This video is showcasing the beautiful landscape of the free (donationware) X-Plane 10 scenery New Zealand Pro created by me (a few months ago). Its my first experiment with a "larger" video, as I haven't done much (well, nothing) in this area before (especially as I am on Linux ... but I was surprised how polished video tools are nowadays). The scenery can be freely downloaded from my website: http://www.alpilotx....ew-zealand-pro/ Music is by Mike Andrews from http://audiofarm.org/mikeandrews. Titles are: softness strings and guitar

This is a repost from my thread over at Pilot Edge forums: Yes yes.... FSX fanboi here! Now that I got that off my chest. I downloaded and setup the XP10 demo (64 bit) just to try out some night flying (I flew it for about 1 minute total last time I played). Wow. The night lighting with HDR and FXAA is incredible! I've got a few questions about XP in general: 1) If I wanted to buy the paid version where would I get it from? I don't care about global scenery because I only want it for Pilot Edge (socal) and USA flying. 2) In the default C172, my plane is pulling to the left while throttle is idle... almost like it's spinning about the yaw axis. This isn't left…

I am routinely flying the King Air C90 which has been updated and is my favorite XPX aircraft. I have noticed that If I fly a flight with auto pilot and land, everything works fine. If I leave the same airport and fly an approach or do anything else with autopilot, it will not work. It may seem to work, but shortly after engaging, it will turn off (with warnings) and do crazy things. By crazy things I mean that it will not follow the headings or altitude which I have programmed into the system. It is almost as if I have not cleared the previous settings. Maybe I haven't, but I have turned everything in the autopilot system off and back on again. Has anyone…

Hello, I'm currently working on a new project, the goal is to replace my old osm2xp files repository (http://scenery.osm2xp.com/) with a more complex osm library webapp. I'm looking for people to give me feedback , with at least some knowledge of xplane scenery system, osm2xp, and who are confortable with websites / basic computing in general. You can send me a PM if interested. Thanks a lot. Ben

Anyone know when carenados stuff will be updated to 64 bit? I tried the sasl update for the dash 8 in the carenado planes out of desperation and it cleared up the visual issues in 64 bit, but causes xplane to crash after a few mins when using a carenado plane. Rob

This is a product that you guys probably dont know about as its only been supporting race sims. I have just seen that they have a beta update to support fsx and xplane. I have had my eyes on this seat for a while and have been waiting to try it out before I commit to it. http://ultraforcesim.com Instead of moving the seat there are pads that exert pressure on your body instead, they have enough force that they can move you about. I would be really interested to see how they go in flight sims, hopefully I will hear from some users soon

Hi all, I come in search of X-Plane experts! We (Just Flight) are currently in the process of modifying our existing FSX 800XP BizJet (http://www.justflight.com/product/800xp-bizjet) for use in X-Plane 10. As our main expertise lie in the area of Microsoft Flight Simulator, I am looking for some X-Plane addicts to assist us with the testing of the aircraft. As well as spotting any bugs we would be looking for general feedback on any areas that could be improved (within the limiations of X-Plane). Here are a few preview images of the aircraft in X-Plane 10: If you would be interested in helping us, please contact me - martyn[at]justflight.com …

Since the introduction of 64bit (so smooth compare to 32), all my plugins became obsolete. The one I miss the most is xhobbs. I wonder why Laminar Research did not address this missing functionality. It’s just a matter of reading and saving a dataref after all (I’m I wrong?). It would be interesting to have the developer input on this subject. Thanks anyway for making this great simulator. Alan

There have been waves of good news in X-Plane world recently. Most of the aircrafts are already 64bit compatible, other add ons close to it and originally MSFS developers coming on board. Another one just announced: http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/topic/4740-800xp-beta-testers/#entry48983

Hey guys, I was slowly starting to use X-plane 10 more and after only doing GA flights I bought my first airliner for X-plane - the FlyJsim 727, which is a marvellous bird, by the way !!! Allright, after doing some touch and go's starting right from the runway I was about to do my first full flight from gate to gate, and while sitting at the gate and getting ready for departure I was thinking "so, what was that shortkey for pushback again?" ... yeah - shocking, isn't it ? X-Plane does not offer a built in pushback function ... ?!?!? What the ... ?? OK - after calming down again I started to do some research and learned that there are some freeware plugins, which are…

Just noticed that I have no airport lights in either 10.20b7 or 10.10. Graphics driver issue or bug? Currently using a 7970 with the latest drivers. Skickat från min GT-I9300 via Tapatalk 2

First, I just want to acknowledge that the texturing available in 3PD FSX weather addons is in many ways superior to that available in X-Plane 10. I know people will see this thread title and will want to take me to task. Believe me, there's no argument there. However, the way X-Plane 10 renders the clouds it has overcomes something that has bothered me in the FS* series since wispy clouds were first introduced in, I believe FS2002. If you look to the left or right while flying through a cloud layer, FSX (and previous) will layer the clouds on planes as you pass by to provide that parallax effect of clouds close to you whizzing by and those further away going by at a …

Just a quick shot from the hip, a few minutes edit of the "USA_trees_East" textures. I know, the trees don't have leaves in winter. But as said, a few minutes edit... Default texture, good for spring and summer Fall Winter Winter, snow covered

From the original post at x-plane.org: " Realistic Flight Model Originally used in professional simulators Airframe, flight model, speeds, performance and handling as close to realistic as X-Plane permits. Checklist and performance charts included Works with x-plane 9.70 and 10+" http://forums.x-plan...&showfile=18484 One of the pilots I talked to regarding torque-induced roll was a 1900D captain working for a portuguese airline. He was very helpful and provided lot's of interesting information, including the fact that appart from the use of rudder to counter some left yaw when power is applied, there is no need for aileron input regarding an…

Hi everyone. I've been playing around with the 10.20 beta (and now the rc) and have noticed something annoying. I first noticed this when using the ATR-72. Text was disappearing now and then from the fmc (and from pfd now and then). It has a tendency to flicker on and off, hardly ever being clearly legible. Now I have noticed this in the default 747. At first I blamed the video card. However having some time to spare, I installed a second version of XP and just updated it to the latest stable 10.10. The problem then goes away. Am I the only one experiencing this? Edit: aw, seems like HDR was causing it. Maybe a bug report is in order, then..

One of these days I will dedicate to aeromodelism instead of simming to compensate for the less time I now fly for real due to lack of $ime... (FMI restrictions on leisure flight are tough around here....) My DCS World isn't better, in fact it is worst than XP10 in the area of control reversal for negative speeds :-( I am almost sure that on a tailslide it's flight dynamics are wrong! Oh Sh@§!!!!! XP10 (I didn't try this on Aerofly FS) is apparently the only sim now modelling this "feature"... On a tail slide, left aileron gives right roll, forward yoke gives pitch up, left rudder gives right yaw... etc... I'm disappointed :-( Or... after all I love X…
