Hi guys, thought I'd open a topic here before going to fsdreamteam regarding something I've noticed with GSX... whenever I save a scenario to load it up again (in order to save VAS) GSX doesn't appear in my addons and shows up as "in trial mode and not activated)... I tried to run the live update by fsdt but that doesn't work. That's a bit frustrating when doing a 10 hour flight and not having ground handling on arrival... Anyone noticed this problem too or may even be able to help me? Thanks in advance!

Hello all, what are your settings in ActiveSky (especially Cloud Draw Distances and Visibility Options) to a) have it realistic (Am I right that these settings should be different in winter/summer?) b) have it good looking? I am currently using the default values but I think that other values can create even better effects, although it really looks great already. If someone is happy with his settings and could share them, this would be very appreciated. Thanks!

There is an object at Earth Simulations Isle of Man Ronaldsway airport that looks like an "engine run up test area". Unfortunately, this is displayed as jet black in P3D v3. I have checked the textures for the airport, and I am pretty sure that it is using ES-Blast.dds. DDS Viewer displays it just fine, and it looks like a green grass/earth bank that surrounds the test area. My question is......how can I get the correct texture to display? Has anyone managed to do this, and if so....how? On a side note, I have never been able to see the 3D wig-wag models at this airport in P3D v3. Can anyone suggest a solution for this issue?

...if you can get a sky like this with just ONE totally FREE texture file of around 350 kb? As far as sky and cloud texture are concerned the above picture is P3D default with only ONE texture file added, the cumulus01.bmp from HDEv2. That’s it. Well, obviously AS is taking care of the weather, but really, I always wonder why people need thousands of cloud textures for a lot of money if just one free bmp can give you skies like this? I’ve been using this file for years and my skies look different all the time. Who told us we really need thousands of textures to create varied skies...? I am sure it was a payware cloud texture addon developer. Just some food …

Just a quick question - were these ever updated to be v4 compatible? I can't find any documentation that states they have. Simmarket just lists it as "prepar3d" but not with an actual version, their website seems to be lacking info as well. Just wondering if I should waste my time reinstalling them or not. I kinda forgot about them when v4 came out.

I have P3D V4.1, I am using REX4 Texture Direct/Soft Clouds/ Enhanced Edition. I need a weather engine to go along with Rex. I am so confused about the new product Rex SkyForce. Is this a weather engine? I just want a program that injects weather into my sim,, that will use my REX4 Texture Direct/Soft Clouds/ Enhanced Edition texture settings. Thanks, Dutch1

Hello, Since a month I stepped over from FSX to P3D and it's awesome! Certainly with almost everything in ultra settings 4K with my GTX1080. The only weird thing is when using the flood panel lights in dark situations. The textures get somewhat distorted. As I said, I have everything in in ultra settings (also dynamic light with HDR) and using 4K resolution. Are these textures normal with P3D? I don't remember I had this in FSX. Here are some examples. The last picture shows flood lights off (only emergency light is on). It looks fine then. Thanks, BiTRiP

With the recent release of SF3D and no announced major updates from HiFi. I don’t think we have anything else coming up in 2018 for weather / cloud advances in P3D. I currently run ASP4 / ASCA, but I do have Rex TD & SC as well as Rex’s older Essentials. This is not a debate over which combo is the best; that opinion will differ and we have been there / done that here many times. They “all look pretty good” to me along with their own set of limitations (like performance). However, if SF3D took 3 years to develop, then I wonder what more can really be done by any 3rd party Dev to “radically” transform P3D’s sky in the near future. My concern is that…

After many hours of frustration I managed to get the GTN750 perfectly integrated into the Orbx Lancair IV-P. This is not a straightforward integration as Orbx use an unusual system to remove the modelling from the standard radios / RXPs, that uses a gauge to remove the modelling in real time in the sim. To add to the complications, I discovered that FS Panel Studio was wrongly changing ident numbers whenever the Lancair was opened in it, disabling some vital gauges for the engine management system. So had to start again and proceed manually, without FS Panel Studio! ...... but got there in the end. All works perfectly, VC integration as well as the pop up, etc..…

AS Anchorage and German Airports 2 has someone installed these into P3D v4? Any bugs?

