Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etc

This is a forum to discuss issues with Joysticks, pedals, yokes, other interface hardware like panels, etc.

  1. Started by Ben Cap,

Hi, I have been using the Saitek Yoke, Pedals, and Throttle Quads.(2).Honestly, I am not at all impressed with the built quality nor am I impressed with the way they perform in FSX.My throttles spike like crazy, my yoke is malfunctioning and my pedals are not very smooth. Is there any other products out there that are good "bang for buck" and have good build quality and good functionality? I do not want to have to buy a new yoke every 2-3 years...... NOTE: I am not willing to pay 1500 bucks on a yoke LOL Even though I didn't like my Saitek yoke I am willing to give there new Saitek Cessna Yoke…

  2. I've had the Saitek yoke, extra throttle quadrant, and rudder pedals for some time now. They have worked well, but I am continued to be bothered by two issues and was hoping I could get some help with them.1. The throttle quadrant that came with the yoke (PS2 connector instead of USB) has a horrible amount of signal noise. I can open the game controllers menu in windows and just watch all three throttle axes bounce over 20-30% of their range several times a second (at their worst) when I'm not touching the levers at all. I do not have this issue with the USB connected additional quadrant or with the axes on the yoke or rudder pedals.Anyone find ways to reduce or solve thi…

Is there a fully functional Xponder panel in the market ???? I, mean, a designated one, with all the buttons (ON/OFF,VFR, STB,Indent, Alt,) Cheers Yair

  5. Started by Avi8tor1,

I recently purchased the Pro Flight Yoke system and throttles and have to say, a major step up from the old school X45 (yes they made those at one point) joystick. However, with how my desk is set up I can't use the clamp to secure the yoke as almost everyone else does. Right now I have just the top portion double-sided-taped to my desk however this is very temporary, as it usually comes off after landing :( Does anyone have any suggestion how I can secure this to my desk, without ruining my desk? (No gluing and preferably no screws involved.) Thanks for anyones input!

Yestrday I cleaned my computer since my fans where going bazurk; i only dared to vacuum it outside and cleaned the grills thouroghly...So far it has helped and the fans haven't cut in at full speed! And for ever. While plugging everything back and restarting computer, I plugged in my stick FF2 into a USB and it told me it was installing software while making the connection. I run win7 and have read many posts that win7 doesn't support the stick? And MS isn't willing to make an update for it!? Any way I let it installed till the end; Then I started FSX Accel. but the stick is the same no forces!? But while in windows before the sim loads the stick has forces. I have also t…

  7. Started by JMEppright,

I've had the CH Eclipse Yoke and Pro Pedals for a few months now and like much about both but still having ultimate config problems. If I completely eliminate CH Control Manager, I can use both but with generic assignments which aren't the best, especially for real world pilots. I've tried many times to set up Control Manager to optimize the yoke and pedals. At the moment, the yoke is where I want it but the pedals don't seem to be recognized. I've tried different combinations without success. I uninstalled the CM and pedals work fine so hardwear is OK. I've tried installing CM on multiple occassions using the "CH Control Manager for Dummies" guidance without success…

  8. Running FSX Gold deluxe @ acceleration on Windows 7. I have a Saitek pro flight yoke, rudder and throttle quad. Has been working fairly well until I started having problems with the rudder over reacting causing flight between stalls and dives. Saitek tried setting the controls but hasn't solved the problem. They suggest I reinstall FSX, which is a pain and I'll lose all my logbook, flight records etc. Before I do this does anyone have another option? I've tried flying the Cessna 172 and the Mooney with same results. If I do have to reinstall FSX should it go into it's own folder as some have suggested or let it install in default?

  10. HiI still use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick :-) and now after moving to a new computer ,when i press and hold the joystick buttons next to the POV hat , i dont get a continuous movement.I use this buttons to get upwards and downwards ,forward and backwards movement of the eye . So i have to press them again and again to get the movement i want even if in the controls assigment they are set to be in highest repetitive mode. Is it something with the computer ,the joystick or the OS win7 64. By the way it happens both in fs9 and fsx.

  11. As the title suggests. Just want opinions on what to get for xmas. The logitech obviously comes with rudder pedals...not a necessity but obviously nice and handy. What do you guys recommend?

