Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. My Saitek Multi Panel quit on me a few days ago (using it for FSX). With the unit plugged into a USB port, no data was appearing on the front panel. I tried different USB ports without success. I purchased it back in November and had no problems previously, with this device. When I rebooted my computer, with the panel plugged in to the USB port, the front panel lighting would briefly come on, so it seemed that it was getting "juice". But when I would subsequently boot up FSX, no data appeared on the front screen of the panel.I called Saitek and after conducting a few tests while speaking to the service rep, he emailed me docs to ship the unit down to their location…

I have a problem in FSX with CH rudder pedals. I mostly see brakes or differential brakes written in lower left corner without depressing the toebrakes. It can be enough if I only nudge the pedals for toebreak depression to be detected.I tried calibrating in CH control manager and found out that the toebrakes do indeed detect forward press as it should but also that it can react like fully depressed toebrakes by simply nudging the pedal or pressing it slightly backwards. Is this normal? Anyone recognise that? In FS9 I could see in FSUIPCS calibration that the value goes negative if I press the pedal slightly backwards. It seem I can solve the problem in FS9 by calibrating …

Evening guys- I have ripped open my Saitek TPM box that arrived today from Amazon. For starters, wow! Pretty cool and I never thought it would be so different than throwing the throttle with the quadrants - quite different indeed. The only question I have is how to properly calibrate the plungers. The calibrate function in FSX is difficult because it asks you to center / neutralize the control. These plungers don't have a set center point. They are just rollers so trying to find the center is proving difficult. What this is causing is that the RPM never reach full idle speeds nor full RPM speeds. I can tell when I grab the throttle in the VC - I can pull the …

Yoke and throttle units are getting the "USB device not recognized" message. I have the CH pedals and NP with them. Here is what happened to cause this. My old single core box recognized them just fine for years. I built a new dual core box and cloned my entire C drive from the single core box and installed it on the dual core box. I highly recommend this method to any single core users out there. And now I get this message. As I said, the CH pedals work fine, the X45 works fine as well as another couple USB devices that I use for buttons. With respect to drivers, during the installation of the clone back-up, my software loaded the latest MB drivers and after the machine fir…

  8. I would like to install a POV- HAT switch on the top of the right handle of my Elite Yoke. My intent is to be able to control the “POV” Point of View (Look - Left, Right…) outside the aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I have two questions: · Does any company make an "after market" HAT switch that I could install into my yoke, which is made by Elite?· How would I connect it, so it would be recognized by FSX?Thanks to All!

I currently use the Logitech Attack 3 joystick. However, there's a problem with the throttle. It can only be at 2 settings - 0% or 100% - which makes my landings at my Virtual Airliner crappy at best. Does anyone know how I could solve this problem?

I've got a brand new Saitek yoke that I bought. I completed the initial setup months ago when I received it in January, and I played around with it for about an hour, but I decided I didn't want to make the joystick to yoke transition then. I took it out of my closet a week ago, and I plugged it into my PC, and it's not responding. The LCD display isn't turning on and the device isn't showing up in Windows 7. I connected it to my Mac with X-Plane and the same thing happened. I'm thinking of sending the unit back to Saitek. Can anyone help me as to what's wrong? I've installed all the drivers and software for the device, and it still won't work.

  13. Hi Folks,I have "cobbled" a system together to run FSX and I am at the point of wanting to try to synchronize 3 Acer widescreen monitors and possibly add something like TrackIR to the mix. I presently use the 3 monitors to display 3 separate VC views (undocked windows), each oriented differently to display a wide view. I'm sure there is a better way to do this - maybe with TripleHead2go. I am also wondering if TrackIR can be configured to adjust the views in all three monitors simultaneously or if TripleHead2go would take care of that task. I know that my decision to display 3 VC views as undocked windows takes quite a toll on FPS and so I am really very interested in…

  16. I have had my Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals now for about 2 months and I am considering going back to using the stick to steer by because these are either not up to par or could it be my lack of patience? The problem that I can't resolve is the sensivity of ground steering. I you set the sensitivity too low the brakes actually stay on until you increase the sensitivity then they work appropriately. The instructions state if the brake indication in the lower left corner of the screen stays on then go back and uncheck the axis reverse box . That still doesn't change how sensitive these pedals are.Adjusting the deadzone is garbage because it doesn't help either. If anyone…

Hello!I have a Saitek Evo joystick. I have owned it for about a year or so now. I bought it to replace a £10 Microsoft model (mostly for the twist axis for the rudder). The problem I have always had is the general feeling of the stick itself. The centering mechanism seems to create inconsistent resistance to stick movement, even with lubrication, and it drives me insane. I have never been happy using this stick, I actually prefer the much cheaper Microsoft stick and would use it if not for its other problems. I am never able to get close to the smoothness of the Microsoft stick with this one, and after using it for more than about and hour I start to get aching in my arm a…

I was at a Best Buy today and was intrigued by an awesome-looking gaming mouse. The Cyborg R.A.T. looks like it might resolve a small issue - finding a truly portable "joystick" solution with a laptop. Although it may be more of a button-pusher than a true multi-axis controller solution, I thought I'd ask if anyone has tried this with any success as a joystick solution in FSX.

Evening all, i am currently looking for an EFIS module to use with the Level D 767, PMDG 747, and when released the NGX and Level D 757 (all FSX). I have narrowed it down to the GoFlight EFIS module and the OpenCockpits EFIS-737 module. They are both pretty much identical in terms of functionality but what i have been unable to determine, is if the Mode and Range rotarys can be pushed in and used as TFC and CTR buttons on either module. Does anyone know if either module has this function? Could owners of either modules please let me know what they think of their unit. Thanks for your help.

Hi All. I am a recent purchaser of the X52(Not Pro) and am starting to get the hang of setting up with SST Profile editor (For pmdg747x by the way). I have now purchased Fs2crew so have to start all over with a new profile. Has anyone had any experience setting up for Fs2crew as i am still really new to this side of flying. Also does anybody know if you can program the clutch button as a regular button, if so how? I have posted on this subject on other forums (within avsim) but havn't had much response and Saitek support is non existant with no access to registration on their forum. Any help/tips would be welcome.T.A.L.

I have a TM F22, F16 TQS, and RCS set up . After a long layoff I have got back into flying sims. Everything has gone well with connecting the stick and throttle to a Pentium D - 3.4 GHz, Windows XP system. It was difficult to to find the TM F22 command center but I was finally able to find two version - 1.09 and 1.63. Also my PC did not have a PS2 connection so I used a PS2 to USB adapter.I am able to use Windows XP's game controller utility to configure the stick and throttle, but when I try to either clear the memory or download a new template to the stick the command center crashes. It also crashes when I try to calibrate the stick in the command center.Otherwise the …
