It's been a while since we've heard an update from these guys, but they've recently posted some shots of their upcoming VFR scenery for Helsinki (Which was announced last year), and it looks stunning  . It looks like they're not only just talented at creating airports You can check out the screenshots here http://www.truscenery.com/index.php/component/content/article/9-x-plane-articles/48-helsinki-metropolitan-vfr

All, I'm ready to jump ship from P3D. I'm done with the OOM issues, it just zaps my enthusiasm. I've spent thousands on add-ons, and I'll certainly miss my orbx stuff. Anyway, given that FSX / SE is a dead platform, and P3D can't handle what is thrown at it, is X Plane worth it? I like the fact it is 64 bit for sure, but reading some posts in this forum it seems people are a little upset about lack of support. I do not want to start building up software only to have to drop it like P3D. Apart from the 64 bit thing, is X Plane worth jumping on over P3D. I'm not looking to start a war, just honest opinion. I was ready to jump on X Plane until I started to see fo…

Can someone verify the correct website if I'm wrong maybe? www.rotatesim.com ...Thanks so much in advance. :-) Best, Jeff

SSG has announced that they are developing the CRJ-700. They plan on adding the -900/1000 later. I'm super excited for this! I've been waiting for a -700 ever since I started using X-Plane 5 years ago.

Hello fellow simmers, After yesterday's MS updates for Win 8.1 X-Plane crashes upon start with the following error: upd_socket_read udp_init failed! This is almost certainly because you are already running another copy of X-Plane or EFS-App on the SAME computer... opps! I never had this error before. My network setup is unchanged. Port entries in the preferences file are ok. Logfile shows 0:00:00.000 I/NET: Ethernet 192.168.178.35 - 0:00:00.000 I/NET: Local Area Connection* 11 2001:0:5ef5:79fb:2c0e:3063:af75:a86 - then the above error. No second task of X-Plane is running. Restarting the computer does not help. The firewall e…

First off, if you using W2XP files...you can NOT also have UrbanMaxx textures also in play. I found that UrbanMaxx totally destroys the w2xp format and placement. I removed my UrbanMaxx folder...and took a flight around British Columbia...and my jaw dropped. I am now ONLY going to run with any W2XP_OSM-AG or HD generated scenery (thanks Tony!)...for this is what you get....WOW! I think that I died...and went to Tony Wob 'simHeaven'.... The following shots are near Petawawa, Ontario, Canada....with the new w2xp Canada_osm_ag file driving XPX.35...I don't even recognize the 'old' osm driven…

Ok. I just can't resist any longer. I'm getting the a380 package. I just have a few questions for those of you who already have it. How does it work with cargo and passengers? Is it 777 style where you enter the number of passengers and weight? How about fuel? Does it work in 64 bit? Skickat från min Nexus 4 via Tapatalk 2

Well, I just loaded up a whole pile of European W2XP HD files, loaded up all or the USA and Canada, and then went for a flight. Have the latest WORLD Scenery Models as well..all that is required to run 0.7.2 Well...at Berlin...my system (with no parameter alterations that always gave me 30 plus FPS, with SimHeaven's regular OSM data files...etc) was stuttering and chunking along at 5-7 FPS. So...here's the question...what are others running their XPX.35 setup with....detail levels...etc...to get a frame rate (at least 20) that you can use?!!?? ...and there are no neighborhoods of densely packed houses, like any that I have seen in pictures and videos. This is what…

A new addition to the successful donationware HD Mesh Scenery v3 series has been release. This time, covering the top of the world, the Himalaya "region"! All usual "attributes" of the already existing HD Mesh Scenery v3 apply here too. Special topics to be noted: coverage is 6 "big tiles" (6.3 Gbytes), but not entire 10x10 degree areas. The covered area extends: from 70E to 100E, and 24N to 38N! data used comes from a GLCN project (and this also shows, which area has high res landclass data): http://www.glcn.org/databases/hima_landcover_en.jsp the Himalaya extension is based on latest (end of April 2015) OSM data You can download the files via the map here: http://…

