of FSCaptain does. I've made peace w/ the other limitations in P3D but this is a big one especially in the USA regions during the now cloudier season. My solution has been to keep cloud draw distance to 60 and density to the lowest, and that's tolerable but still it chokes in places. I…

Hi all, I've just done a 2.4 reinstall (last resort to solve a trees-in-water problem) with just ORBX Base/Vector/EU LC installed and it's looking good. Except for a bad tree shimmering issue. I've searched for recommended nVidia Control Panel settings in the hope of improving things. I do have some of Rob's earlier suggestions but I'm not getting anywhere so far I'm afraid. I need to add that I don't use NI. Also my system is: i-2700K at 4.6, GTX 780 OC, 8Gb RAM at 1600 odd Khz (auto), P8Z68 mobo, and a 24" 144Mhz ASUS monitor. SSD's throughout. Any ideas gentlemen? Even at 100% I'm getting no road traffic in p3dv3. Seeing plenty of water craft. Vanilla install except for Rex. Anyone seeing the same? gb.
