Sharing images is a form of self expression and creativity that rivals words in our hobby and others. It's with this interest that AVSIM is pleased to announce a new set of image policies which allow for more self expression and creativity! If images are hosted by AVSIM: No more than 10 images per post Image weight and size restrictions remain the same Image will now be allowed to be stored for 120 days, rather than 90 If images are hosted by a another site: Up to 20 images per post Images will be forced to a maximum of 1024 pixels wide when displayed in the forum (or a size smaller as to not exceed the width of the reader's monitor) - clicking on image will disp…

OK, I start a new thread for this because I do not found any useful answer. There is someone that was able to set his MCP II with XP10.20 64 bits ? I tried VRSim and SerialFPS as the old way, and nothing working. Thanks Michel

While we wait for the next update from LR...lol, here is a nice documentary on how British Airways perform maintenance on the 747, kind of long (1 hour) but is well worth it. It's amazing to see how they disassemble these beasts, checked every single component and reassembled it in only 5 weeks. Impressive!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5f5b9Jv3C8 enjoy!!!

So I've been using FSX for many years moving from FS9, but after many addons later I moved to triple screen gaming. Now even though I have tweaked and tweaked my i7 processor is beginning to creak and my display looks like somebodys flicking pages in a book, instead of the nice smooth flight it should be. I am a bit loathed to shell out more money to buy a new machine that will run FSX smooth and be over the top for everything else. Now that there is finally a 64 bit flight sim I am thinking of spending the money it would cost on a new computer on this and addons. My problem is this. After these years of flying in high quality addon aircraft over photo real scenery an…

There have been a lot of good, lively discussions on flight modeling over the last week or so, and I thought it might be a good time to bring up scenery. What I'd like for this thread to be is a sort of repository for good OSM places to fly, particularly those areas that benefit from both OSM and orthophotos that work hand in hand. In another thread, I posted a shot of Peoria, IL with both types of scenery loaded, and that's what inspired this thread. I'm going to pick areas that have good OSM coverage and seek out complimentary orthos and post a couple of shots here so others may be inspired to seek these places out and enhance their own X-Plane world. Little by litt…

GRRRR! Why does it do this? Can't I just load a plane sitting on the ramp. Is there an option for this?

I find myself flying more at night than day time. Reason for that is day time flying in X-Plane to me looks pretty bad. Not sure if its the colors but it just doesn't feel or look right. I prefer FSX for day time flying until X-Plane can start improving in that area. What do you guys think? I've tried numerous addons to try to make day time flying visually joyful but just can't get it to look nice. Not sure exactly what it is. Maybe there's too much green? I don't know, I can't wait for some nice scenery addons to fix this problem. However night time flying is a different story, absolutely beautiful and stunning.

Not going to hijack Efrains post or diminish his enthusiasm, will start my own post. Single house / residential data is not available on the web as far as I know in .shp data (.osm is far too incomplete), we haven't found any yet, certainly not for Canada. Only commercial / industrial and it requires a ton of editing due to it's inaccuracies. That's one of the drawbacks of the current system, many full residential areas are just the "streets" in Xplane, no houses to be seen, or it's far too inaccurate. Efrain is one of the lucky few (with his data source), and I'm not discrediting what can be done, only stating the current fact of the limited data available. It's cer…

What is the best source of payware and/or freeware GA aircraft for X-Plane X (64 bit)? I see that Corenado has some GA stuff, but in some cases there is a disclaimer that the planes are “migrated” from an earlier X-Plan version and do not have full features supported by XPX-64). I think XP really shines for GA flight, especially for learning to fly. I also see a relatively new B777 product too, which I might also olook at getting. Thanks, Bruce

I wanted to start a thread for those of you who own payware scenery packages for FSX such as Flytampa, Aerosoft, etc. Would like to make a thread to discuss conversion settings, issues, etc with other members on here. Which scenery package have you had success with and or minimal trouble converting? I have had minimal issues with converting FlyTampa Dubai, Hong Kong and St. Marteen for use with X-Plane 10. But I had to do a little cleanup afterwards and there are still a few weird issues with multiple runways not lining up properly and such. I almost have a good working FlyTampa Hong Kong conversion except for the runway issue and a few other things not lining up prop…

Hi all, Just new to X-Plane and this forum, so hope I'm posting in the appropriate place here ... The default C172 attitude indicator uses the newer style 'triangle' type display, which is different to the miniature 'wing' type I trained on. Seems it's possible to change these just by swapping over a couple of graphic files, but I don't know where I can download these. Any links to these files (and tips and possible "gotcha" warnings I might need to keep in mind) would be much appreciated

I'd like to create a panel that about fills the whole screen (i.e. with "full size" instruments) - but it doesn't seem like the gauge artwork is high enough resolution.. I'm using a 27" monitor (iMac actually) and am wondering if I'm just missing something easy? thanks, Andrew

Hi guys, i have been reading about this for a while and no one seems to reallyl provide a definite answer... and i cannot seem to get the default x-plane 10 /planemaker exporter to work. i am modelling a new aircraft in Blender that i intend to import into X-plane (which isnt a problem). However, once i have tweeked its basic design in planemaker, i need to be able to export it back into blender to continue 3d modelling of the finer details. The exporter that comes with xplane 10 /planemaker doesn't seem to do anything when i click on the export function! 1. How do you guys who develop aircraft for x-plane 10 do all your 3d modelling? 2. How do i "export" a 3…
