Hi, I have lost my PD dedicated SSD, and still have reinstalled averything on a new one, P3D, A few aircrafts and tons of Orbx sceneries. But I cannot install my FS Gloabal mesh DVD upgrade (the same installer was OK the last time) When it coomes to the screen for choosing the simulaytor, the option FSX is selected, and no way to change it. And when i go on it lets me choose the installation folder, but does not accept the PD folder, it wants FSX. What can i do ?

Hi all, I saw ORBX is running a sale on most of it's products and had a quick question. I've been looking at FTX Global Base, FTX Global Vector, and FTX Flobal openLC North America. Are all 3 products generally recommended or are some more highly recommended over others? I've seen mostly positive reviews where I've looked so far. Also, would the correct install order be: Global Base Vector open LC North America Also, any noted performance issues from installing all 3 onto your system? I have been repeating a flight from LIPX Verona in Italy by New Scenery Studio ( very decent scenery) across to Aerosoft's Mega Heathrow EGLL in the NGX. Mainly to test different settings in the sim and Vector relating to affect on VAS. My theory being that if I can fly the NGX for 2 hours from an addon airport into EGLL without going below 300MB VAS remaining, then I should be ok for pretty much any flight I do in the NGX. I have noticed however that on landing at EGLL there is now hardly any AI traffic. My P3D slider is on 25% for both airliners and GA. I had only two other aircraft on the entire airport, parked at terminal 5. On departing LIPX, there were seve…

FSX used to load fine, now beyond the first airport I load it at, it all goes blurry and never loads unless I pause the flight for more than a minute. Then I'm back to the same problem when I get beyond that area. I think it has something to do with the new libraries, but I'm not certain, I don't remember ever having a trouble with the blurries before now. I've tried the affinity mask thing, and it helped at least the trees load faster on the laptop, but nothing else. Is there a fix? Is this really an issue?

I'm having trouble downloading the Swedish Design scenery parts- they are both very large files (over 1GB) http://www.flightsim.no/filarkiv/sweden-design-del-1-av-2/ The download stops at ~500MB and the zip opens with "unexpected end of archive" Anyone know another source to get this scenery?

It's only available to install as a set of DVDs, but anyone who preordered probably has received them by now. I installed it yesterday and it took literally hours to install the entire world. It also contains worldwide bathymetry for P3d only. The mesh is definitely more detailed in mountainous areas and has improved substantially outside North America. Within NA, one will see some improvements over the previous version (FS Global 2010). There are some local meshes for western NA mountains (Shasta, Diablo, Rainier, Hood, St. Helens for example) that are pretty detailed. Be forewarned though, there may be additional elevation issues with airports that were not seen previo…

Tried the famous fiber frame tweak. I have seen suggestions setting on both 0.01 and 0.33. Used both settings, and to be honest, not very impressed. Any suggestion on what number to try next? What is max number above 0.33? What increments do you suggest in the tweak process? Guess Elaine will chime in :smile:

Hello, I tried to look through all the ATC addons that are available at this time but it's hard to get a good idea of how well they work. Basically I'm looking for one that features SIDs and STARs, proper phraseology and doesn't sound too robotic and voices that sound like they are transmitted by radio because some addons seem to have voices that sound like the controller is sitting next to you on a park bench. I think Microsoft did a good job on the default ATC in terms of speaking because the voices don't sound robotic. If anyone who has used multiple addons could provide some input that would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys and gals, Please share your experiences with the new P3D sim 3.4. Looking forward to read your experiences. I know Orbx already updated their Dlls. Heck, they released it less than an hour of the p3D 3.4 public release. How is the VAS, performance, upgrade experience from 3.35 etc I will test VR later on a clean test system but if you have tried native VR already - please let me know.

I am using W10 with P3D V3.4, the PMDG 738NGX, AS 2016, TrackIR, and the latest version of FSUIPC. I recently noticed a weird issue with the HUD. In clear skies the HUD works fine. But while going thru clouds, the HUD display kind of "fades" in and out (i.e. goes from normal brightness to very dim and back). Its like the HUD is actually outside the aircraft passing thru the clouds. I tried switching from auto to manual mode, turning the brightness up all the way, and zooming my POV in and out, but that didn't help. Any ideas on this one? Thanks.

It's a great aircraft, but I am having some trouble turning on the "modern" avionics - I have the GTN 750 installed. When I load the airplane, the GTN750 module shows in the instrument panel (and I know that it is properly installed) but it does not come on. And I cannot find an avionics or general radio switch. Anybody have a suggestion?

After installing Mytraffic 6. Loading time is now much longer. Now this message shows up a couple of times: Simconnect 50 seconds. Open configuration tool and select correct simulator. Closing messages, and the sim runs fine. Anyone have a simple procedure to fix this? Thanks!

I've had P3D for quite a while now and it has never grabbed me. I had FSX DX10 running beautifully and whenever I had another go at P3D it just caused a 'meh'. About 3 weeks ago I made another attempt, pushed some buttons, slid some sliders and ticked & unticked some boxes. Suddenly I stopped 'mehing'! Now I'm not saying I was OMGing or AWESOMEing all over the place but P3D had become FSX DX10 plus a few bits. Since then poor old faithful FSX has been like a worn out horse left alone in a field. It seemed like a kindness to put it out of it's misery. BANG! Uninstalled. Prepar3D's training is coming along nicely. If this has been a bit too anthropomorphic …

Hi all, I have a weird problem. Wherever I am stationed in North America (have not tried abroad), when I want to check ASN ATIS at 122.00, the channel on the GTN 750 constantly points to Boston FL FSS, It was working fine up until I updated the F1 GTN to v1.19. Anyone seen this before and, if so, HELP!

Hi I have been trying to do the A318 steep appr into EGLC according to the Aerosoft tutorial and with the plane configured accordingly but when on final the throttles seem to spool up into TOGA. I have watched videos on YouTube and followed the Aerosoft tutorial and cannot get it to continue properly. Anyone got any ideas on what I am doing wrong? thanks Paul

Hey, all... I am currently running v3.2 - never felt the need to update for the GA flying that I do; and my slightly older system runs fine. Except for the last hotfix, people seem to be happy with v3.4. Is it worth updating for me? All opinions welcome. Thanks, Ron

Hi I read a lot on this forum about both programs, I also know that ProATCX was an ATC tool which was recommended a lot in the past, but this has changed with release of PF3. I also saw a lot of comments in the beginning that PF3 is better for VFR and ProATCX is better for IFR, but lately this trend seem to change. I never saw one definite answer to question which of those programs is ultimately better, but I guess this might be related to fact that different people need ATC tool for different reasons.
