Good day, I'm just wondering what are peoples opinion on the worst FPS killer would be? example, perhaps the "shadows" etc. I'm only asking as I have recently installed a far superior graphics card to what I originally had in my system, and ever since doing so it seems my performance went down a little, where i was expecting it to go up slightly. The card installed is a GTX 660 2gb, I know its pretty low grade technology to today's standards, but i used to have a ge force 9800, so i consider the 660 a step up. believe it or not with the 9800 i was able to run the aerosoft a320 with around 25 frames, now with the 660 i only get 12 frames. Hi. After i did some flights with the pmdg 737 ngx i get this error. The scenery load extremely low (some buildings are black/runway and no runway markings until few minutes after) After loading, the cockpit stands with black parts for ex the knobs, fmc keys, etc.. i can see the pfd, fms and ap digits. With the same cfg i get about 8 fps (before it was about 28 fps) I dont remember changing or install/uninstall anything. I have tried : To move prepar3d.cfg, dll.xml and exe.xml (program data and roaming directories), both Prepar3d_Default.fxml and .wx in the local directory, scenery.cfg. Fellow Flight Simmers I recently completed an Excel chart to better compare settings for optimization for myself and a group of friends. We found the tool to be a useful visual representation. The chart includes color coded system hitters outlined by many over the years and recently compiled in Rob Ainscough's wonderful Prepar3D Guide. I have also included Rob's 3 examples for various system performance / load level combinations to compare with as well as my settings. I tried a flight from KBNA to KMDW. I noticed when panning around the ground was extremely blurry. Not sure if it's a scenery order problem or something else. Using Ftx global with vector also open lc North America. Rex TD w soft clouds also AS16. Have not updated to 3.4 yet. Using Gtx970 with 4690k.

Hi, I just tried to update P3D to version 3.4. However, I cannot start Prepar3d as it exits with an error message stating that "File MFReadWrite.dll is missing". After doing some research I found out that this is a problem with the N version of my Windows 7 and that I need to install the Media Feature Pack. Why the hell does Prepar3d need that media stuff? I don't want that on my machine. Reverting back to v3.3. Just as a heads-up to all those also running N versions of Windows...

Hi, I'm having this problem since I've re-installed P3D days ago a clean install, but P3D says now this when it's starts up: 'Scenery's remote directory is invalid: Would you like to unload this area?' When I click 'OK' I can fly but I was looking to my scenery library and I have dozens of sceneries including 'ORBX Global Base Pack, ORBX openLC Europe, ORBX Vector & ORBX EU England', ... and my scenery library list is almost empty only 'EETN Tallinn, SIMLIBS & ORBX Vector' is added... I was wandering what is the best rex addon for p3d v3 as there are so many i can't decide which to get thanks.

I went to the limited user support forum at Orbx to ask why I can't find the general aviation ai program for North America. I was told that since they had no plans to upgrade it it has been removed. I replied asking if those ai flight plans and aircraft have been made a part of the NA regions but so far have received no reply. Does anyone here know? If not is there a substitute? I only have SCA, NCA, PNW, NRM, and CRM installed and do not plan to install anything else. I just want the areas that match my train simulator routes for the west. Noel

Hello everone on AVSIM, I have been away from flight simulation for a very long time due to not having a descent PC to run any sort of sim on. Today i ordered a brand new custom PC designed for flight simulation which is expected to be delivered by the end of the week and i really need some advice before i start spending money on sim software. I am either going to install FSX or P3D and i'm really not sure which to install although i'm in favor of P3D or if my new PC will run P3D so i'd appreciate any help and information/advice from you guys who have been using either. Is anyone using any kind of sound transducer with P3D? I (had) the Buttkicker 2 until its rather crappy amplifier broke. Was thinking about getting a more robust tranducer, but not sure that the same thing won't happen; Thinking about this one. Hi! With AI traffic enabled, i left click on my screen and choose air traffic to see which planes are around me. But it only shows what kind of airplane it is and reg number. Is it possible to show the company name aswell? When clicking on the actual plane i see the company name, but i want to see it in the list aswell.

Gentlemen, I thought I would ask this question here as this is making me older by the days. Anyone knows what causes or how to fix the this issue? The weather shows a straight line of haze that goes from the ground up to around 6,000 feet. I have P3D V 3.3 Active Sky Next Sp5 PTA V1.2 REX 4 Texture Direct Rex Soft Clouds Windows 10- 64Bit NVidia GTX 970 (drivers: 353.82) Intel 6700K Hope that info helps and some can point me in the right direction to remove that limited haze.

Around a month ago I built a system for P3D after being away from the hobby for 10 years. Honestly I expected great FPS even with a bunch of addons such as PMDG aircraft, AS16, complex airports such as those by FSDT, etc. I expected perfect textures, no stutters, and basically a perfect experience. This is what i get for watching a bunch of youtube videos lol. Hi The default airport is covered with autogen trees, no conflicting addons for KMCO, running v3.1. anyone experienced this issue. Mike King

Hello i am having an issue with moving the throttles on P3d v2.5 with the Airbus X extended. I am using a Thrustmaster Joystick with FSUIPC. Wondering if anyone can help me with this issue. i've set my Throttle Axis set on FSUIPC. But on the sim it looks like the throttle only goes to reverse but not forward. thanks

I just installed mytraffic and since I've been getting brief moments of black ai textures while they try to load. I'll also get the buildings at the airport shimmer as well. My system is an i5 6600k with 16gb ram and a gtx 1060. Most of this goes on at FSDT klas where I've been testing but I get it at other addon airports as well. I was getting around 23 fps locked with most settings turned up but things like shadows autogen cloud draw etc backed off. Once I added ai at 15% that changed to around 20 with it dropping a bit lower when close to the buildings and near ai. I tried the texturemax load at 6, 21, 24,27,30. I purchased CYOW Ottawa from FSimStudios. Nice scenery but I have a problem were the default terminal is sitting on top of the developer scenery. I have been in communication with the developer and they insist it is not their scenery causing the problem. They have also given me a bgl autogen exclusion polygon for the affected area but it did not help. So my question is how to I figure out what is causing this issue? I have doubled checked all of my folders to confirm that I have not installed a freeware version of the the airport and it is not on the list of ORBX freeware airports that I have installed.

Seen a lot of great videos in P3D and Fsx. Would like to know what everyone is using to pan around in external view or in VC. I am currently using my mouse with ezdok. Also would like to know some settings that you maybe using. Trying to get that floating around feel. I am waiting on my Trackir 5 to arrive.

Hello to all, I am very new to P3D and have only just got the Academic version 3.3 up and running. I am not really using the programme due to the fact that I am using 6 monitors (and AMD GPUs) ((also see my Signature below for system Specifications)) which has the result of very very poor performance in P3D using sliders which are placed about three meters to the left of my computer LOL. I have absolutely no Add-ons installed. I tried the Feelthere Phenom100 but I only get a cockpit with no electrics or avionics at all.
