PMDG General Forum

Hi all, Looking for some advice here. would you recommend getting a 32inch HD TV or a 27inch LED monitor. i mainly fly the NGX and play BF3. Currently, i have a 22inch samsung monitor and think its about time i upgrade for a more immersive experience. thanks.

I am very glad to see in the videos that the timing and sychronicity of the strobes and beacons is pretty realistic on the 737 NGX. That has been a frustration with me ever since I started the hobby with FS98. How come it took so long for anyone to get that right? The 737 will be my first PMDG plane, so I don't know if they have always done that, and I only hope the Triple 7 gets them right too. That wil be my second PMDG purchase

Hello fallows, i just wanted to let you know, how big the different between led screen and non led screens. i have just gotten a 24 inch led screen, actually it was design for a television, but wow, you can't really compare it to a non led screen like i used to have, which also was a 24 inch. it's a full HD 1920x1080x32, it's like i bought a new video card. i am sorry for being so excited but really it's one of the best things i have ever made for my rig, gear. cheers.!

At least on the JS4100, they will look at you and the FO will wave every now and then as if you were in a shadowing aircraft... And its not his hand motion reaching up to filp a switch on the overhead, he actually "waves" :)

Hello, i have been thinking to myself since i wanna be a pilot when i'll grow up. currently i am 16 and planning on a PPL when i'll be 18, but my thought's about how the future aircraft will look like are not stopping. i mean i am so use to the 737, 757, 767, 747, a320, a340 etc etc.. but i think the future aircraft will be so different due to the oil problem all over the world. is that true? will they bee different then what we know? thanks, and i am very sorry for the dummy question, if it's so so stupid let me know(;.

Hi all wondering if anyone having the same problem or is it just me. I keep getting the 404 error when i usually go to the main page and than select the forum tab. The only way now that i can get in is going to my favourite option where i got a saved forum thread, than i have to select the forum this way. Only takes an extra 5 seconds but was wondering why i cant get in the normal way that i have been using?

Okay guys a little help here. I would really appreciate it. As you can see on my handle, I accidentally clicked 'save' instead of 'cancel' when visiting the settings page a few days ago. I was on the Display Name tab. When you go to that, it has as a default your email address to change your display name to, versus what your current screen name is (my original was wde12). It would not let me resubmit / change back to my original name. The policy is that it allows only one change every 180 days. I'm not a big poster as my profile will show, but I enjoy reading the forum and like to post every once in awhile. The last thing I want is my email showing up every time I…

Hi Guys! I'm currently having problems with my liscence product i tried to reactivate the product PMGD 737NGX but teh sytems told me a invalid liscence and I entered to the support product site to try to get a new ticket for the reactivation but i dont see any icon to adquire that support...if any body had the same problem and got resolved from the support site..please explain to me. because probably i need a new code..

I was on a few 757's and 737's the past few days and I noticed that the trim and such was flipped on the first officers side and wondered if there was any reasoning behind that? First Officer: Captain: On a totally off topic side note, Robert wasn't kidding that the flightdecks get realllllly dirty! Fellow flight simmer/RW pilots, In the next few months I will be investing in a new rig. The important choice I have is whether to build it myself, or pay someone to do it. I know the cost benefits of building one yourself, but how hard really is it? Is it all snap together or all soldering? If it isn't such an impossible feet, I am considering doing it myself. That way I can fly the NGX with fsx close to maxed out. I want to invest a good $1000-1500 into this. An Alienware at about that price will get me 8GB with an i7 3.4 Ghz, but what could a homemade one get me up to? Keep in mind I have never built a computer before let alone broken the seal on one. I'm really curious to how long PMDG have been working on it? I know it was Oct/Nov time they moved everyone to the 777 from the NGX but before that how long was it going for? It's just under a month and I'm actually still in shock of the progress. To think what they could have achieved in that time is actually very exciting! I posted htis over on the NGX forum but my question is related to FSX in general... From what I have heard, FSX does not allow undocked panels in fullsceen!? I have FSX but never tried it since my home cockpit has been based on FS9. Here's my setup, 50inch LCD running the VC (Fullscreen) 3x 15inch screens running PFD ND plus EICAS (fullscreen) Is this even possible in FSX? if not why the step backwards? Cheers

Hi and immediately I apologise for posting here as well as the video card forum but I have had no help from there and I have found no other fix for this annoying bug. So I have the filtering set in the Inspector but it will not apply to fsx. They are exactly the same as what is said on Tabs' post but they don't seem to have any affect on fsx. Late night rant but it has to be said... What's happened to the PMDG forums? While PMDG have gone from strength to strength the level of posts has rapidly declined. I know this is a general forum but I can remember when this used to be a place where I could actually come and learn. Those who know pprune hopefully can relate, apart from the tech log that whole place is a mess due to wannabe airline pilots, simmers and people that generally want to talk garbage just to be heard. Hello all, Like everyone else in here, I have been enjoying flying the Queen since the time she was released. It has been such a wonderful experience doing long haul flights with her and so I am very looking forward to the upcoming 777 and of course the 747 V2 both base on the current NGX engine. Since I am not an expert on the system depth of the 747, to me here are what I want to see in the upcoming 747 V2: 1. Textures with higher resolutions ( of course) , maybe a new VC will be great. 2. Options display in the FMC including load manager and fuel manager, just like the ones we have in the NGX. I found that really helpful for VA flying. 3. Still thinking....m…
