Grand Caravan for FSX

After the patch things are generally pretty good with this plane, but Istill have a couple gripes.Why does the Garmin not display in the VC, the popup works, but it justlooks dead in the VC? Second, what about the altitude/VS control buttons, is it intentionalthat you cant hit arm/engage ? Comparing this to my F1 Pilatus, that'show I expect this to work.Last problem isn't something that you can 'fix' per se, but I find thatduring normal VC camera positions most the buttons are too hard to read,I end up having to zoom in on stuff, its rather annoying...Overall I feel someone mixed about this plane, were it Flight 1 I mightbe sending it back... but of course its not :(

Hi! I'd like to know if this is a problem, or you really cannot hear any flaps sound in this aircraft? Is it a known issue? I've bought the plane at simmarket. Thanks

Any know a fix for the C208 and C208 Cargomaster for its current flooding issue? I cant find any threads or articles online so far that show if someone has found a fix?! I love the plane and would love to use it on myonline group but cannot due to flooding! Anyinfo someone has would be great, hopefully someone out there knows a fix for it. Thanks!

Hello all. I am considering buying the C208 with the Cargomaster since I am sticking with the default 172 for training (that is in another thread.) I am in need of a good AirHauler Aircraft and I think this will fit the bill providied the FPS is acceptable. So, how are those pesky frames per second with the 208? For pc specs, see sidebar.

Hi to all , firstly I love this plane surely it does work and look realy nice . Aspecially low cruising over Orbx Australia and flying airhaulers makes more enjoyable . To my question I do fly also jst 41, pmdg 747 , c 337 and couple more , but non of them gives any bouncing on landing . This plane it just keeps bouncing half the rw. I am sure it is not my landing there is something with setings or cfg . Please if anybody has idea what it might be . I did install latest up date for c 208b , but it change nothing . Thanks petr .

Just got this and wondering if there is a fix so that the altitude select panel works properly? ARM/ENG/VS SELECTION would be good to have. If there is not, then wondering if the PC12 one will work... G

I've just purchased the C208 HD for FSX. The only pop up I can get for the GNS430 is 'Shift & 1' and on my triple screen set up It is ridiculously wide & flat. Most pop ups are like this on my set up, but I am able to resize vertically & horizontally by putting the mouse cursor on the respective edges. This facility does not work on this Carenado C208. Also it works independently from the panel. For example the panel GNS can be switched on, but when I 'Shift & 1 to bring the pop up, I have to switch on again on the pop up. On the GNS panel I can get the 'ILS arrows' at the 10 mile scale, but on the pop up can only get them at the 5 mile scale which is of n…

I have just purchased the Carenado C208B and installed together with the optional patch. When I select a plane in FSX I only see one variant for this plane and that is a white livery. But in the plane folder I see that there should be more variants to choose from. So why can't I see them? And yes I have ticked the show all variant box in plane selection.

I created a GPU to work with C208 and huge thank you to the brilliance of Doug Dawson who created and share the battery charger dll. so no more depleted battery if you dont have FSUIP4, extended battery life setting or unrealistic aircraft.cfg setting to give you battery life for ever. FSX battery deplete very quickly and if you really take your time with proper start up you would have found that by the time you wnat to start the engines, then your C90 do not have sufficiant power to start the plane current workarounds: - Most use FSUIP4 with setting "Extend battery life indefinately" - Manually add an entry to the FSX plane aircraft.cfg under [ELECTRICAL] sec…

Hello I seem to be having problems installing Active Sky 2012 XGauge into the Grand Caravan C208. I run the XGauge installation wizard using INSERT Mode Window Number 9 for the XGauge. The XGauge wizard appears to install everything ok however when I load up the C208 there is no XGauge pop-up when I hit Shift-9? It appears as if the panel.cfg file is not being edited by the wizard. Anyone else using Active Sky 2012 have this issue with the C208. Thanks in advance. John PS: I also have the F33 and XGauge installed ok there. Can't understand why it is not working with the C208?? Perhaps a dumb :huh: question: After installing RXP GNS430W , I still dont know how do I select between the "native" COMs frequencies (of the build in radios) and the ones from the GNS430? I assume taht a real a/c with GNS430 dont have any other radios anymore! Thanks, HP

Hello All, Please let me know if you have a FSUIPC LAR code for the GCVan's "Stall Warning Sensor Heat" switch. I'd like to map a switch to it from the Saitek Throttle Quad. My searches have come up with nothing - it isn't in the "List of FSX Controls" PDF or in any of the forums I've searched including AVSIM's. I couldn't find anything in the air or cfg files but I'm not very experienced with those products. It could be staring me in the face and I may not notice it... FSUIPC developers referred me to this forum. They didn't have anything for it either. That's not a good sign. Thanks, Mark

I am thinking about upgrading to a Reality XP GPS unit however I am uncertain as to which one (GNS 430 or GNS 530?). What is the difference between the two? Does it depend on aircraft type? I currently fly the Carenado C208B Grand Caravan and the F33 Bonanza and also thinking about getting into the C90B King Air in the future. Will either of these units fit into all these a/c? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Perhaps I am just some sort of moron or something but I recently tried installed the new FDE from the website and could never quite get it to work whenever I loaded the plane I got the duplicate something or another error. Do just copy paste everything to where it says? Do I have to insert test for the repaints into the new config? I'm guessing I'm over thinking it or something because I don't see a ton of threads asking how to install it. It's just that the instructions on the website are vague to say the least.

I thought I would show you folks a preview of the avionics package I'm working on for the new Carenado Caravan.The package is a combination of the Reality-XP GNS 430 WAAS, FlightLine N, and Simflyers GPX-SX packages. There is still quite a bit of work to do to get things scaled and positioned as well as a new night lighting packages to compliment the avionics suite.So, without further ado, here is the preview:

Something just doesn't seem right with the amount of power required to get this thing moving, that's with no passengers and half a load of fuel.

I prefer to set up my aircraft in the "Cold and Dark" configuration. The FSX Carenado C208B defaults to engine running upon loading. Following the Caraendo "Shutdown" procedure from the manual, I should feather the prop. Can the prop be feathered? If so, how? I read elsewhere in this forum that setting the park brake on this aircraft automatically feathers the prop, but I don't see any visual confirmation of that. I can move the Power lever below the notch and into the reverse position (F2), but how do you move the "Propeller 1 Control" lever (teal-colored lever) below the notch into the "FEATHER" position? It also doesn't appear that the prop has any pitch anim…
