The Introduction Manual suggests disabling the pilot head motion, but doesn't say how to do it. Anyone else "sliding in your seat"?

Asked this a couple months ago in another thread, but thought I'd start a new one just to keep it simpler. In short, I'd like to know how to create a temp waypoint as required for ETOPS operations for the flight plan. From our manual: Create waypoints in the Temporary NAV Database for the Critical Point (CP), ETOPS Entry Point (EEP), and the ETOPS Exit point (EXP) using the latitude/longitude coordinates on the Flight Plan ETOPS analysis. Use the waypoint name CP1 for the CP. Select WPT on the EFIS control Panel to display these waypoints on the Navigation Display. So where/how do I create temp waypoints in the NAV Database using the CDU?

I am having lots of fun an loving the new NGX! Just would like to report a couple things I have found so far.. 3 bugs I've noticed so far is - When switching from LNAV to HDG select and back an forth the NGX can snap violently into the turn, unlike the very smooth normal auto pilot operation at most times. Causes occasional FSX freeze and crashes at random times, hard to describe exaclty the cause I noticed even with 33% fuel and 60% payload that I had a very difficult time achieveing any altitude over 30,000 feet. With N1 at 100% the NGX struggled to get to 39000, was only climbing at around 750 FPM. I have noticed a few others have reported similar issues. Maybe there…

  6. Guys, I have literally been flying the PMDG 737 NGX non stop for two days. Staying up all day and night to fly this wonderful piece of software. This is one of the most complete pieces of software I have ever experienced in any genre. I really could not ask for anything more. As a matter of fact I wouldn't have asked for this... ignorance is bliss I suppose. Thank you all for your effort, and your love of this great hobby. It is obvious that the caring and attention to detail the team put in goes far beyond a paycheck. Great! Great! JOB! I am reminded of a great Wayne Gretzky quote... "A good hockey player plays where the puck is. A great hockey player plays where …

I have just completed my first flight to test out the NGX, KBFI-KBOI. All I can say is WOW. The NGX is by far the best addon ever made. Everything about the aircraft pulls you in; makes you feel like you are in a real NG. Nothing can truly accurately describe this aircraft. No words, none of the screenshots, or any video posted so far, and to ever be posted. Only until you actually step into the NGX do you realize what a beautiful aircraft it is. You can watch a video of all the airline options all day long, but only until you step in and try it for yourself do you realize how incredible it is. Along the flight, I continued to find neat little features that seem insigni…

  8. Hi guys, Just wondering, what sort of performance do you achieve with your first gen core i7's? I have one and i've heard some bad reports about the way they handle this aircraft. I would like to know before i buy this big boy wednesday! Thanks!

  9. Hi, Flew once, very awesome, I can really feel the difference between NGX and previous NGs of any kind. Thanks PMDG! But the problem now is, I downloaded the liveries from PMDG site, did exactly what the intro said. Although the liveries were installed, but they don't seemed to be "activated". By this I mean the folders of liveries are there in the aircraft folder, but the aircraft.cfg doesn't have those liveries added. Another symptom is the livery manager is not showing the newly installed liveries. Can anyone shed some light on this please?OK Did some playing around. It seems when I install a single livery, it works, when I install a second one of the same variant…

I'm having trouble accessing the SUPP NAV DATA page.I found and read both FCOM vol1 and 2 items that refer to getting at the SUPP NAV DATA page and followed the instructions, but I only see the normal REF NAV DATA page.I believe I'm following the rules, ie must be on the ground. I go to the FMC click on INIT/REF button, click the <INDEX LSK L6 , the INIT/REF INDEX page opens I type SUPP into the FMS scratchpad and click the LSK R1 NAV DATA> button and expect to see the SUPP NAV DATA page appear but the REF NAV DATA page comes up. Sooo what'd I do wrong ?TIA

KSFO ILS 28R full procedure (course reversal at DUMBA), chart:http://204.108.4.16/d-tpp/1108/00375IL28R.PDF It flies the hold pretty well... doing 180 kts. So I exit the hold inbound, and change to app mode on my mfd. Low and behold, no ILS needles... hmmm... 1) I've got both freqs set (pilot and fo radio)2) both courses set3) HGS elevation and length set4) both FD's on. Obviously the FMA is telling me something's not right. But why? Look at the MCP, no VNAV/LNAV, no APP mode set. I tried to select VOR/LOC when turning inbound from dumba, but that didn't do anything. So then I just selected APP. The light was on for a few seconds, then off. The plane clearly flew th…

  16. Hi guys, I'm running an i7 2630M on my dell XPS 15 (quite new). I'm getting OK frames but I believe it can do better. I have done nothing to the hardware, but tweaks I've changed some textures around etc with *******'s tweak. I'm interested to know what framerates other people with XPS15 are getting, and what did you do to get that performance? The detailed specs are: GFX: NVidia GT525m, 1.5G memory RAM: 8GB 1333MHz (9-9-9-24) CPU: i7 2630m 3.2GHz stock (sandy bridge core) Screen: 1366x768 FSX: Windowed mode maximized Please, I invite you to participate and also post up briefly your specs and tweaks (if any) that you used to get the performance you did. Thanks

  17. Hey PMDG, First off I would like to say the NGX is an awesome airplane and it has provided many hours of enjoyment so far! I was going to consult to the forum and see if anybody else has had any issues with instant replays? I have used the default FSX replay system as well as using FS-Recorder and both systems do not properly show my aircraft on the replay. The issue that happens is the aircraft is in that total frozen aircraft state during the whole replay. The plane moves in the replay but the engines aren't turning, displays don't show properly, flaps aren't down, spoilers don't deploy or anything. It is like the whole aircraft is just in a frozen state moving along th…

I sent a help ticket already, but can someone tell me what im doing wrong, when I go to download the NGX in the ZIP drive and it gets all the way to 99% done then, all of sudden windows start opening like crazy. Im going crazy, I want to fly this so bad, but I can't even get it installed. It's almost like a virus, but its not I've ran AVG, CC Cleaner,at a loss here. Has this happened to anyone else, I have never had a problem with previous PMDG products, but this is a nightmare. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike Davey 777

Hey everyone, I was debating whether to post or not, but credit needs to be given where it is deserved. Even if this is one of my first post on the forums. After following the NGX for a very long time during the development stages I had heard all about the features, simulations, and so on. Yet, after purchasing this aircraft today I must say that it was well worth the wait! The aircraft met and exceeded my expectations far more than I ever dreamed of! If you are debating whether to purchase this amazing aircraft I would highly, and i mean highly, recommend you to! This aircraft has everything from simulations all the way to personalization (for airlines or even yourself!)…

  22. When first loading up the NGX 800, I noticed I had no flight controls, my hardware did not work including throttles, yoke and rudder peddals. My first thought was FSUIPC and found it now missing from my FSX add-ons menu. I had a list of about 5 items in the add-on menu items before the NGX install and now have only two, ezdoc and ultimate traffic. Before I recover from backup, I am looking fro advice. What happened? Thanks,

  25. First of all, sorry for this squishy title and explanation, I'm still looking for an official document or something like that. It appears that Delta Air Lines' B737-700NG, which they use to destinations as far as Brazil from Atlanta, have gotten extra powerful engines to make this kind of operation possible. However, the engines (at least when the loadfactor is very low) have to be de-rated during take-off, otherwise they would just deliver too much thrust. From all that I've heard, this quite an exception compared to other 73G operators, and I wondered whether his would be included in the NGx (as said, still looking for something more concrete...). Many thanks.
