Hi,let's say I cruise with VNAV and LNAV engaged and want to change cruise alt from FL330 to FL350 for some reason. To do so I change the MCP alt to 35000, upload this number to 1 LSK on the FMC crz page and press the exec button. But nothing happens. I have to change the vertical A/P mode from VNAV to LVL CHG to get the A/C climbing. After reaching the new alt I engage VNAV again. Is this the coorect procedure?Regards, Tom.

Perhaps this question is borne of my ignorance of the proper operation of the ng in vnav descent, but I repeatedly have problems when I get to 10000 ft. At tod I reset the mcp altitude to (say) 3000 and undertake a normal descent in vnav mode. At 10000 ft vnav disconnects and switches to speed/alt. This would be ok, except I end up in a 6000 fpm descent. I have to repeatedly hit the vnav button (it illuminates and then goes back to speed) until after a while it switches back on.I've read that vnav may not be the norm for descent ops, but rather vs and/or lvlchg.Am I doing something wrong??Also had a weird problem last night. Hello everyone. The US Airways livery from the PMDG site is awesome...except that the color of the flag on the tail and fuselage is wrong. It is supposed to be grey instead of white. Not a major problem but one that I would like to fix. I don't know a thing about repainting but I do have Paint Shop Pro 8. Does anyone know how I could just change the color of the flags to grey? It doesn't seem like it would be to difficult if someone could point me in the right direction. Thank you!BrianRichmond, Virginia USA

Anyone flown the ziggy.ziggy3 using the PMD transition to KONT 26R?The FMC programs what in my estimation is an unusual FAF after crossing ils intercept for 26R. Hi,Somebody is probably going to tell me to RTFM and fair enuf too (Just tell me where to read! cos I couldnt find it) But when I tune into an ILS and put the Course into the MCP, select FD and APP mode but no CMD on the autopilot I cannot get the FD to give me course guidance. Is this usual? I get the LOC/GS indications but the FD just sits there doing nothing.RgdsTIAScott Stephens

The landing lights seem to be connected with the cabin lights. Is there a fix comming out for this or am I doing something wrong with the light switches?

I was just wondering what the main differences are between the 737-600 and 700s in the real airline world? Is the 600 used more domestically and the 700 for across the ocean to Europe, etc? I have a video of the Boeing Business Jet which is a 700. Is the 600 ever used on long hauls? Just wondering from an airliner's standpoint, what do they look at before deciding which one to go with? Gents,There have been reports of wierd behaviour of the aircraft when rudder is applied. The reports were valid under a specific set of circumstances. The problem has been identified and fixed for an upcoming (within a fee days) mini-update. Here follows a small technical "briefing" for this issue.In practice this anomalous behaviour required the following :(1a) Significant amount of rudder(1b) Aileron the other way (i.e cross-controls)(1c) Sustained application of cross controls for over 5 seconds (i.e.combination of (1)+(2))Behaviour :(2a) If attitude (pitch) was maintained above a very narrow FS defined limit zone the plane accelerated unreasonably.(2b) If attitude was…

Has anyone been having problems with departure and arrival info in the FMS for Boston (KBOS)? With FSBuild flight plans I've done for departure or arrival from/to KBOS I get one of those "error in line 3..." messages and do not have any choices for departure or arrival runways or procedures. It's probably an error in the SID/STAR file from posts I've seen here, so does anyone have a fix?Thanks

Hi,After a three year break from flying on the PC, I have taken up this addictive pasttime one month ago. After reading posts regarding many problems with PMDG, I have decided to buy the PMDG 737NG anyway and give it a try. I have just finished the tutorial flight and I must say it was fantastic. I used to use EFIS98 with FS98 a lot so many things were very familiar. Now I use FS9, FSNavigator 4.6, Radar Contact v3.1, EHAM add-on and PMDG 737NG on a Windows98 machine (with the gdi+.ddl in the FS9 root folder). Hi,My aircraft won't pick up the localiser anymore. I just got done flying my first flight with RC and PMDG and I have a question. As I was flying into MDW I was trying to tune my radios and it seemed that the ability to tune the radios was disabled or not working some how. I would open the radio panel and try to use the mouse to tune the frequency and nothing would happen. In addition, a few of the other common buttons I use were not working like P to pause the sim and Shift-Z to check frame rates. When I pushed the P button it would engage the CWS A function of the autopilot and when I pushed the Shift-Z combo it would increase my MCP altitude by 100 feet.Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, is there a way to…

Not saying that the PMDG sound is bad, but I was wondering if you could download other NG sounds from AVSIM or even Ariane and have it work with the PMDG? I heard Ariane's NG sounds are incredible. Let me know. Brad

Hi,I downloaded the 600/700 paint kits and a few tutorials from various sites to try and have a go at doing a repaint for myself.Subsequently opened the files in Photoshop (per the tutorial) and immediately came up with my first question - 1. I can see all the rest of the bird, fuselage, wings, tail, windows, gear, details, but where is the nose in all that? Thanks in advance. Mike

hii just upgraded my video card to ati 9800pro and performed a clean install of winXP and fs2004 and pmdg737ngthe system that i am running is P4 2.61G ram 3200ati 9800 prowith dual monitors 19in lcd and 17in lcd secondary (from same card)this is what i am experiencingwhen i run fs2004 then load PMDG then choose 700 model and then airport the plane appears on the runway no problemthen i try to open a new view and unlock it to create a movable window then drag this new window to the second monitor and the fs2004 main window goes black/dark and the fs2004 program locks up.now if i do this with a cessna airplane and open a second window then move it to second monitor everythi…

Hello PMDG folks ...I have a list of preferred routes in an SQL database, and I've created a simple Visual Basic utility to search them. Now I would like to add the ability to export the route in .rte format for loading into the 737NG FMC.I've done some searching, but I cannot find the specification for the file format, and I don't want to just guess by looking at existing plans. Could I get a copy of the spec for the .rte files?Thanks in advance!P.S. - I'll share the utility with the PMDG customer community when it's complete.
