I switched over to v4 a couple weeks ago from FSX. The v4 install is working great. Performance is far better than I expected and I finally feel that I am getting the most our of my 3.5 year old system. I'm very happy except for the following: During the v4 install it directed me to install on my c drive. I just bought a 1TB SSD for a dedicated v4 drive, so I definitely didn't want to do that. I directed the installer to my F drive (SSD). To my surprise, the installer did not create a main V4 folder. I dumped all of the folder/files right on to the f drive. For example, I now have F:\Addon Scenery, F:\SimObjects... I wanted F:\P3DV4\Addon Scenery, F:\P3DV4\SimObjects…

But I would prefer to see Airports

Ho guys, I have the full Orbx stack (global, vector, openlc) for Europe, but as I do a lot of flying into Austria (LOWI) and Switzerland airports, I am wondering what is the best scenery for there? I especially want the alps to look amazing and some of the towns. Nothing recent seems available for P3D, so I am looking at older products: Approaching Innsbruck, Swiss Pro, and Austria Pro. 1) Do they work with P3D v3 easily? 2) Are they still good enough or are they dated looking by now? I would only be buying if they were a decent step up from the ORBX stuff right now. Thank you all, Heathrow.

To all those P3dV4, was wondering if any one had some info on how to obtain a vehicle to use in the sim that can be added to airplanes in simobjects?

Ok its only a little bug but still.... I Installed SODE 1.5.3 for KMSP and activated it, Ran Flightbeam manager activated SODE jetways, Gate 4 KMSP PMDG 747 no Jetways will work. No triggerable objects within 6.5nm same at every heavy gate I tested the dll connection through the addon tab and it said it was working. I also looked in the dll.xml and exe.xml files in /programdata there is no entry for SODE. It seems to be a very easy programe to install but it has me stumped, am i missing something obvious? In creating the add-on.xml files to load sceneries, I ran into a case where adding certain addon airports (FlyTampa Dubai, StMaarten and Midway) resulted in all of my aircraft exterior textures being corrputed. I have discovered, after many many hours, that when the addon component for textures is assigned a type "Global" will in certain cases cause the texture corruption of vehicles. Using either World or UI doesn't cause a problem. If the Type is not declared then the default is Global. All other FlyTampa locations are okay with the Global default. Does anyone know the definition of the three categories Global, World and UI? I've looked throughout the SDK for …

Are there any changes to v4 in regard of freeware AI traffic install? I'm using WoAI and a ton of airlines downloaded and installed with AI flight planner. To save myself from the lengthy nightmare of having to re-install everything after clean re-installs of v3 I made a backup of all the simobject/texture/effects/flight plan files so I could simply copy them back into v3 after re-installing. Will this work with v4 too?

I've been racking my brains trying to figure out why Manfred's wonderful C-47 V3 props do not animation on my "host" PC. Situation: P3D V4 Host (Server) PC has C-47 installed Client PC has C-47 installed and joins the Host (DirectIP) On the Host PC the props don't animate, on the Client PC the props DO animate. So I tried a different aircraft on the Client PC (default A36) and I see the prop animation on both Host and Client PCs. So the issue appears to be specific to Manfred's C-47 V3 ... see below: Any suggestions welcome. Cheers, Rob.

So after an entire day of trying to learn simconnect, playing with my network and setting up ASP4, ASCA, Plan G and PFPX on a server computer...I just learned that my verizon router apparently dynamically assigns IP addresses so that they may not be the same each time I setup the computer. I talked with my internet provider about changing the IP lease to static but apparently they claim I need to "upgrade" to a business account to do that. Curious if the computer "name" could be entered in simconnect and other .ini files instead of an IP address (if it is gonna be constantly changing and invalid). Anyone have experience with this? I'm talking stock Heathrow I enjoy 40/60 FPS at KSFO, KMEM on the tower view but Heathrow I get 12/15. All the same settings Just curious if you have had similar results

