In order to test a few things this morning on a break from work, I took the little football up for a quick spin. Out of the corner of my virtual eye, I noticed something over on the FO's display. Knowing that movement is usually what catches someone's attention, what is going on here, and what changed? Hint: It's on the ND, but I'm not talking about the 777-style terrain detail. Hint 2: If you still haven't gotten it. It would be a little easier to see had I made a video from this. Speaking of videos, this may seem boring to some of you, but I found it to be a little mesmerizing. I let the sim run, and recorded it, while I was working my other job. The …

With the next little update of the NGX, if possible, can you put a small com/nav pop up panel like in the T7? (The one that pops up when you hit the mic button on the glare shield). I find it really nice to have since its doesnt block your whole view rather than having the whold panel on the NXG current 2d panel.

Does anyone know how to create or have the Navdata for the old Quito Airport? Since I still have the excellent Quito scenery from Borisforero I would love to fly in and out of it with my PMDG birds.

Captains, There is quite a bit of misinformation floating around, so if I may please, allow me to correct a few facts. (I am not trying to change anyone's opinion here- but at least be mad at PMDG for factual reasons and not something someone made up. B) ) We occasionally see these moments where a bunch of folks will run off half-cocked with information that they don't even realize is bogus... So let me set some facts out to make sure we are all at least well informed. When we announced development for P3D 18 months ago, we were very candid about the fact that our P3D products will be significantly more expensive than our FSX products. This is true because we en…

I'm probably about to re do my hard drives to switch to SSD. As part of this, I'm going to either do separate FSX and Windows Partitions or actual drives. I've read a fair amount online that suggests 60 to 80 is more than enough for Windows 7 (minimum size of 20, tripled or quadrupled), but how much space should I give to FSX?Between the program itself, and the usual (and growing list of addons) UTX >X for US and Europe, REX 2.0, couple add-on airports from FS Dream Team and others, Ultimate Traffic 2, all current PMDG FSX aricraft, a couple other aircraft, FS2Crew, etc., etc, etc., this is a large collection of stuff. How much space do I really need? Is there …

Hi guys , first of all , sorry to post this in this forum but i only fly pmdg and hope you can help me with this, I m thinking a long while for upgrading my system for the last time I m runnung a watercooled oc i7 3770K at 4.5 with a GTX680 card , and thinking in upgrading towards a GTX980 and i7 4790K or a i7 5820K , i know fsx and P3D are cpu bound so gonna oc these also , allready read on the net the max oc possible but every chip is different , i know . My question is wich chip should be the best buy for the future , maybe towards a 64B platform , are more cores important at that time or frequency . Thanks in advance , Gérard van Veldhoven

I don't know if some of you have noticed but I have found weight discrepancies, for example, with the PMDG 737 and the PMDG MD-11. I'll use the PMDG MD-11 as an example. In the MD-11 aircraft.cfg. file, it shows the maximum gross weight is 633,500 lbs, In the PMDG MD-11 Load Manager, it shows that the maximum weight is 630,500 lbs - marked in blue. That is a difference of 3,000 lbs. I don't think the max gross weight shown in the aircraft.cfg means the maximum ramp weight and it would have stated that. You'll notice that the load manager assumes 1,500 lbs for taxi fuel so using the 630,500 lbs as the max for take-off, the max ramp weight would be 632,000 lbs, or 635,000 l…

Captains- This evening I have a couple of news items across a couple of different product lines. PMDG 737-8900NGX Base Package and PMDG 737-600/700NGX Expansion FSX/FSX-SE: Up until yesterday, we had expected to push the FSX/FSX-SE compatibility update out to you either tonight or Saturday morning, unfortunately we have run headlong into a bit of a kneeknocker that is going to add a few more days to the development/testing timeline for the FSX development team. Our plan right now is to build a new test version on saturday evening, then another on Sunday evening. If both of those versions hold (and we think they will) we are going to give our beta testers abo…

I´m sure you all love the 737NGX as much as I do! As we know a 737 SP2 is not as high on the list as other great projects right now. But if there where development capacities in future, 1. which features would you like to see in the 737 and 2. how much would you pay for a upgrade? 1. I would love to have - a improved FMC (custom waypoints) ( ) - low speed protection with the SPD mode deselected on approach ( A/T in ARM) - weather radar 2. As it needs a lot of additional work, I would definitely pay 50-100$ for a upgrade! Cheers, Berni