  12. Started by Damien,

I have suddenly started having problems with my Saitek x65F and the dodosim 206. When I advance my throttles, the collective will not move and though the torque gauge goes up, it suddenly drops back down to idle as soon as I stop moving the throttles. I've uninstalled and re-installed the 206, reset and rebuilt fsuipc.ini, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the Saitek and even as an experiment plugged in another joystick. Plugging in another joystick worked so I'm assuming that there is an assignment conflict somewhere. Is there somewhere that mentions joysticks that I can have rebuilt? -Damien

  13. Hello, I am using a saitek proflight yoke + extra quadran + rudder pedals. Despite following the saitek tutorial on how to assign default SST profiles , I can't get the computer to remember the profile once restarted! The profile window (bottom left, next to the clock) would only appear the first time I load the profile (i.e. following the steps from saitek when first plugging in my controllers). Everything would work until I restart windows 7 Thanks in advance for your help Best Karim PS: I wont to avoid using FSUIPC for calibration as PMDG does't recommand it on the B737 NGX

Hello, i have the saitek pro flight yoke and am quite unhappy with it at the moment. I have seen a mod that goes around about replacing those annoying self centering springs with rubber bands. I opened it up last night and took out one spring and found it better but put it back because I don't want to void the warranty cos I need that to fix another problem with the Z-Axis. So I was just wondering if anyone knew of somewhere that could tell or show me how to do this after I get the other thing fixed. Thanks in advanced,

  16. I've been thinking about replacing my almost-jammed saitek yoke with a thrustmaster hotas warthog. Now, before i decide, i'd like to hear your opinions on it. Is it really as good as people say it is? Does the quality of components outweigh the price?

  17. I've recently added the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke system & Rubber Pedals but have one problem with them. I'm pretty sure I've got them set up in FSX & FS9 properly but I can't turn the brakes off. The differential brakes and rudder work in both programs but this problem affects all aircraft. I deleted all the button/keys settings for the pedals and reassigned them to the yoke. nb I'm not using SST or FSUIPC., perhaps this is my problem? I've taken screenshots of my settings, admittedly I did get my settings by watching examples on YouTube. If Saitek were to actually let new members into their forum I would look for the answer there, but as they wont, **** them.…

OK fellas, I need some really helpful advice here. I've been umming and arring for about a month now, I just cannot make a decision. I currently fly with a Saitek x52Pro and have never been that impressed with it. It always feels like a wet fish, with the controller wobbling around in my hand! It has given me a lot of grief and I can no longer save profiles or anything it's supposed to do. So, after much reading and having chats around here I decided to go for the Warthog. However, as I find myself flying more and more with the PMDG I am now considering the CH yoke. But, here's my dilemma. I have just got hold of Ezdok and TrackIR5. I feel to use this kit and get any real…

I am wanting to invest in a TrackIR and I have a couple questions. - Is there really a significant difference between the TrackIR 4 and the trackIR 5? - Is it totaly necessary to use the hat clip thing? I have heard that some kind of reflective device would work also.

What is the difference between the Saitek ProFlight Yoke System PC and the Saitek ProFlight Yoke (Wheel/Throttle) PZ 44? The first one retails via Amazon.co.uk for £10 dearer than the PZ44 version so I assume there is some difference. I have just today placed an order (not via Amazon) for the PZ44 version and am wondering if I have made a mistake.Any help is much appreciated.Bill

Hi I have a Saitek X52 and would like to use the slider to control the brakes. Unfortunately there is not a 'single' brake option in the Axis Control menu of FSX. Is there anyway around this problem as I would like to have variable brakes instead of full on or off. I don't have any room under my computer desk to use pedals, so the X52 is my only option. Thanks Glen

Has anyone used the Saitek X52 joystick and throttle, Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals, and the Belkin N52TE (or its successor the Razer Nostromo) gaming keypad simultaneously with FSX? If so, did they all work together smoothly or did they interfere with each other? I have the Saitek X52 and the rudder pedals and I am thinking of buying the Razer Nostromo gaming keypad to use it to open various 2-D pop up panels and program some of the keys to use for ATC responses and a few other functions so I wont be stretching my fingers all over the keyboard while trying to fly.