I'm having some difficulties with pauses that only seem to be coming up when flying over the DD Washington X and was hoping to get some feedback to help me deal with them. I've been noticing after about 15 minutes of flying in this scenery area, I start to get 3-4 second pauses every 2-3 seconds. The pauses seem to get progressively longer and and more frequent as I spend more time in the area. Unfortunately, they have prevented me from completing a flight in to DCA to date. Practically speaking, I know this is more likely related to settings than the scenery. I am having a hard time tracking down settings that make a difference though and am only noticing …

It seems as of yet there is not a p3dv4 installer for many of Aerosoft's products.. i have a bunch of US Cities X sceneries i'd like to test in p3dv4, but i'm worried about breaking things. Has anyone managed to get any of them working without breaking the sim? Whats the best way to test these with minimal pain? I know many of the installers for addons often through files in the p3dv4 folder.. i'd like to avoid doing this for v3 things... Given this.. i guess estonia migrator tool is out here? Is the next best thing to simply point to the scenery folder (or move it to the new p3dv4 path or another path) and update either scenery.cfg or as i think i saw m…

Has anyone noticed the same thing. I go from 60 FPS to 32 FPS when this is ticked.

Guys, I have been flying tubeliners for awhile and wanted to take a break and fly some of my GA planes for some stunning VFR flights. I love nature such as beautiful coastlines, moutains, hills and landscapes. The only scenic places that I really flown around was Hawaii. I'm trying to expand further and want to try other parts of the world. I love to do short hops from airport to airport. So if you guys now of any good routes that would take me through some amazing and breathtaking scenery that would be great!

I am new to P3D. In v4 I have separate locations with an exe.xml and dll.xml c:\programdata\... c:\users\... What is the difference? Thanks.

Why do I get 20-30 fps in cruise and it's really stuttering. On ground I can get 30-50fps depending on scenery and it's not stuttering. Using Prepar3D V3.4.22.19868. Maybe overclocking my CPU had to to something with it, because before that it didn't stutter that bad in cruise. Specs: Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB, i7 4790K @4.4ghz, 16GB DDR3 RAM, Asus Maximus VII Ranger motherboard, CM Hyper 212 Evo CPU cooler, 500GB Crucial MX200 SSD (this is where P3D and addons are installed), WD Black 1TB 7200RPM HDD, Corsair CX750 750W PSU, Windows 10 Home 64bit

Is there an addon or tweak that can give realistic off pavement behavior of friction and gear pressure handling? In MSFS and p3d it is hardly noticeable when the wheels of an airliner stray off the taxiway on to ground/dirt and come back on like nothing happened. This takes away from the necessity and challenge to keep the plane like 77W on taxiway.

I upgraded to V4 and also upgraded my ASN16 to ASP4. I cannot find the drop down list in V4 weather that will let me chose ASP4. Something is missing somewhere? Can anyone help me solve this?

Hi, I have licens for both P 3dv4 and Steam FSX Flightsimulator, When y start FTX it shose both simulator and wants to now with sim y wont to download my different Orbx scenerys, y got licens to a lot of Orbx scenerys to both sims Y downloaded everything to P3dv4 without any problem and its running ok when y started downloading FTx Global for Steam Fsx Edition it did migration work, after that FTX wont start again Got same error messages like%%%%root%%%% any problems running FTX Central with both Simulators at the same time?? thx for help and adwise nils

Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me solve a mystery. I recently installed P3Dv4 and reinstalled my ORBX regions via ORBX central, but the scenery looks really odd in some places. Basically at some airports there are flying houses, hovering 500ft or so above the ground, however the terrain/mesh looks correct. I have ORBX Scenery installed for the UK and North America, and as an example, when I'm approaching EGHI, there are several buildings floating about 500ft in the air. I'm also seeing the same problem at some of the default fields in PNW and in Norway (Around Alesund) Does or has anyone else had this problem and know how to solve it? I have no other sce…

I know many here want to go the XML route. I prefer to determine where my sceneries should go. FSDG sceneries are installing into My Docs folder. I moved them to my D drive and changed the path in the scenery_add-ons.xml. When I open P3D it delete the entries. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Jose
