Today I was once again doing some test runs when I happened to see THREE, yup, THREE police cars running code on the highway! I quickly dropped down to about 500' AGL in my C172 and low and behold, I had to go full throttle in order to keep up with them and I paced them for about 5 miles at 160 MPH! hahahahaah It was awesome! Some people have never seen the police car yet, but I was lucky enough to see three of them. It sure looked like they were in a pursuit, because the were relatively close to one another. If there was a car they were actually chasing, then that would've been icing on the cake.

it's so hard to go back to 32bit after flying in 64bit, it's so smooth and sexy  CRJ-200 The famous CRJ-200 by Javier Rollon. The CRJ-200 is the most popular regional jet in history. I use the Carendo Mooney sim a lot as part of my instrument rating work. My question pertains to the Stec-55 FD. When I'm completing a turn and neutralizing the yoke to proceed on course, the FD always counteracts and rolls the plane 10 degrees in the opposite direction before leveling off. For example, if I'm in a 20 degree turn to the right and stop the turn on a heading of 090 the FD will continue to commence a turn to the left for about 10 degrees before eventually leveling off. Is there a way to turn off this behavior or at least change a setting so that it's a little more subtle?

Hello everyone! I'm new to X-plane and was wondering if anyone knew of a voice over ip (Voice Chat) that is being used to help new x-plane pilots such as my self. I have been in Avsim teamspeak 4 times in several days and there is never anyone there to ask any questions. thanks Mike

I've been silently waiting for for x-plane 64bit to go final for a while. Actually I'm not hoping for some new feature or fix to come along in 10.20 - they've said that feature set was always going to be a tight release... and actually I find that 32bit 10.20 works fine without crashes. The things I'm looking forward to are: - All my addon aircraft to be updated. While they all work 95% OK in 10.20 32bit, I often find my attention drawn towards the 5% - the little things that aren't quite right (a running avionics fan on a dead bus being one particular irritation with some planes). I'm hoping that 10.2x final will lead to a flurry of updates. It sounds like a lo…

I have been a FSX flight simmer for a number of years and have had great pleasure in using it. I recently upgraded to a new high end gamming computer and saw some AMAZING scenery screen shots and video about X-Plane so I decided to switch. After spending a good coin and getting is all setup, I find that the scenery is total crap!!! Airport buildings are missing, total cities are missing! Sooooo.......where do all of these lovely pics and video's come from???? I just don't get it. I have all settings on extreme at all times! Any suggestions?

do you think it will improve the HDR even more?

I haven't it installed right away, but I wonder if some of you could try... I mentioned it on my comment to the 777 rolling backwards video... Does X-plane flight dynamics model account for opposite roll rate with changes in beta (moving your ailerons) at negative G and Alpha (like, for instance, when you're falling on your tail, or landing with strong tail winds and your controls in roll get opposite response...) ?

Hi guys I am building an aircraft in planemaker/blender. Currently I have the flight model coming along nicely except for one particular area. It's a tail dragger and when landing it seems to float forever and lose speed way too slowly. any ideas anyone (apart from killing the engine)

Hello Everyone- I've been tinkering with ATC.dat a bit recently, and finding funny results. It seems the file contains only USA centers with BOS and BDL local frequencies. However, when actually flying in the BDL and BOS area, only Boston Center is a usable ATC frequency. I have a ton of data for USA ATC including individual center sectors dimensions and tracon facilities. I would like to add a bunch of data, but when I test a couple tracons i've added using the ATC.dat code, the system doesn't use the added data just like it doesn't use the default BDL and BOS data. It seems the ATC has some pretty serious problems within itself. I wonder if a bug report …

Someone please tell me there's an alternative way to read back ATC comms, other than having to use the mouse to click in the ATC box. I've found the option to assign a button/key to bring up the ATC box (instead of the return key) but curiously, nothing for the ATC acknowledgements themselves.

Could someone look in their Xplane10/Output/Preferences folder and see if the files are identified as .prf or PICS Rules File. Also, what is the exact name of the Keys file or files. Thanks.

Just to announce that I have finished cataloguing most of the scenery that is available for X-Plane and although there is work still to do on the site, it is worthy of release. Simply click on the link for the map required, and all of the scenery will be displayed. Clicking on a marker will show the link to the scenery. I think I have captured most of the scenery available (over 2500 packages) but inevitably some will remain, so apologies if I have omitted your scenery. But, there are tools on the site to add data to the database. Hope you enjoy the site! Site can be found here.

A thought occured to me last week whilst answering some questions on the X-plane forum here regarding version 10 freeware and paware that it'd be cool to create a regular video review series for freeware & payware releases. There's so much fantastic add-ons being released it's hard to keep track at the best of times so here is my contribution. I also give the download locations for the addons. If you like it subscribe, I plan on doing a regular series of episodes. I hope the mods don't mind me putting this here in the general discussion forum seems it's about an idea rather than just the video. Hope it's useful! Cheers, Steve

Ive converted one of my old FS2004 sceneries to XP10 using FS2XP. It looks fantastic in every way!, but I want to add some objects and static planes. When I open the apt.dat with WED I get an error which says "Unable to read apt.dat files c:\Xplane10 custom Scenery etc.. Error: incorrect runway use rule. (line13). What does this mean and how can I correct it? Thanks for any help/advice, Rob

My CPU! and not so much as the GPU... My new fresh install of XP10, promptly upgraded to the latest beta (which, BTW, made me lose those rw lightsing systems again :-( but I will fill a bug report ASAP!...) was quite a test to my upgraded PC configuration, namely 16GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia Geeforce 650 GTX Ti 1 GB DDR5, and Windows 8 Pro. The installation of my other simulator (DCS World) was flawless, and it even appears to me it got better performance in Win8. I rushed setting the graphic options, trying to maximize it to the tops. I am now on HDR, the fourth AA mode in the options list (don't recall the exact ID), max scenery settings less the cars on roads whic…

Tittle says it all :-) Anyway, from now on I will only buy 64bit-ready airplanes, and install only such planes, which restricts the fleet I have to just a couple of payware aircraft: LES Sundowner (I believe the dc-3 is not yet fully 64-bit compatible?), and the vFlyteAir Sportcruiser. I will not install the Carenado Seneca or Baron58 because they have problems with the 64bit version of XP10. I'm sure the Saab will be a 64 bit add-on :-)
