Does anyone have the Orbx Global base pack and Vector working in PD3 V3 yet ?

I'm trying to figure out what P3D v3 is doing differently if anything than v2 for volumetric fog Here I use OPUS FSI - the METAR is 2SM BR SCT001 OVC004 At 3000 (I must be near the tops) I get some blue sky with volumetric on: And with it disabled: Why does one have blue sky?

Hi All, I was thinking of purchasing P3D V3 (historically im FSX) but i was wondering if P3D requires tweaking like fsx does? I'm currently in the process of tweaking FSX and have a very informative thread running in the FSX forum that lots of members have been very helpful with but Im thinking of getting P3D too

Hey ya'll. Still sitting on 2.5 since I upgraded from 2.4 only about 2 months ago and have it running well. The lure of the new iteration is becoming too much to ignore so perhaps within a few weeks I'll be aboard. LM's strong recommendation is to install on an SSD. Not wanting a new operating system I was thinking about smaller, 125 or so, drive that would not house the operating system and creating a folder for P3D. That would place it outside of Program Files (X86). I've read about complications with A2A aircraft when P3D is outside of Program Files, current A2A forum topic, and their fix is for P3D to go back to that folder. Dear pilots, I just purchased MT6 and have been spending the past hour trying to figure out how to install this software, without any success. I evidently read the pdf as well as tons of forums posts. I installed and opened Mytraffic Communicator Located MT6. Pressed OK Located P3D V2?? (I use V3, i never had V1 nor V2, but it automatically correctly found my V3 folder). Pressed OK Then it tells me I should click on the MANAGED PREPAR3D V2 tab the MANAGE SIMOBJECT.CFG - ONLY 2.5 OR HIGHER Well, nothing happens when I click that !! No window opens; however on the pdf it says normally a window should open and i should click on save and close..why isn't a wind…

I have P3d v3 and added the boat ai project from FSX. I have no wakes and tried to enable Bathymetry in the scenery settings and get a CTD. I have to disable bathymetry through the cfg to get P3D to restart. Thanks

The only area I fly with Orbx is the PNW... I like to fly GA aicrafts around here since there are so many small Orbx airport s here Other than that I usually fly airliners (PMDG 777) with megascenery. So do I really need FTX Global? FTX Vector? FTX LC? I don't mind them on my sim setup provided it does not hog too much resources... FPS or VAS So which of the products of Orbx is most taxing on my system? so I can decide if I want it or not? Any ideas?

I am just about to start reinstalling all of my ORBX products on a new FSX:SE setup on my new computer. I have read some of the other messages pretaining to a reinstall of Orbx products and have determined that I will follow the same suggested order: Global; Regions; Region SP's, airports, airport SP's, latest libraries. But a couple of things I still wonder about (it is becoming clear I really do not understand how FTX Central and Orbx libraries really work): 1) How will the whole FTX Central thing work given that there is FTX Central 1 and FTX Central 2? I will get both depending on which products I install and in what order, correct? Is there a way to get FTX Central …

Just noticed that in my p3d cfg file, there are no entries at all for the SimObjectPaths. How does that work then, as I wanted to add one?

An example would be the unused RW26 at EGKK Gatwick. I have default P3Dv3 AI using it, both with and without UK2000 Gatwick Extreme installed. Don't remember having this issue in FSX but could be wrong???

Hi guys, I've just installed P3D v3 with a few addons and everything is working great - now I just need to find something for the weather! I'm wondering if there are any free weather engines to provide real world weather for P3D by any chance? I know there are payware ones out there but surely there must be some free ones too? Eventually I'll just probably buy one but It would be good if there were any free ones for the time being? Cheers guys! -Yorkie

Hi, I have P3D v3 and installed 2 sceneries that are fully compatible, Aerosoft mega Rome X and Drzewiecki Design Warsaw EPWA 1.4. I found out that in both of them I have no runway and approach lights, the runways are completely dark. Further, in Rome X the taxi light are just very small dots that don't make any light. The runway and approach lights are instead ok on default airports. I am new to P3D and would really appreciate an help. Thank you!

what numbers is the nvidia driver thats is causing problems in p3d v3 i have 355.82 driver installed for my gtx 980ti is there a better driver to get for performance thanks.

Dear Fellow Simmers, I'm currently in need of some guidance and help, I'm Currently running an i7-3770k @ 4ghz (Supposedly), GTX 970, GTX 610 (More on this later), 16GB Ram, 500gb Samsung EVO SSD for OS and prepar3d, 250GB Samsung EVO SSD for Steam Games and Windows 10 64bit. On top of this I'm running 3 1920x1080p screens capable of 144hz. Currently only at 60hz due to these issues. I also have a host of addons including, orbx, pmdg, and aerosoft. Although i'm only using the ones with v3 installers currently. I haven't even began to look at the 777 as i'm trying to get the ngx to work well first. Hello all, I know there have been a flurry of threads recently with the release of v3.0, and I had posted about this issue in the P3D v3.0 tweaking thread. That said, I thought this topic deserved a thread of its own. I have been experiencing micro stutters, where the sim will pause/freeze for roughly a quarter of a second every 3-5 minutes... closer to 1-2 minutes whilst on the ground. First and foremost: has anyone else experienced this since making the move to v3.0? I never noticed these prior to v3.0 -- I never noticed them at any point during v2.5. Like LOD radius Mesh Texture And all the display settings . Somre are self explanatory like shadows or water detail, but others I dont know what they do.

I always want to have it in the upper left corner and a lot smaller than the default. Pretty sure there is a config XML for this somewhere, but I do not know where. Hello, One friend of mine just told me about the first brazilian airport made by ORBX in the lastest pack of FTX Global Freeware Airport North America and South America Pack. It's the Torres Airport - SBTR in the very south part of Brazil, just between a lake and the beach. So I downloaded and installed the pack, and got the airport, but I noticed that I don't have any photoreal scenery around like my friend screenshot showed. I updated the library with the 151001, and nothing! Tried again installing the pack (don't have an uninstall program), and nothing! Anyone can help me? Hi Guys: Not sure whats going on but have an issue when in spot plane view the aircraft abruptly zooms out then back in on its own every 30 seconds consistently cant figure out why This is a new install of V3 on a new windows 10 fresh install - did it on my last windows 10 install over windows 7 also Just to clarify V2.5 on windows 10 did not do this - stumped on this one

I just read in a Facebook group from K-Man he is running 9.5 LOD. Is that possible now by just adjusting the cfg like in previous FS versions?
