I have no idea where to put this since there isn't a SWS forum. So I'll put it here. Got the Nimitz vol 2 pack from SWS as a COVID-inspired impulse buy. Been having fun figuring out how to land on a carrier which is somewhat different than my usual routine of flying PMDGs and bizjets. I fully admit that, having only done it for about an hour, I still suck. Like, I'd get kicked out of the navy levels of suck. I keep coming in too low or high, and turns out staying on centerline of a runway that keeps moving to the right is kinda hard. But I'm having trouble understanding the vLSO grading logic. So these 3 videos show my usual performance test flight scenario. There are not identical. Its far from a great comparison. The time of day and weather are easier on the system in V5 flight. The setting are at the end of the V5 Video and unfortunately I forgot the to display the FPS and VRAM. FPS was always 30fps They are all the full flight with about a 30knot wind gusting out of the west. I flew through a cloud in the V5 Video. A cloud moving upwind! Also I flew low over the water. I couldn't wait for P3d v5, and I bought it YESTERDAY! I finally got it after trying for several hours to download it. I have NOT installed it as of yet (Wednesday, 1:08pm Eastern time)! Hi to anyone that can help. I recently downloaded Taxi2gate EDDM and seem to have issues with the night lighting. As you can see from the comparing images, one has a glow from the lights and the other doesnt. Im unsure why mine doesnt have a glow under the light and wondering if anyone has a fix? wihtout this light the airport night lighting is poor. https://imgur.com/a/Pt1g7b2

I logged into my account to redownload this addon only to find out that this version was for P3D v3 and that for P3D v4 and up I had to get a new version which I then find out that I have to repurchase it all over again for $40 USD. I'm kind of upset right now that I have to pay full price for an add-on that I already own and does basically the same thing. This is what really bothers me and one of the things that makes me want to just hold off for MSFS 2020 instead of respending my hard earned money on the same thing over and over again. Yep. My mind is made up and P3dv5 is a REAL WINNER in my book! Wow. It's so good that I deleted all folders and files for P3d v4.5 not too long after. First of all, P3d v5 is not so good without ORBX. All of my ORBX files converted beautifully into v5. What a difference it makes in the autogen, the scenery, and the realism. Wouldn't fly without it.. Also, I pointed REX SkyForce to v5. I was able to choose new clouds, and because I don't have Active Sky yet, I used the SkyForce Weather option. I was very, very pleased with that. I flew from KABE (Allentown, Pa) to KIPT (Williamsport, Pa) which is about 70 miles or so, and within 40 miles of KIPT there we…

Not a v5 post 🙂 Is it possible to set the time out for the duration the text info is displayed in the upper right corner - the custom views? I'm asking for a specific reason: when I'm changing the views for the screenshots purposes I have to wait for about 15 seconds every time I change the view so this text disappears. I'd like to make this time shorter, like 5 seconds. Is this possible? I'm still using v4.

Sorry if a stupid question, am somewhat confused I used to use FsNavigator. Am Guessing FsNav is the Old version to FSTramp what is the subscription about if I pay for one year is that ill get one year of updates but my license is valid forever until I want to upgrade ? or is it after a year it will say you need to buy again? Is it worth it, FSNav was possibly one of the best programs I used to use? Is FSTramp a new company or same developer thanks

Da*n curious has always been my undoing...and I have to admit...and gladly...that the user screen shots look awesome...the world seems to have er, ah..'polish' on everything...and very clear, crisp rendering. So...done like dinner. I have a 3440x1440 wide monitor, so not exactly 4K..and being that I fly mostly VFR and Civil Aircraft...I don't feel that I will be too much OOM deficit. I plan to load in all my Orbx regions, airports, and hopefully the Orbx freeware seaplane bases are ready to go. So...this will be my Friday morning fun-fest. I've been waiting for crossfill support for awhile and it looks like Flight1 still doesn't have this feature. By now, I think it's safe to say they won't ever add this in. I'm not sure if RXP has it or not. But between these 2, who do you think makes the better unit in terms of features and overall performance?

Supposedly we need to manually install simconnect into P3d v5, but how do i know which installer to use? there are several. I am also having trouble installing SODE. I feel like a complete novice right now. Cheers, Pete

379/5000 Hey! I have downloaded Alpha India traffic and have noticed that the aircraft is traveling very fast. They can be in simulator rate 16x speed. Does anyone know if I can set them up so they fly slower, because now that I fly and come in for landing, it can suddenly come across an airplane over me that gets to land before me and it is not so fun when it happens continuously. Hi! The last time i've been flying the electricity have shut down. I do like this: 1- I stand whit my plan on the gate and turn of the engines to use GSX. 2- After like 5min all the panels shut down. I can't see the gps or the autopilot panels. It just turns in to black. I've tested various aircraft, all from the project airbus a380 to a "default" a350. (default i mean whit an a321 cockpit) I can't not use the atc beacuse this. It just says that i don't have any electricity. i've been loocking for an switch but don't find nothing. I am currently mid-download of P3D v5, upgrading from 4.5 like most. I am contemplating a shift from MyTraffic to UTL (Not particularly displeased with MYT but the aircraft models were feeling a bit tired). My question is, does UT support the ability to create new flights? The website doesn't list it, but I remember a very old version did. I can't gain access to the support forums until i've purchased annoyingly. Just don't want to waste £30. I am taking the punt that compatibility with V5 will be trivial. Cheers,

Hi all, got my v5 installed yesterday, so far so good. But now I started to think twice about certain aspects, most of them related to ORBX but applicable for other products: do we basically downgrade our v5 by using global addons such as FTX Global Base or even already by using local addons covering bigger areas than just an airport? Why do I think about this is easy, just go back and check the changelog: "Adjusted autogenerated building height." "Added 5551 texture support to PBR materials." Hi, I have an issue where when I change an aircraft on the ground the sim is unresponsive. The new plane is there but keyboard commands and joystick do nothing. If I go to Task Manager and then back to P3D it is all good. Any ideas to sort this? Bernie

https://www.fsaerodata.com/news Unfortunately it seems fsAerodata will not support P3Dv5. They state that P3Dv5 is up to date compared to the previous versions, however they admit that there are areas that are not 100% up to date. Also, by not supporting P3Dv5 the database will gradually become more out of date compared to the real world. Weird decision in my opinion. It seems to me the second part of their announcement about a new format that P3Dv5 is using for the files that fsAerodata was using, seems the major reason of their decision. I guess it was too much work to change their filesystem. I hope they change their mind in the future.

I'm reading conflicting reports on various forums that Vector is no longer needed in the V5 as LM did a good job with various road networks and coastal lines, but cannot find a solid source (ORBX). Could someone please shed a light on this situation. Thanks
