Really odd issue I am encountering. Ever since I purchased and installed FSUIPC I can't achieve any faster than 190 knots. Additionally when I am using aircraft with wingflex modeled, the wings don't flex. Is there a friction or speed setting I need to change within FSUIPC? Maybe it's not FSUIPC related at all? Thanks

Hello everyone, here is the deal: been using P3D v2.5 for a while years with not too many problems. I have many many addons, FTX, STB, ASN, ai planes, and far too many airport addons so you name it, I probably have it. So I knew when P3D v3 came out and you could not upgrade from v2 that the writing was on the wall and I would have to suck it up and buy the new version all over again. I did not think it would come so soon but it seems it has. I have been following the new texture package called envtex while also keeping my eye on as16 and rex skyforce. I have been deciding which one to buy, but surprise they all require P3D v3 so now the decision is made. I assume mos…

Hello all, I would like to make the switch to Orbx products from GEX. However, I am having a problem. I cannot get my account activation confirmed by Orbx since I am still waiting on the email confirmation. I have also tried to register for the forum, but I am waiting on that email confirmation as well. I don't think my email service provider is filtering Orbx emails. I submitted a ticket to their support forum and received an automated reply. Normally, these type of activations are nearly instantaneous. The original registration has taken more than 24 hours. Is that normal for Orbx? Thanks, Rich Boll Wichita KS

Good morning everyone. I recently did a clean install of P3Dv3.4 after removing P3Dv3.2 from my computer. So far I have reinstalled all of my Orbx products (Global, Vector, North America LC, numerous scenery packages etc.) using FTX Central, Active Sky Next, Rex Essentials and HD Airports. I reinstalled all of my existing AI aircraft and traffic AFCADS from my previous install and new installs of PMDG 737NGX and Aerosoft A318, A319, A320, A321. My settings in the sim are all the same as my previous install. The issue I am having is ground textures are blurry (you will see in one image below a narrow strip behind my plane is ok, the rest is a blur), AI textures are…

I've made the move from FSX to P3D for the graphics. Boy I regret it!. I had something like 2 crashes per year, no OOM and a nice ride. I switched to P3D in late August 2016 and had so many crashes... I resolved most of them, but one still plagued me. I had random terrain.dll crashed, both on addon sceneries and default areas. When V3.4 came out, I decided to do a full reinstal, hoping that it will fix it. It didn't. I just had the nth terrain.dll crash over nothing! Flying over the border between France and Spain, with no addon scenery within at least 600nm. How is that even possible? I never had terrain.dll problems in years of FSX. My guess is that it has …

For 2 days ago I upgraded my system with a new MSI gtx 1060 6gb gaming X from my older, slower and above all too little Vram. Gtx 750. So now I have more Vram and that will make P3d happy but I didn't get a very big peformece boost. In dense areas at evening and clouds I can get down to 15-18 fps. Is my CPU, I5 4460 bottlenecks? Would not be so strenge. If it bottlenecking how can I get more load on the gpu because it's quite powerful and now the GPU usage is only around 40-60%. And the cpu works the heck out of it.

So something i found by mistake but it seems to be helping my frames and overall smoothness, i use Process Lasso and set my Affinity mask for P3d from within it. i had it set to all four cores (I7 4790k HT off). Core 0 was being utilized may more than 1-3 so i turned it off for p3d. There was not much of a difference so i turned it back on and wow all four cores are being used very close in sync and the frames went up a small amount but still. it also got smoother and less stutter. I have repeated this my last few times and works every time. i will make a video of this later and put it up. So just to see if i am Nuts if you use process Lasso please look at it with all…

My 780Ti giving all the signs of having given up the ghost, I look into buying a new card with specifically P3D in mind (lots of OrbX sceneries, A2A/RealAIr/Milviz kind of aircraft). I run a 4770 at 4.4 Ghz, presently with a 2560*1440 27" monitor. I try to make up my mind on two issues : - should I wait January for the 1080Ti or would a 1080 be enough ? I mean, would a Ti bottleneck the CPU anyway and be an overkill ? - Also, would a Ti be better if I go for 3840*2160 ? Again, this is to run P3D. Any ideas ?

