Hey all I just got me a new hard drive :) finally got up to 2TB and I am about to install FSX but I remember awhile back I had read something that Ryan said not to save FSX main folder into like C:Programs Files or C:Program Files (x86) but to save it elsewhere. Well the question is where should I be saving FSX main folder?? THANKS!!!!

Since PMDG has suddenly found themselves in a complete dearth of things to do, I thought I should chime in and offer my suggestions. Clearly, the evidence states that the market for Boeing is dropping drastically, and that the Airbus market is taking a similar down turn. Because of this, and because making small jets is of no use because they will have similarly poor sales, I think that development should take a drastic turn into a different genre. I have included a laundry list of my suggestions at the bottom of this posting. Obviously, everyone has been anxiously awaiting more news about the Woodpigeon and PMDG has been silent on the issue for quite some time.…

Hello, I wonder if you can help me. Ever since I had my computer I've had the problem of screen 'shimmering'. It's very hard to explain what happens. It's not the cockpit screens, but the actual screen itself. When I pan around I get what seems to be shimmering, like lines going across the screen, transparent lines. It's very difficult to explain. Have you experienced it and if so do you know how to fix it? TIA, Dan

i wonder if there is a way of adding an ILS frequency to fsx. The last flight EGGP-EICK had me using RNWY 35 at EICK and no ils/vor showed up on the instruments. the VOR frequency did not engage either. I tried looking at the fsx map and zoomed in as far as possible, but could not see if there was an ILS frequency. the navigraph has it as a runway ILS frequency. thanks

I am currently flying the 747-400x , the MD-11x and the 737NGX with PMDG... and I am absolutely loving them :) But I cant help feeling sorry for poor Airbus amongst these popular airliners . The FSX addon industry has yet to produce an high fidelity addon for the largest and possibly the most advanced commercial airliner in the world ... The A380 Airbus. So im putting this thought out there to the best in the business and to any customers of PMDG. What are your thoughts?

I couldn't find info on this, but I was wondering if the PMDG 747-8 remake will also include the 747-8F. It would go along great with the 777F and whenever airlines start purchasing 747-8Fs.

Flying in PMDG aircraft is about as close to reality as your going to get, you really do feel as if your in the flight deck of a real aircraft. But the lack of a weather radar? That's an immersion killer :Straight Face: ... I understand its most likely an FSX limitation, but flying with the IVAO you get a working weather radar that uses FSUICP... so could PMDG planes be FSUICP weather radar compatible? Couple months back I got my new Asus Laptop, has an i7 up to 3.1GHz. I was just wondering why the Turbo Boost doesn't ''Fully'' click in on FSX? I get around 2.8Ghz which isn't bad I mean I can get around 40FPS with an addon Aircraft & Airport so not to massive of a deal. It would be nice to know if I could use all my Laptops power to get a few more Frames. Especially once the 777 comes out, if it's like the NGX should be fine though. I'm not sure on Over Clocking, I don't know how ha and I wouldn't want to mess anything up. Cheers!

I fly virtual fly a few hours a week. I was wondering what a work week of a commercial pilot looks like? How many hours do you fly on an avarage day? Where do you fly to? Do you fly more than 1 flight a day? How many hours do you spend on preparing for a flight, etc. What are the differences for international and domestic pilots? Since there are a lot of people with real life experience I thought this is the place to ask. Can anyone tell?

Hi there everyone, Its been two years since I touch my Flight sim however I am coming towards the end of my Uni years and have decided to go full out and purchase a very decent FSX PC. Dear all, During the Aerosoft Convention in Munich, R Randazzo was announcing the development of a product for X-Plane. In the same breath, he smiled at the crowd saying that some big changes are awaiting our community. After the release of MS Flight, I think that we can state that this product is definitely not for our community. Are we all switching to X-Plane from here to 2015? As I'm sure most of you know the FAA is proposing that all first officers in Part 121 operations should hold an ATP certificate, along with having a minimum of 1500 hours. As someone who someday wants to become an airline pilot, this new legislation would almost make it financially impossible for me along with most others. I bought the MD11 in the weekend, started studying and today i flew the tutorial. I'm amazed with it!! I had never bought a PMDG Product since i'm more an Airbus guy and the props don't interest me, but after hearing so much good stuff about the MD11 and watching youtube videos i bought it, and it'll do perfectly until the 777 comes out!! I don't understand how it isnt more popular, its a great airplane! Now i completely agree with an update on the MD11

Hi guys!Growing up in the 80s and having a father who worked for 39 years at LH gave me good oportunities to fly good old classics. Namely: DC-10s, 747-200s, DC-8s.....I really like the idea of a lot of automation, HUD, RNAV and RVSM but IMHO needing to "think ahead" of the situation, work like a crazy on VOR Course needles, HDG bugs, etc... that's what I call real flying and "being in control" of the situation.This Video this gives me goosebumps!! One of the biggest turnoffs for supercharged piston props for me in FSX is the FA ratio modeling. In a supercharged engine it does not get richer as altitude is gained except above critical altitude and as a ratio of power output during lower power operations at high altitude with lower turbocharger output (less exhaust) or through to low of an RPM. but all of the FSX supercharged piston aircraft will loose a large amount of power every 3000 feet unless you pull the mixture back. By 10000 feet it practically in idle cutoff. This is pretty unrealistic for a normally aspirated engine as well even though with those it does get more rich with altitude. I am really looking for…

Hi all, I've just bought a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit system. I've already had several issues with this system and I'm beginning to hate the OS. So far, the PMDG planes I have are working okay. But when I installed the 737 800 and 900 series, the style menu is totally different from that when it was in Windows Xp. The appearance appears to look like a Windows 7 menu instead of the original PMDG menu. Is there anything I can do to make it look the same as it did in Windows Xp? I've been hearing different things about the Windows 7 OS system but I'm not familiar with all of it's bull crap that Microsoft has put in their OS. For example, I have the Flight1 727 and w…
