...that over the last 48 hours, there has been some really fabulous discourse, spread over many threads...where people are giving their viewpoint(s), their reasons why they will pick up P3D v5.0 , or their reasons and logic why they have decided to not do so. Very little personal, one-on-one, attack posts...and this is great. This is the LIFE of a good forum...that people can have 180 degree opposing views or 'takes' and not need to denigrate another in support of THEIR viewpoint. Hi! Im thinking of buying the Fslabs 320 but I’ve heard that it has a huge performance impact. My specs: I5-8400K GTX 1070 8GB 8 GB DDR4 If someone with similar specs who also owns the FSL320, could you please let me know how many FPS you get when flying to a add on airport, for instance ORBX ESSA.

This looks just horrible.....sorry to say that. It is just my opinion. Ground looks much to bright. Also the skies much to blue and bright at night. I couldn´t believe my eyes. Very disappointed about that.I know it isn´t part of this release, as the release notes stated...but honestly I hoped they would have done something about that. Hi. I’m hoping to give v5 a go. What put me off v4.x was the fact you needed loads of add Ons to get the thing looking good. I was just confused as to what to purchase! So I didn’t bother and just removed v4. now with DX12, I’d like to invest some time and money. And give it a go! I know not all addons are confirmed yet for v5, however, what would I be looking to purchase on top of the base v5 package? (assuming all v4 addons are ported over). I currently use orbx with xp11. I have a rtx2080ti with 32gb ram and 9900KS. Looking to get the best visuals I can. And best weather. Planes can come after. Many thanks in advance!

Using Lorby Addon tool the scenery installed fine but there are no trees around the airport. I added the Justsim Autogen lib to the scenery library but no trees. There is instruction to use a Autogen Configuration merger tool. A little worried it would mess something up I tried it that not work either. Anyone tried to install Justsim UUWW and EVRA outside of P3d manually. Please let me know how you you did it. Thanks.

Bonjour, j'ai décidé de passer sur P3D, je jouais précédemment sur FSX et j'utilisais la souris en mode volant pour le roulage et pour le vol mais sur P3D on dirait que la souris en mode volant n'a pas d'effet sur le roulage, je suis donc obligé de faire avec les touches du clavier ce qui n’est vraiment pas pratique. Connaissez-vous une solution à mon problème ? Merci

Is there a way to get ATIS / AWOS / ASOS on the frequencies that are on airport diagrams or charts? I'm using Active Sky and they give current closest weather on 122.00 if you have it running but I'd like to be able to get the weather on route for a particular location if I'm in broadcast range. I have the voice transmission sound off and the ATC GUI off for VATSIM so it would be nice to get this just by tuning in to the correct frequency.

Will you guys be upgrading to v5 or starting all over from scratch? One thing I can't stand about P3D is the way it's installed. I know some developers are using the new install methods where it install the add-ons outside of the main P3D folder, but there are still 3rd party developers who install stuff inside it and this is where it gets messy. I wish the install of P3D was like X-Plane. Make's things so much easier.

Recently, I've had this strange problem of flying at altitude and then have your aircraft suddenly slam into the ground as if it were hit by a giant fly swatter or something. The aircraft still has momentum so I'm able to fly back to cruse alt as I have the crash settings turned off. That's because I've had problems teleporting to locations and have the aircraft materalize a couple of feet above the ground and the simulator would register it as a crash — but I've never had this happen at altitude. I've also had problems trying to land once or twice with the ground elevation set much higher than the depicted runway level and the aircraft slides along as if it were on an…

Been thinking about this some more...and yep I think the stock ground textures SUCK, but the nVidia Water 2.0 got me...so, I'll let y'all know how it shapes up, come Tuesday... I figure...if I like my loaded up, v4.5...what wouldn't I like less, with TrueSky Clouds...and nVidia Water 2.0? The way I see it...for the price of one Orbx T.E. region...I can't lose. Done deal...call me Curious George....

Usually just a lurker on Avsim these days but I’m genuinely interested in the opinions of the ‘crustier but wealthier’ user base here! P3D 5 seems a big improvement on previous versions in some areas and not others, but given the strong competition from XPlane and especially Microsoft coming up in the home sector, and shrinking budgets / acitivity / investment in aviation around the world likely after the covid dust settles, does P3D still represent a viable business for LM?

Hi all- The C47 comes with the GPS500. I have installed the RXP 750 and that went fine. When I enter say KSTS > KRDD in the RXP, that route does show in the GPS500 but I cannot get the C47 to hook up and track that flight plan. RXP is set to GPS C47 AP is on with GPS selected. Hello guys, I have tons of airports and also use orbx global for my p3dv4.5 but one of the airports that I can hardly even fly around is KSEA taxi2gate, for some unknown reason I get horrible performance around that area, any ideas why? I also check the orbx global files to see if anything is named KSEA or seatlle but I dont see anything, not sure if this has to do with the sim default area or how to solve it, I purchased this airport a while ago and havent been able to use it, no way to compare with all my other airports including big ones but they work as normal, thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, Just Purchase A330 Professional and find a bit of problem 1. Spoilers extend or retract very slowly.. How do I set that? 2. How do I dim the cabin light when take off or landing ? Please help Thank you

Hi folks, I've just bought a new computer which will be flight sim dedicated. The Display Adaptors listed on the Device Manager are "Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630" and "Nvidia GeForce RTX2080Ti". The P3Dv4.5 Graphics Display lists the Intel(R)UHD Graphics 630, but the drop down menu does not list anything else. I don't know if, by disabling the Intel (R)UHD 630 in the Device Manger, the P3D Graphics Display would then list the Nvidia GeForce 2080Ti, or if that would cause further problems. As it is the holiday, I am unable to contact the computer supplier for assistance. I hope someone will be able to give me advice. Kind regards Andy

I have observed this weird layering around the aircraft in several airports. It looks as if the autogen grass disappears progressively around the aircraft and then reappears as the aircraft runs down the taxiway/runway. I have p3dv4.5, no orbx scenery, just FreeMesh. I have done a P3d repair and the issue is still there. Thank you for any ideas!!

Will the upcoming v5 of P3D support 3rd party addons such as PMDG, Activesky, etc or do we need to wait for the developers to update their addons?

Hi Just looking on how to set my views. In the cockpit I want to use my hat switch on the joystick (I want to look around). Outside views I want to move the camera (using the s key), to different views, so they can see different views as though was moving my location! I use Chaseplane and that can switch between views, using what I assigned (A for cockpit, S for outside views), but I need to allow the HAT switch once I am trying to look around, either in the cockpit or outside. Also, even though I can get the elevators to work with the rudder it doesn't work with the joystick. The joystick works the left/right and up/down, but not the rudder! Very conf…

Every time I start p3d the second my VC appears another window opens up top left (outside view). I close it but when i launch the sim again the window comes back. How do I get rid of it ? Thanks in advance.

When I set (together with the airline) a flightnumber within the aircraft.cfg, e.g atc_airline = Lufthansa atc_flight_number = 123 this will be ignored by P3Dv4.5. I load the ailplane and the airline is taken over, but the flightnumber is 0. Is this a bug or a feature?

Hey! I just bought Aerosoft Prague for p3d V.4. When I would start the game and play, there are no runway lines or taxiway lines, nor any gates. Is there anyone who could help me with this problem? Sincerely Axel
