Grand Caravan for FSX

Fellow bush/cargo operators, as the title says I'm looking for some repaints for the C208B Super Cargomaster as I'm only running the default ones, together with the two (DHL and Fedex) from Carenado. This gives me four variants. I've searched the library and over at the friendly OZx people, but only found tons of (nice) Grand Caravan versions in the list so far.Maybe one of you knows some more sources to search at or points me in the right direction. :( Could be that I'm too blind to see.

I am "trying" to fly my caravan today... I am trying to reach 9,000 with a heavy load and low fuel. After 8000 ft the plane keeps dying. All my anti ice equipment is on and the outside temp is 32 degrees celcius, I have no clouds outside... torque is at 1600 at 7000 ft prop 1700 ITT 650 %RPm is 90... It just keeps dying on me.. Please help.I just saw the condition lever jump to the shutoff position on its own... Thats weird...

Hello!When I load the plane, then after 2 minutes exterior textures disappear. I have a few Carenado aircraft and I had no problem. This is the first time in a CARAVAN! Please help me!Mick

Just bought my first Carenado product yesterday I am really happy thus far with the Grand Caravan! I downloaded it from Flight 1 do I need any of the patches or should I be good to go? I downloaded the improved Garmin 430 but have yet to install it.

I have messed with it quite a bit during flights, but have not noticed any change in any of the instruments, unless of course I bring to idle which shuts of the engine. Other than that it doesn't appear to do anything. What is it supposed to do and how should I set it during cruise?Thanks!

Hello together,I purchased yesterday the caravan via simmarket and have the problem that I only see a blank white Cockpit no texture or instruments. I have the FSX with accelaration pack (SP2) on my disk.GreetingsThorsten

I noticed something odd, in addition to high taxi speed - which requires CL at just barely above cutoff - as previously discussed, and not sure if this is correct. It doesn't feel right...In the air, with thrust at idle, I get a blistering deceleration. However, if I engage full reverse thrust, the deceleration stops, and the plane slowly loses speed. It seem to me with full reverse thrust in the air you should almost fall out of sky. At least it should provide more deceleration than simple idle thrust.

Hi everybody.I'have got C208B HD Gran Caravan and installed as recommended. In my first flight trials, everything seems to work, except for some key assignements in my Yoke that work ok from the keyboard. This doesn't happen with other FSX aircraft.Can anybody help ?.I use: Windows XP SP3 FSX Acceleration Saitek ProFlight Yoke with Quadrant Saitek Rudder Pedals

What are the chances of a Caravan on floats. That would top off an all ready great sim for me.

Is there anyway to make the external power switch work? I'd like to be able to setup the radios, GPS, etc without burning fuel.

I just installed the FSX C208B.But when I load the aircraft, the prop disk is a black....is there a fix for this?Mark

Is there any way to change the direction the HSI heading knob works? The scroll wheel moves the heading knob in the reverse direction to the course knob. I had a quick look at the HSI xml but it looks like both knobs are set up the same. Clickspots work fine but the scroll is 'wrong'. I have re-installed (twice) so I don't think its that.Also how can you change the tooltip for the OBS for nav2? Mine shows the setting for the course on the HSI. Without zooming in a lot its quite difficult to set nav2 course correctly.

I feel I'm doing something wrong when landing the C208B. I just bought it so I'm still in the learning stage. Thankfully I've flown a few other Cessna's in FSX so have a good handle on what should be happening. That brings me to my question. When I throttle back the manifold pressure goes down to about 500 RPM and it just floats over the runway. It won't settle down for a landing and I know ground effect can't be the culprit here. If I try to throttle back anymore it suddenly drops out of the air. That right there is my issue/concern. I can be at 4,000 feet and idle back but once the RPM falls below 500 it won't glide even though I'm trying to settle her down. Instead th…

I bought the RXP 530 when I got my Duke, now I'm thinking maby the 430 would have been a better choice unless someone here can confirm that it is possible to fit it in the 208. The problem is I really don't want to fly without a RXP gns and I really can't afford to buy this plane plus go out and buy another gns. So what about it possible or not.

For all those trying to install the Reality XP WX500 Radar, I got the solution from Carenado. I appears that your can't remove the default radar without causing the instrument panel to vanish, but you can minimize it. I use the Flight1 FS Panel Studio to replace gauges in virtual cockpits. While it's difficult, if not impossible (at least for me), to create a new virtual cockpit with FS Panel Studio, I can still use FS Panel Studio to "swap" gauges in an existing virtual cockpit. I loaded the Caravan Panel and went to the appropriate virtual window with the Carenado Radar, and using the grid, I determined the location and dimensions of the Carenado radar screen. I th…

Hy, just this week, I started using the C208 from Carenado, I love it, works great with W7. My only concern is that the documentation seems lacking. I probably was expecting more than a few pdf's. I was expecting procedures, a POH, a tutorial, perhaps?!I know the C208B is not that complicated, but still I think Carenado could have provided more info. Hello all:I have recently purchased the C208 and the c340 acft and they are awesome (or were!) The first time i rand them they both worked great without any problems. The next day when I tried loading them up, the fuselage, or major portions, and the wing were transparent, showing the inside textures only. I have tried uninstalling both models, I uninstalled and reinstalled SP2 for FSX, and I have checked to insure that HIMEMSYS=1 is stated in the FSX.cfg file. All my other acft as well as other Carenado models work fine. They only thing I can think is different is the HD modeling, but they worked fine for a day...I have seen other posts in forums for the same issue, but …

I tried looking for a Multi-Aero, Inc Repaint for Carenado 208. I cannot find the repaint anyway. So I was wondering if you guys can make the repaint. I just bought the cargo expansion pack and it said that the night lighting of the instruments would now work. The instrument lighting switch is still not functional. I see no change from the original model. What is up?

I'm unable to find an outside air temparature guage on the Grand Caravan in order to do in flight calculations (TAS, max torque at altitude, etc). Am I missing something, or is there no OAT indication in this model?Thanks,GW

I was going to go ahead and purchase this aircraft from flight1, there version is 1.0, what version is this aircraft supposed to be at? Ive been doing alot of reading about patches and fde tweaks so Idon't want to be stuck at version 1.0 if a new patch is out. All the links I have viewed to this so called SP are dead, and there is nothing on the update section of there new site.

Sorry to open this after having posted in one of the other threads, but I am having an issue with taxiing after having edited the FDE as posted here in the performance thread.I find that 1% of thrust sends her up to 35Kts in calm air, regardless of whether I use a Saitek throttle quadrant or just the keyboard commands F1 to F4... The throttle quadrant is calibrated and works well with other addons, and reads 0% when at idle via tooltips...If anyone needs more information, please let me know. I would be grateful for any help... The tweaks really improved the flight characteristics, but is there any chance that one or more of them has affected the ground handling?Andrew

If I look left or right there are strange lines at the left and right edges of the window - upper left corner on the picture. This happens just with Carenado Caravan.