Morning all, Just wondering if anyone has used Jetline Systems to built them a flight sim PC before. Was looking for positive / negative feedback and how the rig is running. Spoke to them on the phone and it seemed legit and I like the fact they break in the PC for you and tweak it but curious about your experiences. Please DM me with your feedback. Thanks in advance and fly safe. DR

Captains- A few moments ago, we have made live the PMDG 777-200LR/F Base Package for Prepar3D and PMDG 777-300ER Expansion for Prepar3D! With these two releases, we officially kick off what we anticipate will be an exciting new period of development for serious flight simulation on a serious, enterprise-targeted simulation platform that is growing, improving and under continual, active development. The PMDG 777 product line in Prepar3D is a direct descendent of our seventeen years of development dating back to our first product in 1997, and represents the foundation for our work to expand our product capabilities beyond the limitations imposed by older simulat…

Last week, you all got a look at the NGX with some SP1d updates. This week, you get the NGX in P3D. Today's route was IAD-RDU-DCA to get a couple flights in and test the aircraft on the turn. This picture is on the OJAAY STAR into DCA, and thanks to ASN's newest Beta supporting P3D 2.5, you can even see a little bit of the weather radar in action to the east (and the fact that the wind is absolutely ridiculous at even mid altitudes today). The main focus of this picture - and the reason I flew the flight with a 12 hour offset - was to show you the shadow play that Carl had written so vividly about when we were testing the 777 in P3D. So, here ya go:

Hi, During my reading of "PMDG 737NGX" Tutoial 2 I read about "noise abatement" and the information tha I have to enter in CDU. My question is : is there any site that I can get such information, beacause on the charts there is not, for example for EHAM I found this info at "http://www.boeing.com/commercial/noise/schiphol.html", but what about other airports let say LGRP (Rodos/Diagoras) or LGAV (Athens/Eleftherios Venizelos). Thank you veri much Pericles

Hello, I don't write very often in this forum but I am reading silently daily. There is something I have seen on facebook that seems to be weird to me and I would like to inform you and report (forgive me if I am breaking some rules). So I have seen a link : www.pmdgsimulations.com who leads to a website that looks like very similar to the official PMDG website : www.precisionmanuals.com. If it is a fake website (if someone from PMDG can confirm), be careful guys...!!!! Or maybe is it an official mirror website ? Stephane

Currently on FSX SE the only PMDG aircraft that is installed is the 777, and I still get the PMDG options error, if I click, run anyway, FSX will close immediately. Anyone know what to do about this situation? Patrick Boynton

Just had to comment on my first PMDG airplane - the 737 NGX. I was a bit worried that the 737 would be too "serious"of a plane for me since I usually fly GA using the GPS. Well, I am now addicted to the FMC , flight planning and those SIDs and STARs as well. I recently retired and now find myself spending hours digging into the almost infinite detail provided by PMDG. My only complaint is that now all of my other planes seem like toys compared to the PMDG 737. I now plan to purchase the 747 and 777. This should keep me busy waaaaay into my golden years. Thanks PMDG!

Captains- When we updated the Operations Center a few days ago, I accidentally broke two important functions that were fixed in an update that we just pushed out to you via the auto-updater. The two functions were: 1) Automatic repair of the aircraft.cfg file to repair installed liveries. 2) Manual installation of liveries. We got a nice email from Alex Farmer (GoldStar Textures) explaining what he saw happening- and since this is an important capability to keep guys like Alex moving forward- I have spent the entire evening tonight making sure we got a fix rolled out ASAP. The OC is serving as a good test process for us right now as we build toward p…

I was thinking about our flight sim community the other day, and about how varied it is. Looking at the screenshot forum, you can quickly see that each person has a specific desire flight simulation fulfills. We obviously all have one common denominator, a love for aviation. But after that, we all go about it in slightly different ways So I'm posting this question, to see what people in the PMDG community do with their simulation/aircraft. Me for instance, i like to fly for one airline. Before I purchase an aircraft, the 777 for example, I look at the operators and their route structure. And using personal preference and destination options, I either pick an airline o…