Anyone hear of a YPPH Perth Airport in development? Next week a big announcement with Qantas who will be finally running the new longest route in the world Perth to London when the 789's hit town. The old airport is so outdated and missing a whole terminal with Virgin Australia moving onto the International side. Looks like ORBX will not do and understand that the area could be another KSEA and VAS hogger. Would be good if someone could tackle the airport but any news would be good Cheers Miles

I installed the latest AIRAC cycle 1613 from Navigraph a few days and I now have no NAVDATA for Runway 25R at KLAX. If I set up a flight plan in the Phenom 300 or the PMDG 737NGX (only ones tried so far), there is no ILS data for Runway 25R. It just shows 25R (versus ILS 25R) or it doesn't show up at all as a runway available to land. Just wondering if others are seeing this. I know for a fact the data was in the last cycle as I used it frequently to land at KLAX. That's upsetting the data was lost in the new cycle. Does anyone know the developer at Navigraph and put some pressure on him to put it back? I can contact him too but want to get a verification first. …

Is there a trick to getting good performance with the NCA + aerosoft combination? Aerosoft by itself with the NCA entries disabled along with disabling all "extreme" bgls from aerosoft can give decent performance of say 39 fps, then with rain clouds, drops to as low as 24-26 in spots.. however.. if i enable all NCA entries (making sure san fran is above these in the scenery library), things get really bad.. talking 14-24 on average with the same situation. I also think i read there may be other things i can disable in the aerosoft scenery folder, but forget which bgls etc.. Any experiences with these? Thanks

After all these years in P3D... and struggling to get good FPS with the PMDG... I finally figured it out on my system.... 1280 x 720. I stream on Twitch/YouTube, which I can only stream at 720p. So it got me thinking.. why don't i just put the sim in 720p also? So I did that today, flying in windowed mode which still makes the view screen 1080p and I set my in-game resolution to 1280 x 720. I just backed out of a payware airport with 45 FPS in the VC instead of 25 and had 60 FPS on the ground and in the air. LOL... and the great thing is... there is so very little difference in quality between 1080 vs 720 that I miss nothing about 1080 .... I am kicking…

I just heard the news that the upcoming P3D (every 3 month) release that's due this month will be a hotfix only. Is P3D dying a slow death? To be honest I have not really seen any real change in P3D since 2.1 came out nearly 3 years ago with volumetric fog and cloud shadows. If they were both running side by side (2.1 & 3.4) would you be able to see a real noticeable difference? This is nearly 3 years of development. In terms of the actual simulator (not tools like the Director) its pretty much minor tinkering and changes that make little overall difference to the sim. When you look at other games and the advancement we see (even on games on a smart phone) its amazi…

We believe it might improve some of these VAS reports. Feel free to continue to report use cases and any specific reproduction steps. Regards, Adam Prepar3D® Engineering Project Manager Good news. It almost seems like there won't be a version 3.5.

It's working now w/ other aircraft in my hangar but when I use the NGX the trim wheel on the NGX just wants to move only in one direction. I had calibrated the Cessna trim wheel using FSUIPC and it works great on other aircraft. Thanks in advance for your insights.

I guess that I never realized that the format of missionpanels.cfg (in the gauges subfolder) is virtually identical to that of panels.cfg, which means that new popup windows can be added and that they can even include XML/GAU gauges to allow for programming. Here's an example of a 3rd party developer using this technique to allow the use of their FSX addon (AirTrack) in P3d: http://air.ipobjects.com/forums/8/thread/124 This is a different approach than addons that are based on SimConnect (ASN, GSX, Tacpack, etc.) use to generate popup windows. Note, the XML must contain code to create either an onscreen button or keyboard shortcut to allow the window to popup. He…
