Hi, I wish that pmdg would release or consider releasing so called light versions of product. I'm not really interested in full ac simulation or failures in general, all I neec is to program, load and fly from a to b. Of course flying and air data and plane behavior is important. Did pmdg ever comment on that? Besides the above, I love flying 737 & 777.

I specifically want to post it here on this forum, I would like to hear the experts' opinion (PMDG-pilots) about the QF757 package and whether or not they use such a software. Right now I am not talking about the simplified systems and the fact that it is a "light" software, that's not the end of the world although sure upsetting. What I want to stress on is realism, something doesn't seem going well, could be me, but no one will say it better than PMDG users. Things like... let's say... a VNAV, it does set the climb/crz speed, but upon reaching the set altitude VNAV doesn't reduce the thrust and the aircraft continues to accelerate. And generally the autopilot is very s…

I know another developer is doing the 787, but by their own admission it will not be to the same level of detail we've become accustomed to with PMDG so what do you think?

I've been reading some posts about what some simmers want to see in a future NGX update, such as .wx import from PFPX or ActiveSky. This article mentions AS as being the latest airline to want to upgrade to the scimitar winglets that will be used in the MAX. UA is currently using an -800 for FAA certification since they are the first customer. http://www.businessinsider.com/alaska-airlines-boeing-737-scimitar-winglets-2013-10 So my questions: - Does PMDG have to enter into a new agreement with Boeing to get the new perfromance data? - How long does it take to update the external visual model? Just curious. Happy flights!

Hello, I've been trying to download SP1D for the 737NG base pack and there is a link that tells me to login first. When I do so, I'm directed to my account, so I then try to click again on the service updates tab and it tells me to login again, and so on. How can I get the latest service pack? Thanks Renato De Marchi Cano

Hey, I recently saw a post on here where everyone was debating through their ears about what's what in a takeoff. Now granted that the various jurisdictions have varying rules and standards, take-offs are pretty darn similar from one country to another. Here's a quick guide to takeoffs, and what goes into getting the plane into the air from a performance standpoint (not hitting things): All-Engines Operative Take-Off (stupid simple): Cross the Threshold of the runway at at least 35 feet Don't turn below 400ft AGL Climb at 200ft/nm, (3.3% gradient), or at a gradient that's listed in the SID for obstacle clearance requirements. One-Engine-Inoperative (OEI): (fo…

Hi all, I was re-installing my Windows as well as my Sim, and after I finished, I noticed that the PMDG Operations Center had installed itself onto my Solid-State-Drive (SSD). Now, my SSD is where my Windows is installed, too - I guess that's why PMDG moved the OC there. But space on most SSDs is limited, and I don't really see why the OC would need to be on the same drive as Windows. So, if anyone cares to enlighten me...is there a way I can change the OC path?

Hi, ILS CAT 1 I use ASN and i always get VIS (etc. 4000-10000) in the RAW data but i sometimes confuses this with RVR which i know is another instrument along the runway. My problem is therefor when i for -instance see OVC001 in the METAR and no VIS-RVR measurement i dont know what i should do if the DA is 210 feet ? I read that normally the RVR in same condition is higher than ceiling and therefor allow pilots to land below ceiling. Can METAR be OVC001 and still VIS 4000? Thanks Michael

Hi guys Im loving the NGX/777 in P3D but I still use FSX. I always use PFPX for flight planning these days and was just wondering if it would be possible to move the PMDG flightplan folder to a generic place like My docs. A certain Airbus has this setup and therefore PFPX exports one flightplan which can be loaded in both sims as a co-route direct from the 'CDU'. Currently I have to change the folder manually before exporting my flightplan from PFPX depending on which sim im using. Not overly an issue I know but was just an idea. Hopefully it wouldn't need much recoding to complete for a future update. Keep up the great work. Can't wait for the 747v2 Elfyn

This tweak has been discussed on the Prepar3D forum so I thought I would give it a try. In the Prepar3d.cfg file, under [sIM], try OPTIMIZE_PARTS=1 I don't know all the ramifications of this tweak but it increase the FPS by 40-50% on my system. With a EVGA GTX970, I was getting to 70-80 FPS in spot view using the PMDG 777 (frame rate set at unlimited).

Hoping this is the right place to post this... Can someone shed some light on this for me? What's the best AI Traffic solution for P3D 2.5? I'm amazed at how little is currently out there on the market.

Hello all, Like many, I am considering moving from FSX to P3D. I'm in the process of determining the total costs before proceeding. As I would like to take advantage of PMDG's discounts on the 737 and 777, my research has been accelerated by the impending "deadline." Canadians such as myself are, as some may know, suffering from the Canadian dollar, which is currently at a record low. Thus, I am curious; are the prices in the PMDG shop listed in USD? I cannot remember if they were when I originally ordered the 737 for FSX. Thanks, Matthew Kraemer

I flew the SEEVR1 RNAV Arrival into KDFW tonight with no traffic anywhere to justify the speed restrictions on the arrival. I did still want to comply with the altitude restrictions. But... I couldn't figure out how to either A) Delete just the speed restriction on the pre-populated VNAC restrictions. B) Enter altitude restrictions as between two altitudes - or - What is the correct way to do either of these? E.g. FEWWW.SEEVR1 has a restriction at NECKK to cross Below FL280 and Above FL240 at 290KIAS. In the FMC legs page this was represented as 290/240 280. http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/KDFW/STAR/SEEVR+ONE+%28RNAV%29 As a work around, I c…