SSG 747-8 Series V1.2 An important change in this version of the SSG 747-8 Series is that now you no longer need to update your navigation data inside the aircraft folder. This data can now be stored in a new X-plane/Custom Data/UFMC folder. To do this, create a new folder called “UFMC” in your X-plane/Custom Data/ folder. Then place all Navigraph or Aerosoft NavDataPro files into this folder. The SSG 747-8 Series FMC now looks first into this folder and then into the aircraft folder and respective aircraft’s plugin folder. Now the FMC will find the default AIRAC 1406 data in the plugin folder. No user changes are required. To update the data, place all your files int…

Something went wrong when I installed 10.35. Most of the default aircraft won't load and I get the error message that there is an "airfoil file" missing. What is the best way to un-install 10.35 and start over? Thank you for your help.

At the moment, X-Plane pilots can't complain. Two new payware airports are available: Austin, Texas: http://store.x-plane.org/KAUS--Austin-TX-International_p_385.html (Airportech, a new developer) Video: Bristol, UK: http://store.x-plane.org/EGGD-Bristol-International-Airport_p_387.html (PilotPlus, who also made Southampton)

Hey - After enjoying the X-plane demo, I bought it and haven't looked back to FSX. X-plane rendering is far superior to FSX, in particular the draw distance. No matter how far I set the LoD_Radius in the FSX config, the terrain in the distance is too blurry. Even with ORBX FTX Global with settings maxed out, the ground textures just don't cut it. P3D too has this problem, being directly descended from FSX. In X-plane, the landscape, bar the autogen, is far more aesthetic than anything FSX/P3D has to offer in my opinion. The distance is rendered beautifully, and the autogen phases out slowly; unlike in FSX where it immediately stops at a certain radius from my plane. Howev…

Hi folks - I've downloaded Aerosoft's Heathrow for X-plane. I installed it in my root X-plane folder. I booted up X-plane the first time and everything was fine - I could see the airport and it looked great. However, I booted up X-plane today (without having done anything to my X-plane directory since then) and all of the airport is missing. There are just runways and taxiways in the default textures. Nothing from the Aerosoft has loaded at all. So, I checked X-plane root directory again, and this is what it looks like: From what I can see, there are three folders related to Heathrow airport, and only one of them is the Aerosoft scenery. What can I do to make the Aerosoft…

After following this great guide regarding AI traffic, I was wondering if there are for example C172s and Piper Arrows available to be added as AI traffic. Don't get me wrong, for my 'big plane' adventures, the initial guide worked wonders and lead to at least some movement in the skies while also saving fps due to the 'real' AI models (e.g. no cockpits, no sounds). But now those 737s and A320s seem to follow me around, so when I start on a grass strip, they do to! :o I've checked the usual download locations but only found jets as AI packs, the smallest being the 737. Are there any good GA traffic packs available for free? Thanks for your help.

Hi to all, I am momentarily very frustrated and need help. I fly in X-plane 10 and use a CH Eclipse Yoke for roll /pitch axis as well as Saitek Rudder Pedals for the yaw axis. The yoke is calibrated via the CH manager software 4.55. Then suddenly while running X-plane the calibration setting for the roll axis is lost. The airplane rolls to the left. This can be verified in the CH manager software calibration settings. Short example: take off in PAJN with normal yoke calibration settings. Autopilot with direction PAKT. Autopilot disconnect and then suddenly the calibration setting for the roll axis is lost and the aircraft banks. This results in calibrating…

I just tried the evaluation copy here: http://www.classicjetsims.com/WorldTraffic/ Overall I'm very impressed by what they've made here. Compared to the AI you get for fsx, there's a lot of extra features. Engine startup and shutdown sounds, and a whole host of AI traffic features (including approach seaparation) make it superior in many ways to the framework offered in fsx. There's some few missing features here and there (including the ability to add daily / weekly itineraries for each aircraft), but overall the framework for creating AI traffic looks pretty robust. So why am I hesitating with buying this? One answer: There's no living, breathing ecosystem to go…
