I realize that this has nothing to do with PMDG...If anyone subscribes to this magazine and has been wondering why they have not received their Jan/Feb issue yet, Computer Pilot has been sold by PCAviator to Flight! magazine, the German language publication. Next issue is not coming out until late May. According to the recording that they have on their support line, all subscriptions will be extended accordingly. The Jan/Feb online edition that they sent out does not count as another month in your subscription btw.More info here: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?63301-Computer-Pilot-Magazine-has-new-owner

This morning just before 11, KLM's newest 737-8K2 PH-BCB arrived at EHAM.I was lucky enough to be at the hangar where it arrived and was able to request the captain for the used flightplan. For those of you wanting to replicate this flight once the NGX has been delivered, here's the flightplan.I removed the parts where I feel I'm probably not allowed to share it with you. For those of you not to familiar with reading a flightplan, I made the actual route bold. The flight was originally planned to EGPF for a fuel stop and during the flight (they had favourable winds and flightlevels), the flight was re-cleared direct to EHAM.KLM 7453 KBFI/EGPF 26.MAY.2011/2230z [ printed: 26…

This is not a problem but more of a question I had after listening to a RW Pilot and referencing CH 6 in the FCTM. I had heard a FedEX pilot (MD-11 Pilot) say that after landing on certain runways if it was safe they would either decelerate the plane drastically or use less deceleration in order to get to a pre determined taxiway to make the transit from the runway to the hub or ramp faster. If I want to hit a certain High speed turnoff closer to my terminal at say JFK for example is there a formula or rule of thumb I can use to determine how much flaps, spoilers, autobrakes, and etc I should factor in to my pre arrival brief? I also don't want to throw safety and the FCO…

Hi, everyone, I'am a Chinese student who got touched with the official PMDG747 Training Package(DVD). I love this video series so much. But limited by my listening level, I could not catch up with a lot of information which I heard. Here I am asking for you that whether I can find the subtitles for the DVD series? Or Does PMDG or this forum provided the English subtitles for this DVD series ever before? Thank you very much.

My Mrs asked me a while back and some friends "If we were on a plane and God forbid something hyperthetically happened to the captain and f/o would you be able to fly the plane?"Now i say yes with guidance from ATC of coarse, as i like to think with the knowledge i have picked up from simming i could fly and land an airliner!I get asked this frequently from friends and family...Do you guys and what do you answer?BTW, i know its easy to say yes but if in that position with your knowledge......could you?

I was looking through some old screenshots, and found one head on of the old NG. The cockpit crew is unmistakably Captain Picard and Commander Riker. I went back and looked at the current NG, and the cockpit crew look about the same. So, who's idea was that? :(

What is the best refresh rate for the 747 and 737? I set mine around 20-30 but am not really sure of a difference. If i set it to 60, even though I average fps in the 20-30 range, will that make things more smooth or will it slow everything down more? Thanks for any helpDavid

"Feel is a program written for FSX that uses additional physics and sound to elevate almost your entire aircraft collection*, both default and 3rd party. It works at the core of FSX, and therefore does not make any changes to any of your aircraft files (for example, downloaded aircraft paints won't be touched). In fact, we don't need to edit or change a single file in your entire FSX install directory. We instead “read” the aircraft that is loaded, analyze it, then automatically create a custom physics and sound profile that is saved outside FSX. You, the customer, don't even have to know this is all happening. You can just select your aircraft and fly it."Make sure you w…

Hey all, so I have been doing a couple of flights today in my Southwest 737 and LUVing it. BUT I have not been LUVing FSX.......I just bought me a new GOLD version of FSX because my previous one was all scratched up. When I was doing my flights I had never notices how HORRIBLE FSX runs and how slow it is to load things. I mean I have descent frame rates, but the loading of the cockpit and then outside view.....SOOO SLOW....when I go to the out side view it shows me the seats of the plane and then slowly I can start to see southwest colors and when I go back into the cockpit I have a gray screen then it all loads the cockput after awhile. Plus 1 second there is no clouds a…

Hello captains i thought i should know how i feel about this great companyIt aint no secret that we are very spoiled simmers with PMDG we get the best from the best and looking at the competition they are almost close till no close at all especially when we talk about te NGXbelow some facts about the past of PMDGStarting with the 737 NG 1.0 for FS2002/2004 it was an airplane pmdg wasn't really happy with but the truth is that it has been the best selling 737 for many years untill the Ifly came alongThen it was the turn for the the 747-400 still today it is the best 747-400 simulation ever made and the truth learns that no one comes close to it and no one is planning to ma…

I am researching the different options available for me to run an MCP, PFD and ND on a separate monitor run via a second computer. I am very interested in the Prosim 737 system that is available and was wondering whether anyone uses it with the NGX, or is this something that needs to wait for the SDK? It will simply be used as glass instruments and so no hardware will be involved. Cheers guys...

I reset my fsx.cfg upon the many recommendations to do so on these forums, however I am now noticing that on all my planes both stock and addon the ILS cuts out and disappears every time I attempt a standard Cat III auto-land. It has nothing to do with the way im doing it, it is a technical issue. Anyone know why resetting my fsx.cfg would cause this issue and autopilot issues in general? I'm also having issues with auto throttle behaving strangely.

Take a look at this youtube recording. It is a Inflight cockpit video which shows a real Norwegian flight (from ENGM to EDDT) It's an approach . It seems like the A/T is on all the way down to touchdown. From 00:10 you can clearly see that the A/T indicator is on (green). 2500 annunciation comes at 02:25 and the A/P is turned off at 04:06. A/T is still on. 1000 annunciation comes at 04:15. A/T is still on. Landing speed 140. At 05:34 the A/T is turned off. Just after touchdown. I though they turned off the A/T way before touching the ground. How come? geir

Two problems:First, I logged into my PMDG support acount and changed my email address in preferences. Then I puchased the 747x. After downloading the installation file I attempted to install it. On entering the requested info, email, order ID and password, I get a "your user information could not be validated. So I go to support and see that I need to validate the new email address. I have tried several times to validate the new email thru the link in your email but have been unsuccesful. Now I am unable to open a support ticket on the installation problem with the 747x. How can I proceed?Dave

Hi guys, I just followed a great post to http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and it made huge positive FPS performance impacts. I've noticed between a 50 and 100% increase in FPS. It seems that resetting the FSX.cfg file every once in a while is probably necessary?
