I am running the current release version of X-Plane and will soon take delivery on a new computer. I seem to remember that X-Plane doesn't alter the registry when you install it. That being the case, will I be able to copy my X-Plane folder from the old machine to a thumb drive (I have one big enough) and transfer it to the new machine or will I have to run the installer on the new machine? My install is stock except for X-camera and one payware plane. If there are any config files in the documents folder I will move them as well.

Hi gents ! This is really pure joy: After the release of LFLJ Courchevel Airport John Venema has announced the release of Courchevel's counterpart and adjoining altiport LFKX Meribel situated in the French Alps. Taking John Venema at his word, he stated three hours ago: But I must correct him at one point, because he also said: From the perspective of my own lifetime experience I must say, that the approach of Meribel is even more difficult, because this altiport is significantly worse to spot (particular during bad weather), compared to Courchevel. (all following pictures are from the link above): The next X…

Global SFD will be the best $30.00 you will ever spend on XP11. Totally transforms areas not covered by anything Ortho4XP or Orbx regional. I purposely crossed over the most northern boundary of Orbx's Washington TE, and where before adding Mister X's Global SFD, to the mix...was hurtful to the eyes...and I generally turned back. Now...it seems almost seamless. I've been flying over and past Vancouver Island...and the whole dreadful default 'everything' is gone...the quilt-work fields, and all replaced with very nice, ground cover, and excellent art additions, homes marinas, ships, everything. Again, the best $30.00 you can throw at anywhere XP11 'default'. Po…

Ladies & Gentlemen, this will be epic and nothing else but epic! Jarrad Marshall announced on ORBX forum two hours ago: (see the whole blog here: Introducing TrueEarth US Northern California HD & SD for X-Plane 11 ) Ha, what a coincidence! Barely yesterday I flew over San Francisco in XP11 and was thinking: " Man, this scenery needs a complete overhaul and someone serious who is making the best out of it ". Thank you ORBX; it seems you have heard my thoughts . But of course its not only about San Francisco and its suburbs...... After release there should be two versions available: One HD (212 GB) and one …

Can both exist and be 'seen' by XPlane 11, or will one override the other, in the forest section of things? I'm going to place SFD Global above the Orbx TerraFlora entry, and see what goes. Will the higher one, override the other? That's basically what I am asking. Thanks.

(source: Terra Flora release article on Threshold ) Did someone purchase this product already ? What's about its performance ? Once I had bought it for P3Dv4, and I still remember its inferior performance compared to ORBX's in house tree addon "TreesHD". Cheers, Konrad.

I really laugh when I watch some of these videos, because Austin's enthusiasm and good mood is contagious! It actually activates my interest in that strict brain network still apt to process anything regarding "civil flight simulation", and I not only watch with interest his essays on aerodynamics and porting some new features to XP11 / 12, but it makes me feel how different XP's World really is simply because we have such a core dev behind the project, and that's really when I realize that nothing - not even that hyped FS2020 - can actually pose any threat to X-Plane. Yoke comparison

Noting that the FlyJSim 737 and 727 are two different aircraft and can't be compared like for like on a type basis. Does anyone have any views on the general performance/level of immersion/bugs/reliability of each. I am torn between both and really it will come down to whether one has any significant flaws which will ruin the experience and de-value the cost to purchase. They have both had updates in August this year, has this made any difference? If there is no discernible difference between them, I may lean towards the 727 as I already have Zibo for a 737 option, albeit this is a more modern representation. But having read a couple of reviews on the 727 there …

The 'RW Designs' Otter I have has a really bad pitch oscillation (not pilot induced). None of my other planes do this which rules out the stick, I think. Is there an adjustment area in 'Planemaker' where dampening pitch sensitivity would be possible?

Hi all Currently using the saitek av8r joystick. It’s cheap and cheerful but not great for immersion on the basis its a bit stiff/sticky and has a relatively large dead zone. Ive tweaked response curves in xplane but I can’t help feeling I need to upgrade. I don’t have a huge budget, maybe £70-80 max. Wondered if there were any recommendations, ideally with a throttle. I was looking at the thrustmaster t.16000m but also saw the thrusmaster t.flight. For me smoothness is a big requirement. Any thoughts appreciated thanks Tom

Recently I lost function of my left foot. So using pedals is difficult. Ofcourse I can use the rudder option on my Thrustmaster throttle. But are there better options? Programmable mouses or somthing like that. regards

Hello, Is it possible to use a 2nd joystick in place of a mouse when using mouse view please? If so could this cause the view to always return to the chosen default by self centering? I can see a lot going for this idea but is it feesable? Thanks for any help Phil
