I posted this over in the Monitors and Video Card section, but I just wanted to get a broader view of what you guys think of this upgrade, forgive me if this is not allowed here I don't want to break any rules. Hey guys, I am posting to get your guys' input and opinion on a purchase decision. My full rig specs are in my sig, originally I did not plan on upgrading anything until Ivy Bridge comes out, but after watching all of PMDG's latest videos I am contemplating upgrading my graphics card. I currently have an EVGA 275GTX with 896mb of VRAM, and core clock of 648mhz, I am debating purchasing a 560ti Super-clocked,http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814130651. One thing I should…

Hey Guys!I've just posted this topic over in the hardware section but i figured theres alot more foot traffic through here so i thought i'd give it a shot! (feel free to give this the nudge if you feel ive dumped this topic in the wrong Forum)Any ways Im on vacation over here in the United States from New Zealand and i must say that PC components are far cheaper than they are back home so i've gone a little nuts and pretty much spoiled my self to a brand new Rig that i've wanted to construct for sometime. My Specs are in my signature and yes my CPU says 4.6Ghz (im yet to overclock it) but its only at stock as of now. i'll list the followingCPU:i7 2600KMobo: MSI P67A-G45 (…

This is just an observation on the Walk Around Video Made by the AoA Team, Very imperssive, but as a Captain on the B737NG for last 13yrs, the Engine Inlet Probe Caught my eyes. During my walk around of the Real Airplane, I have noticed that Both the Eng Inlet Probe are on the Left-Top-Corner of the Engine, be it Number 1 or 2 Engine, as either engine can be swapped either side ,this is as told to me by our engineering team at the Airline. Over all , I wish to thank the PMDG Team to bring the 737 soo close to the real Machine Capt.Ganesh Tiwari

I was just wondering in my lost and disoriented way, how did a software simulation developer choose the name Precision Manuals Development Group? Is the word "Manuals" in the name referring to reading manuals, or physically working something, like the buttons and knobs or an airplane cockpit?I know they sell some excellent manuals, because I have them for the MD11 and NGX, and I love them, but it seems that PMDG's focus is more on building high quality simulation than producing manuals. Hey guys, I was cruising in the beautiful MD-11 when all of a sudden I jumped 2000 feet and went from 270 knots to ~320 knots. I have FSUIPC and I do have wind smoothing turned on (7 seconds for each knot). I think that it may have something to do with a sudden pressure change. Any ideas? This happened right as REX updated the weather too so I know that that is the cause of the problem. I just don't know how to prevent it. Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone, First of all sorry if I'm posting this in the the wrong place, but I'm sure lots of you guys have a saitek yoke so maybe you can help me. I recently purchased a Saitek Pro Yoke along with the Combat Rudder Pedals to get ready for the NGX. Before the yoke I was playing on a XBOX Usb controller witch was working great but I wanted to up the realism with a yoke. My problem is that the yoke seems to be somewhat late, definitely later then the XBOX controller witch was pretty much down to the millisecond. Everything just feels "slippery" and delayed by a second or so. I know it's not a problem with the yoke because I ran test on it and it is down to the milliseco…

What is the minimum fuel left in the center tank to turn the fuel pumps off to maintain CG?

I read that "Flight" will be more like a game... If Microsoft don't continue to improve their FS towards realism, i'm wondering about whether PMDG could make some aircrafts for other sims like X-Plane or another... Teo Halfen

Someone sent me a link to this 'picture' of a -900 on Boeing's website - it's zoomable, it's draggable, you can walk it through 360 around the plane ... you can zoom in close enough to read every label on the outside of the plane ... it's awesome ! http://www.newairplane.com/737/explained/#/Explore

Hi All - I was just wantching Nick's latest video where he changed the outside temperature in the FMC (CDU) to 57 degrees celsius. However, the N1 is subsequently changed to 88.3 percent. Here is where I am confused. Hotter air is less dense, therefore the hotter the air, the more thrust you will need. I figured putting in a temperature that hot of 57c would yield a much greater N1 level, such as 104 or 105 instead of 88. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks,Kevin M

While looking at ways to get out of Eielson AFB after flying a bunch of military flights, I realized that Miami Air Charter operates a flight from there to MSP. Then, it occurred to me that in 2 days (hopefully), I will have a B738 realistic enough to actually spend 5 hours on. NGX, +1

Considering all the new knowledge you have gained, and all the genius technical inventions you have discovered during the development of the NGX, I was wondering if there is a possibility that you could use this to upgrade the old 747 “Queen of The Skies”. Since the 747 and 737 do have a lot of similar systems (I would guess), maybe you could give the old Queen a well deserved facelift without much work (I would guess there is no need to rewrite the whole code). I have been running the PMDG 737 800/900 on FS9 and XP Pro for a long time. I ocassionally download the latest cycle as I have done with 1013. For some reason, when I planned a trip from KMIA to KATL, I got an error " RWY 28 missing" when I put in the DEP and ARR airports. In addition, there no sids and stars avaialble for KATL. I tried several other airports, and SIDs and STARS were available. Only KATL was an issue. KATL is in fact in the cycle, and was in the Cycle 1013 file in the FS9 directory where it should be. Previous to Cycle 1013, KATL was never an issue. Everything worked well I went back and tried an earlier cycle, and the same error pops up. "RWY 28 not avai…

Hello PMDG team!I'm here not to ask stupid questions but to ask a serious question about your future releases.I'm a big fan of your planes and recently i've switched to X-Plane. With the X-Plane community growing everyday and a huge demand for high detailed planes with FMC I would like to do a formal request to have PMDG make their planes compatible with X-Plane.I think there is a growing market for it (especially now that MS has closed it aces studio). Also keep in mind that x-plane users are great ad serious buyers so I expect these planes to sell like icecream on a hot summerday.I hope you will not put this comment aside and will atleast consider this request.ThanksDav…

I am hoping that when the next version of FSX is released it is 64 bit and that PMDG will migrate all of its products to the 64 bit world as the CPU world is already there. The 32 bit world is very frustrating. On a typical flight as an example from JFK I am running the MD11, REX, RC4.3 and Cielosim in addition to XP64. Even when reducing the sliders I cannot get away from the jerking yet when I look at my CPU and video card usage it is usually less or close to 50%. This is why I think 64 bit products would be so great. Don

good evening/morning/night flight sim world ;-) I spend my evening with watching aviation videos on youtube and found two intersting videos with things of wihich I never heard or seen. the first is a departing 767 in a heavy thunderstorm. the question: is he taking off with extended speedbrakes? is it a special procedure for taking off in heavy rain? the second video is a landing 747 (lufthansa I think) and I ask myself what that system with that mechanic woman voice is ("departing one one" and something after clearing off the runway). thanks for any answers. have a nice night nicolas reich
