Hi, Sometimes I fly at low altitudes hugging the terrain. For this I prefer the flattened photoreal scenery to the fake artificially generated scenery so I have been using ortho4xp. However I am getting an unattractive boundary between water and land (see photo) in the resulting simulations and I don't know where it is coming from. Can anyone tell me if there is an option in ortho4xp or in x-plane that will eliminate this? I am not using the overlay generated by ortho4xp. My graphics settings are: visual effects = high, texture quality = maximum , use Vsync is checked. Everything else is minimal or unchecked. Any suggestions on different setting…

Hi, I went through the ILS landing tutorial on the x-plane "Flight School" and now I want to program the navigation system so I can make ILS landings at an air port I choose. Is there any documentation on how to do this? Yesterday I did the VOR tutorial and was able to find VOR frequencies (https://skyvector.com) and documentation on how to input them into the navigation sytem (https://x-plane.com/manuals/G530_Manual.pdf) on the plane (the Cessna Skyhawk). I also found useful information on the autopilot (https://www.x-plane.com/manuals/S-TEC_Autopilot_Manual.pdf). Today I can't find anything to help with configuring ILS landings. Do you look u…

I've been having on and off problems with my keyboard not working, and I can't figure out why. Flights start out okay, but soon after takeoff, the view keys, gear keys, flap keys and most other ones just stop working. I've tried to backup and restore my prefs in the ZIBO, but the problem keeps happening. Any ideas as to what's causing this? The keyboard works fine outside of X-plane, I'm typing on it as we speak while the sim is running. Perplexed, John

Hello, I haven't been able to locate any info on this, but is it possible to set up a XPlane 11 profile for a particular aircraft where sound settings/volumes would be saved, similar to keyboard/joysticks? I've got some aircraft where sounds are pretty different volume-wise, so was wondering if there is a way to auto-adjust settings where the aircraft is loaded. Thanks, mike

Hi, I am trying to generate scenery for x-plane with ortho4xp. I believe I have done it correctly adding the tile and overlay to the custom scenery directory of my x-plane installation. I see a difference when I run x-plane after adding the generated scenery so it is seeing the files. My question is what to expect from this. I want to have real individual buildings like single family homes, like the house I Iive in appear in the scenery when I fly low in an ultra light aircraft. Hello sim community, So I made a shift to x-plane 11.41 from P3Dv4.5 and I can say I am amazed about it, especially the fact that I can easily write my Lua plugin to manuplate anything I want!. I am trying to set my x-plane 11 to the ultimate settings that I am happy about, my PC specs are: i9-9900K OC to 5.0ghz 32gb RAM RTX 2080 with 8gb memory oc 1TB SSD 4TB HD (that contains P3D and X Plane) And I am using a 2k resolution monitor. Hello everyone, I recently had some spare money to spend and decided to give Xplane 11 a try. I already figured out how to install plugins and set it up pretty user-friendly. It actually has a higher FPS than my FSX setup with -of course- a lot better graphics, at least on the airplane side. Especially the default 737-800 caused a massive wow-effect for me. However I need some recommendations: - Is there anything similar to fspassengers? I know there is a plugin for on-board sounds but I kind of miss the career setting, the purchase of aircraft as well as the degradation and damage simulation. - Any good traffic addon to set up and go with it? Anybody flying this rather fine plane I get everything to work except for ground steering. Can only get a very wide circle-not much use from a standing start! Am I alone with this problem? Any tips? xxd09

Hi pilots, since a few days I‘m a proud owner of the Airfoillabs King Air. After the first flight it looks overwhelming to me but I‘m learning the systems step by step. Very high workload compared to the usual Bizets but very immersive and very well done.

This is a question to the general flight sim community that applies to any flight sim, not just X-Plane (which is what I use). It is sort of "hardware" related. I admit it's a stupid question but I am seeking an answer/ideas from any of you who may have had to address this: How do you deal with using an office/game chair with rollers on a wood floor (no carpet) and the use of rudder pedals? I have great rudder pedals MFG Crosswind V2) that don't budge when I push on them. However, when I do, my nice, comfortable Lay-Z-Boy chair moves back away from the desk (as well as the yoke and rudder). Imagine flying a real Cessna 172 and every time you push the rudder pedals, …

Hoping Someone here can help a FSX transferee to XPlane 11. I have a Saitek Pro Stick and Throttle which I have used to set up the Aerosoft Twin Otter Betta and Reverse thrust using FSUIPC in FSX no problem. I have attempted to do the same with the RWDesign Twin Otter V2 but am struggling to find a sweet spot for both Beta and Reverse thrust. I have set up the Carenado PA31T using the XPlane Defaults by ticking the XPlane "has beta/reverse detents" box and very pleased with that but don't seem to be able to emulate that with the RWDesign Twin Otter. If anyone has been able to set it up I would very much appreciate a steer in the right direction. Cheers…

I have a frequent problem that I am beginning to think is caused by my MSI GTX 1060 6GB GPU. My system (i5-6600K 3.5Ghz, 500GB Samsung SSD, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060, GB GPU) runs X Plane 11 very good EXCEPT that I often get a crash when going to Chase view mode. There is no .rpt file in in the Crash Report folder and no sure way to repeat -- it is totally random. I know there are some issues with the 1060 such as the card will not reawaken my monitor from sleep and when I get the XP crash the card loses signal to the monitor and I have to restart the computer which leads me to believe the crash is GPU related. Any ideas? Thanks

After the dissolvement of Icarus Simulations and the shut down of the site, the P.180 Avanti was not available. Now it back! The GTN 650 download wrapper (for installing to X-Plane) will not find my Windows "Desktop" where X-Plane is installed on my computer. It only identifies drives A and B. The Desktop folder does not appear in either of those. What is required or suggested so the install program will allow me to identify the Desktop folder where my X-Plane folder is located?

I have reported a bug with the G530 in the Baron 58 but have received no acknowledgement or response. Can anyone tell me what to expect time wise regarding resolutions of such? Thanks, Dave

I just received an update for the rxp GTN 750 (mod date 11/14/19) and am confused as to what to do with it. The only option that I can see when I crank up the .exe is a "reinstall". Any help is appreciated here. Thank you.
