Hello,I recently got a MS Sidewinder Precision 2. It works well and it seems to be precise :-) The only problem that I have is the dead zone. It's much too huge. Especially bad for helo flying :-(I set the dead zone to the smallest in the software of course, but a certain dead zone still remains.Is there a way to fix this? Maybe there's a possibility to "hack" the profile file to get rid of the dead zone? Or is it an hardware limitation?Thank you very much in advance for any help!Regards,Robert:-rotorEDCJ

Hi all, I'm running a Voodoo5 5500 64 meg AGP card it has been doing a good job but I can't get any of the new reflective skins to show up in the sim. Checked all my setting and everything looks right but instead of a nice shiney paint scheme I get a n ugly flat grey(example is Garry Smiths new paints for the Grumman Goose) Is this because the card doesn't support them or what. I really like the card because it supports Glide which I use to fly RedBaron3D. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I'm looking for a tutorial on how to make basic game controllers like throttle and small things like that...to hopefully build a cheap home cockpit. I just started flight lessons today and I'd like to make things a bit more realistic in the ways the controls are concerned. I have a Yoke, and I like it, but of course its not good enough is it :( Anyway if anyone can point me to a small tutorial on how to make a 1-2 axis joystick I'll be very happy ;)ThanksKyle

Reviews are out and it soundly beats GF 4600 (especially in high res 4xAA). One review benchmarked IL-2 and FPS were upto 50% in excess of those of 4600.Is the Ati tweakable in terms of mip mapping, ansio etc. as with Nvidia. Can we get as sharp an image using tweakers such as Geforce or Riva?Thanks

Im about to upgrade to a new graphics card. Im giving the card I have, a Geforce 3 to a friend of mine and for the last few years apart from when i had a Voodoo 3 card Ive always gone for Nvidia as the cards were the fastest etc. Now Im just about to buy one for my PC and I see that ATI is releasing a new card next week and I will be able to get hold of one in say 2 weeks time. Its a ATI 9700 pro (R300) which according to some benchmarks Ive seen is 40-50 percent quicker than a Geforce 4 4600 at high res and with anti aliasing which is how I like to play FS2002 etc. Now the NV30 isnt due out for another few months yet and Im seriously thinking about getting this ATI card.…

I must buy GOFLIGHT Gf-45 to use it with SQUAWKBOX. to change frequency in SB one must click on "ATC DIRETORY and make his choice. By changing the frequency with the "com1" of FS one cannot obtain the ATIS. Put the frequency directly on Gf-45 will not launch the new ATIS in SB. Is it possible to regulat this problem? F-AT27

Greetings,I recently wiped my drive and reinstalled XP, added all the necessary MOBO drivers etc. I installed FS2002 with only approved 2002 addons.While flying the PIC/PICPOSKY (which I love!) I get the Blue Screen of Death at random times and have to do a cold boot. Sometimes at the beginning of a flight and sometimes near the end. It also freezes with a repititous sound (using other AC in the sim and I have to do a cold boot. I recently put in a 400 WATT power supply (recommended for this system). I have just uploaded the latest Win XP Geforce Drivers 30.82, and unfortunately at 1200 x 1600 even in 16 Bit the panel goes funny, it looks like you can see a lego board through the panel.Any idea's?The same happened on the 29.42 drivers but only after 1 Hour of flying.I have a Geforce4 Ti 4600, WinXP, AMD 2100 XP, latest drivers. I think my FLCS/TQS finally died on me. Cant dowload anymore and generates wierd and constantly changing characters.My question: what do you gutys recommend as a replacement. I'm hesitant about the Cougar due to the large dead space issue as I use my controllers for a lot of FS2002 helicopter flying (which requires minute and constant inputs).I'm leaning towards CH USB set-up, but am worried about to much throw and the "light" feel.In addidtion to FS 2002, I want to be well positionbed for LOMAC.Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hi there,I recently got a new system and winxp home. As I am still kinda new to XP I was wondering if the shared irq's are something I should fix?I don't have big problems with the exception of crackling sound every now and then and a USB port that falls asleep on me occationally. I was wondering if the shared irq's cause these isssues?Can anyone help/recommend me changing those irq's in the bios? This is a little off-topic, sorry.My old gaming computer that I've now re-formatted and loaded Win98SE onto for other uses: After loading Norton Internet Security 2002, now I get a Windows pop-up "Your system is low on memory, please quit another application..." when attempting to load other software, or even attempting to to install NAV Live Update files. This always appears to be at the point in an install where the progress bar indicates the actual install taking place. I've never seen it before I installed NAV today- I've currently got that disabled but it still occurs. Put together a system over the last week using a Antec Plus case--330 Watt PS, ASUS A7V266-E mobo,AMD XP 2100,Corsair memory(512mb)Gainward Ge3,CD ROM,Burner,WD 40 gig HD,Digital DOC that has temp probes and monitors fans. I used Artic Silver thermal grease and a Cooler Master HS and fan with the heat pipes.I'm running 3 additional case fans. Idle temp is around 46-47C and 51-53C with FS02 running--the OS is Win XP. The case fans are pretty quite. The Cooler Master HSF is loud--runs at about 6800 rpm but it does the job.The assembly went smooth and everything works great except for a floppy that died after about 4 hours and very little use. Hi guys!I really hope someone can help me with this really confusing problemI recently got my old 386 reenabled by installing and running a Linux Coyote router/firewall, thus freeing up some resources on my main/FS computer that also acted as Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Server. I am considering upgrading to Athlon XP2100 from T-bird 1.4. My current setup is Abit KG7 (no raid)512 MB PC2100GeForce 4 Ti4400I am interested in frame rates for FS2K2. Currently getting low rates in busy airports 6-13 FPS(like most people, for instance simflyers LAX with very dense or dense details turned on, I use PAI planes for AI traffic). I'm thinking about trading in my GForce2 MX for a new GF4. My GF2 has dual outputs to connect two VGA monitors and also a 3rd output for a TV. All the GF4's I saw at Fry's had dual outputs, but one was a VGA output and the other was a DVI output, which has a different kind of plug so I assume won't work with a VGA monitor. Is there an adapter or something I can use to connect a standard monitor to the DVI output of the video card? I also need it to have an output to connect to a TV.Also, is there anyway to use two AGP cards?? Do the make a motherboard with 2 AGP slots?? Would be nice to be able to keep using the old GF2.Matt

I'm re-formatting an older computer for my wife, installing Win98SE. I've run this before with this OS, and the current hardware config: GeForce 2, SBLive 5.1 and an NIC. I've installed the video card and the NIC OK, and installed DX 81B for 98.The install routine calls for the physical card install, then cancel out of the new hardware wizard and run the driver install from the CD. The card is never detected by the wizard, although the driver install later appears to find it OK. However, when I get the computer re-booted, I don't hear sound, and the sound card is disabled in DM (disabled by another Windows driver, and can't be re-enabled). I also see no interrupt info…

It is time to upgrade my current video card (ATI Rage Fury 32MB AGP) to something a little or a lot more high tech that is very compatible with FS2002. Anyone have any suggestions???
