HI am building a brand new flight simulator and plan on installing both P3D v3 and P3D v4 as well as Microsoft FSX with the acceleration pack. My question is this.... Is there a preferred windows operating system for these particular simulators? By that I mean is there a preference to use Microsoft windows 7 vs 8 vs 10 or it really doesn't matter. I am asking because I want to be sure I load the right stuff the first time and not have to go back and do the installs all over again. My plans are to use the following as well. VoxATC, FSXFlight (to use foreflight), Orbx Global, Active Sky, and SPAD to name a few. thank you in advance for your comments and suggestion…

Approx. 20 mins into a flight my computer freezes. The only way to unfreeze computer is to reboot. I have app crash viewer and event log which show no crash. I have been monitoring computer with nividia inspector and task manager and everything is fine before freeze. I uninstalled all addon scenery that did not have dedicated installers for prepar3d v4 and still getting the freeze. I also uninstalled ultimate traffic live and active sky. The only scenery I was unable to install was newark airport scenery. (no uninstaller) I have pmdg 737 and 777 but have also got freezes with default aircraft. Before starting all over and doing a clean install does anyone have any ideas ?…

Hi, I was hoping that the freeze issue i am having about 500-200feet AGL would go away now that i also can preload All sounds in the PMDG released aircrafts but I still get freeze for half a second twice on very late final at least to 28R. It is the same with ILS28R or just the quite bridge visual. I can sustain 25fps. I have FTX NCA with all the Marina disabled in the control panel. Any one having a tip? I just love to test my skills at this great place on earth. Thanks Michael Moe

I had an excellent experience with P3Dv4 flying the A2A C172, using ENVTEX, PTA, Active Sky 4, and Radar Contact 4, from Memphis KNQA Millington to KHOT Hot springs. Smooth as silk!!! The only problem I had (nothing major) was the RC4 window was a semitransparent green. Anyone experience this? If so, any way to make it purely transparent like it is in P3Dv3.4 and FSX? I have FSUIPC5 and posted the question over at Pete Dawson's forum as well. P3Dv4 is going to keep getting better and better as time progresses and more addons get up to speed with 64bit. Due to PC breakdown I lost my copy of P3D v 3.3 Problem is I need it for scenery build with Instant scenery, and I am not sure it is still up for download at Lookheed Martin. Does anyone know if it possible to download it anywhere ? Best regards Soeren

So I am in the flight tutorial PDF and it says "Load the flight “Aerosoft CRJ Tutorial” that will place the aircraft with all the correct settings and at the correct location. We will start your flight at the American Eagle terminal, so the CRJ-700 is placed on their platform." Problem is there is no such saved flight in the load scenarios option in P3Dv4. Its annoying when they can't even get a basic scenario right!

I've read serveral mentions about Update 4.1 for P3D. Is there any further info around, changelog or similar?

Probably the only aspect about night lighting I don't like is the orange street/high way lighting. I've tried using the FTX global lighting tool to set the smallest amount of orange light. But it is still too much. Is there any way to turn it to yellow or white? Thanks guys!

The South American Open LC with upgraded mesh is astonishing. The southernmost international airport in the world (SAWH) looks to be near payware quality set between the mountains and the sea. It is surely almost worth the price of admission for the whole continent all by itself. Make sure you have AI ships installed when you visit! The winter looks as cold as nearby Antartica. Lovely! Just curious: As a new adopter of Prepar3Dv4 (moved from FSX a few days ago), I wondered whether things like HighMem fix, Affinity Mask, or even using Nvidia Inspector were even necessary for this program. I would appreciate hearing your opinions on this. Stan

Just one example, found my Addon sceneries are spreaded in 9 different folders. Some developers (FSDG) install in the P3D Addons folder in c:\Users\documents. Some developers (Pacsim, Tropicalsim, FlyTampa) install their own folder in the P3D main directory. Simmarket sceneries get spreaded everywhere, in Simmarket folder itself (Justsim), in Prepar3D v4 Add-On folder inside main P3D folder (JetStreamDesign). Ad oh, yes, some go to the Aerosoft folder, some go to the Addon Scenery folder (Drzewiezki). Quite often you can't change the folder during installation. What a chaos... Mike

Hello everybody, I have since today a very strange Flusi error ... When I start P3D V3.4, the standard flight comes with the Starfigther and KVBS. It works joystick and all add oN`s listed under the menu item Add On, such as. GSX, IVAO or the like. As soon as I select an Add On Airport, all of them are joystick, all add-ons are no longer accessible, and the joystick is also deactivated. At first flying in VR the cockpit click spots were a little off, but doable. For some reason that's changed to so far off, it's not usable. Any idea how to fix this ? I added another sensor to use oculas touch with others apps, but this problem started before that. Thanks,

I bought the NYC airports x packages and have kewr an kjfk and the regional airports installed correctly. However, I had imaginesim lga installed prior to. I tried uninstalling klga from imaginesim but it is still there. The NYC x lga doesn't seem to take priority and the imaginesim scenery seems to stick there. Any tips on getting rid of that so NYC x can take over?

Hi everyone, I've noticed in V4 my ORBX ground textures are taking what seems like a long time to focus, They appear blurry and its a good few minutes before they sort themselves out and appear clear. I've tried many different settings to try and fix this. Does anyone know of a way to help this issue? I have a i7 @ 4.8ghz and 8gb GTX 1070 so i don't think it would be a hardware loading issue. Hi I think maybe I am just overlooking or repeating a config error of some sort Every time I configure a flight and I look at the Approach config the Vref speeds look very high 180/190 kts for landing of course this is causing an issue. Last time was coming Manchester EGCC . I use PFPX. Its the first time I have noticed this since moving from the NGX 737 Any ideas guys Carl Brown

I use a 5K iMac (I know - only an word not allowed would try to use an apple product to run high-performance-requirement software designed for windows on a mac) for all of my computing tasks, including Flight Simulation where I run Microsoft FSX-Steam Edition (Only to run the Coolsky DC-9) and Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D v3. Is there a way to do this with aftermarket planes like PMDG? I've seen plenty of videos on youtube of people making nice cinematics of their takeoff and landing with PMDG planes and it looks nice. I know the replay system in P3D is not that great and you will miss some plane effects and stuff, but how is it being done in these videos? I would like to know the technique. Because I love watching my takeoff and landing.

My System Specs : i7-7700K / 16GB 3200 RAM / GTX 1080 I am able to maintain “smooth" flight with most sliders to the right except all traffic disabled / Special effects on medium \ No HDR / No Speedtrees / 8MSAA. Has anyone tried to install the new Rex Texture Direct from Simmarket? I have tried downloading it twice and it won't install at all. No error messages, just does nothing. I wonder if the installer is broken. I have contacted support, but its been a few hours and I'm impatient. Thanks!

I'm thinking about upgrading to an SSD for P3D. But I'm not sure what size to get. I'm looking at the 500GB and the 1TB. Is the Samsung 850 EVO 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD any good? It seems to be the best seller on Amazon. Do you think 500GB would be enough, I have a lot of add-ons and I want to be able to fit everything and also have some leftover room for peace of mind. The 1TB is $340 and the 500GB is $175.