Hi, Installed and all I did was the following. Enter Name, serial code. Start Rex Sky force. Your then asked to set your cloud resolution. I set DTX5 512 for both and Moon to 2048. That's it. Nothing else, no loading choiseing textures, Nothing. Just to be clear nothing else. ASv4 with ASCA + REX Soft Clouds. EGNX RWY 27 I can see this airport from my house, well I can see the weather! I loaded the sim 2 times and these are with REX Sky force. Nothing else I will do flights etc but it's a bit late now so...properly tomorrow.

Hey, I looked for a short or middle haul plane with a high system depht. I doesnt wan´t a Turboprop plane expect the Dash 8. Can you write some Aircrafts but not PMDG?

On the 2D Panel I should get Information about a Switch when I Position the mouse over it. But this is not so although I have the Option activated in General Options. The second Problem for me is, that I am unable to zoon the 2D-panel. Especially the upper left Buttons (one is DATA) are hardly to read. It should work by entering the space bar and moving the mouse-wheel. The only Thing that zooms is the runway. Please help a bloody beginner. REX has announced that they are working on a HOTFIX for Sky Force 3D. This their statement: HOTFIX 1 - COMING UP! We have been made aware of some items that need an immediate fix that was not caught during testing. We are presently working on our first hotfix to address the following issues: - Step 2 registration issue that is occurring for some - Several odd .net framework issues while the weather engine, cloud model sync engines are running, etc. - Another .net framework issue with the PFPX export issue. I had P3D v3 before and randomly I had CTD with no information on APPCrashView nor Event log ( I have followed all instruction pointed out on AVSIM CTD Guide) . Hello.. Just setting up a new installation of P3D v4.1. I do not use FSUIPC. I use FSForce for my Iris Dynamics Yoke. Also have the Saitek Throttle Quadrant and Saitek Cessna Trim Wheel. All devices are working as intended and mapping has been double checked to prevent any conflicts or duplicates. PROBLEM - When I select the Saitek Throttle Quadrant and press the CALIBRATION button, I do not get the proper P3D calibration screen. Instead, the old internal Windows dialogue box opens up for Game Controllers and wants me to calibrate via Windows. This problem popped up today. When using PMDG aircraft and while in dense cloud/weather (AS for P3D4), the sound starts to degrade the equivalent of sound stuttering. This has only happened to me in V4. I am using the Asus Z97-K onboard sound. Would disabling the onboard sound and installing a separate sound card help? Or is this problem being caused by something else. Looking for some advice/feedback from anyone who has experienced this issue. Regards

Greetings everyone! I just recently purchased P3D and have been reading forums galore hoping to take in as much info as I can. My main question is add-on's, which ones to get. Now I have a few - AS4 with ASCA, Rex4 and Soft Clouds and FSUIPC. However, what could I use for flight plans? Is Little Navmap good? are there any other add-on's that could make my experience more realistic? Also, what about creating your own planes? I see other forums have a section for that but not P3D. Hi to all P3D v4 simmers. Installed AIRAC 1713 ver 1. After loading either PMDG 747 or 777 I get FMC message NAV DATA Out Of Date. FMC shows Dec07Jan03/18 and such FMC message showed always from the last week. How to fix it? Nav Data is up to date but FMC won't see.

After being a long time FSX user, in September I finally decided to make the jump to Prepare 3D and bought version 4. In FSX I fly PMDG 737 NGX, and have Saitek Flight Sim Yoke, Saitek dual throttles and rudder pedals, and additionally use a game controller to move around the virtual cockpit. Additionally I found Opus FSI camera does a fantastic job of allowing one to move around the airplane with walkarounds, and set up many views of the virtual cockpit. All works great in FSX. Hi guys, It's been a while since I was on this forum and I recently installed P3D V4.1 on a clean SSD with all updated addons etc... I've been having a tiny issue which is a LOT worse when on the ground, but I expect this is due to the scenery I have installed etc... however one thing that is bugging me right now is the stuttering / laggy mouse effect whilst in the air as well as on the ground. Previously, this never happened once I was up in the air at cruise, however it has just started happening regardless of where I am.
