Luv it when LM adds feature but usually not so when they remove some. Did they move it? Can't find it. I use it just about every time I use FS because of designing/testing especially dawn/dusk/night views. LM, if you are reading this please add this back in at the next point update or some simmer tell me where it is. 😱

Hi. I’ve lurked here since it’s inception way way back. Used to post years ago. I’m a relatively seasoned flight simmer and Real life pilot. Had a few breaks overs the years give or take. I am no computer programmer or anything like that, but I do follow technology at a layman’s level. And I know my way around a PC. I used to use FS9, way back, dabbled in FSX too, and then life took over. I then came back to simming and tried P3DV2, and X-Plane 10. For me, although it had it’s limitations, X-plane 10 changed things. It was good! Then real life took over again, until mid last year when fortune took over and I had the cash and time to start simming…

I tried to install several of my purchased aircraft, but only the A2A installer was able to install planes like the J3 Cub or C182. Unfortunately you will receive a Crash to Desktop, when starting P3D5 and choosing one of those A2A planes. Fortunately in their forum they say: Delete the windshield.dll file and I can confirm: That's it. Simply search in your Windows Explorer for that file and delete it. Theres a new one everytime you install another A2A plane 😉 Ralf

Your PMDG Weekend Update. Today, 09:11 Captains, Like most weekends, this has been a heavy working weekend for most of us at PMDG. Not necessarily because we have some compelling need to work on a weekend, but because with the current state of world affairs, there doesn't seem much else to do, does there? Some quick topical updates for you- and as always- if I don't mention…

I'm really enjoying Prepar3d v5 overall, but the VR implementation is a bit of a mess. Certainly a big backwards step from v4.5 in terms of usability. Having said that, I'm still doing all my flying in v5 VR. I thought I would post as some are having no success at all with VR. Here's my observations, and what I've found that works. Observations: 1. Head tracking causes shuddering that can make VR unusable. 2. Water is problematic - one eye gives massive artifacts when your looking at the ocean. That means I'm sticking to inland flying for now. 3. Stereo mode is non-viable, so you have to fly using single pass mode. 4. Performance is excellent. I'm…

Are there any Addon providers good like A2A or PMDG ? Since when i use their product i hate all others (Virtavia, Aerosoft, Milviz), im a real pilot and when i see a product that doesn't have usable buttons in the cockpit like 90% of the addons i feel really bad.......unfortunately the catalogue of A2A and PMDG is obviously short, searching for other providers, does anybody know others wich are good

Hello, I'm very interested in opinions from users of P3D v5 with older PC systems! I have 12Gb RAM and a i6700K @4.2 Ghz and a GTX 970 So, if someone switches with a relative similar system from 4.5 to v5, please let me know, especially how a full sim with addons behaves. P3D v5 is the first version I will not switch on day one, but think if it makes real sense with my system? many thanks

Okay, so P3d v5 now has a new lighting engine among other fixes / amendments. But lots of people (myself included) on this forum have expressed some doubt in terms of comparing it to MSFS, so far in Alpha. But I was thinking, if P3d subsequently incorporated Google (not Bing, since they are owned by Microsoft) data for mapping the globe, that might bring it substantially closer as a competitor on a feature-by-feature basis. And, since it appears that google data is richer and more expansive than Bing, perhaps it might even have a bit of an edge over MSFS in this regard. I know there are lots of other aspects to consider (AI, flight modelling, weather etc) that …

Hello all, Coming back to Flight Simming hopefully now I have a PC that's a tad upgraded from my old dual core one, that wouldn't handle any payware add-ons, and have been well out the loop with simming. Even got P3D for the last PC, but it wouldn't even load it. My new PC however takes P3D v4.5 in it's stride, uploaded the ORBX scenery on full max and it's good frames, tried a payware add-on, the temporary free Just Flight Hawk to see how it handles, and it's wonderful. Not got any other detailed add-ons yet, that's when the sliders will need to come down! Now, I had FSX:SE on Steam before, it's still on Steam so I can download and install if I wanted to, …

I see P3Dv4.5 has been updated from Prepar3D v4.5 HF2 (4.5.13.32097) to version Prepar3D v4.5 (4.5.14.34698) with no change log.

Hi, I Am still running the 'old' P3Dv4.5 with latest Hotfix 3. What I am getting is an occasional micro flash of a blackscreen with the small reload window (the one with the blue progress bar). It is very quick and lasts less than a second (best guess would be about 0.1 secs). It is enough to be noticed. Has anyone any ideas about cause, effect and how to remedy the problem?

Opinions on this one? Discussing and explanations why you choose "yes" or "no" are very welcome. Also if it means a complete redisign of the present "method" and "possible ways" to avoid other methods than XML

On my Hotas I use a slider for that axis. With it I can smoothly pan left/right. Bringing the slider to its neutral position in V4 also resets the pan to its exact forward position. Now, in V5 the pan does not reset by itself. Video V4: https://vimeo.com/407916801 Video V5: https://vimeo.com/407916770 Does any of you experience the same? Thx, Karl

Hello fellow simmers! I recently installed p3d after using fsx for a long time. I bought ORBX FTX Australia v1 as well as YMML v3 and YMEN. I am a bit disappointed in p3d right now because I am still experiencing blurry ground textures after trying many different common fixes. Here are my system specs Graphics card: ASUS 1070 08G CPU: Intel i5 8600K not overclocked Motherboard: ASUS Z370P RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR4 16GB (2x8) 2400MhZ Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 500GB SSD Here are the fixes I have tried: Fresh install of Prepar3D and all addons Deleting Prepar3D.cfg and letting the game regenerate a new cfg file …

Hi,, this is NOT a plea for help but rather I want to give others a hand who happen to run into a similar issue. My Prepar3d4.4 was running quite well until 10 days ago. That was the point where I started to come to terms with ORBX TE GB South. After endless modifications of settings, I ended up with mixed results. Next time I took off from my testbed, KSFO and the Bay Area, I got shocked, notably about the blurry roads. To make a long story short, this was NOT caused by ORBX breaking my system. Neither were these the "common" blurries clearing up after a couple of seconds. The latter are nearly always caused by your system - and mostly your CPU - not …
