Hey all, I played the demo and decided to buy the game. Just a couple of questions.. Is there anywhere I can buy the game and download online? I have a very fast fibre optic connection and would love to be playing tonight rather than waiting a few days for postage. Looks like this isn't possible though. Secondly, I've only played in the Seattle area. If I buy Global edition, does every city essentially look identical or will there be a few land marks etc. Not too bothered about accurate placement as I tend to fly heavy metal. Finally, the default aircraft had slightly shoddy textures (which I would expect!) - Do the payware addons have much higher def?…

I am an X-Plane 9 owner, but I haven't used it in at least 2 years. While I liked the handling of the planes, I was very frustrated that the scenery in major cities like New York was so lacking by comparison to what was available for Microsoft Flight Simulator. So where are things now with X-Plane 10? If you fly low over Manhattan on approach to KLGA, does the default scenery actually look anything like Manhattan really looks? How about add-on sceneries? Are add-ons available for sceneries that fill the gaps?

Hi, I was deep into XP earlier versions and had spent quite a bit on aircraft, but after being involved with FSX and the quality payware available for FSX, the aircraft developers for XP did not compare at that time. Now that we have devs such as carenado supporting XP, which I do love the models inside and out I have a question. What other aircraft devs can compare to Carenado for GA? Thanks Bob

Hey all, I have given up on FSX quite some time ago due to crashes and generally spending all my time tweaking. I have read a lot and am about to give the demo ago but my question is, will X-Plane 10 do what I want... I'm not an advanced addon user, I just really like to go into a reasonably advanced (I do not need PMDG level though it is nice, but I do like a good amount of complexity), start up the jet, take off, fly and land in nice looking cities. Like many, I am not a big fan of the clouds in X-plane 10 especially at ground level. However, a couple of days ago I had an idea on what could be done to improve the situation. At ground level, could Laminar (or REX etc.) produce photo realistic 2 dimensional clouds like REX do and then when you reach a certain altitude, i.e. before entering the clouds, they change to cloud puff?. Similarly, when you go beyond a certain altitude above the clouds, the clouds below you revert back to 2 dimensions to give a more convincing effect of full cloud coverage to the horizon. Now, I have recently been playing a lot of Train Simulator 2013 instead of flightsims. Nice and comparatively uncomplicated. But in most ways, the gameplay is quite similar. Except that in TS2013 there is gameplay and there is not in X-plane. I think that the thing missing, or at least a very important thing, is scenarios/missions to structure your time spent in the sim. As it is, way too often, I find myself flying around aimlessly, testing new airports, spending more time in the loading screen than in the sim and NOT getting that sense of accomplishment. I think I heard someone had created a mission/scenario thing for X-plane once, but I'm not sure.

Hey all, I have given up on civilian flight simming because I never had much luck with FSX despite having a great system. I am really looking forward to a future with new technology being used to its fullest and addons built for a well supported and modern piece of software. Hello guys! I'm thinking to install XP10 to see how it behave in comparisson with FSX. I never have any XP installed on my PC ever, I don't know the menu and keys but I will find out. My question is, there is something I should know about XP10 tweaking (like FSX) to run smooth, does it run smooth or is a FPS killer like FSX?
