Hello all,I am brand new to non-military flight simming, having just purchased FS 2002 Standard this past week. The joystick I'm using is the greatest and I've considered getting a yoke and rudder pedals. The ones I've found are the CH Products 19 function Flight Sim Yoke and Pro Rudder Pedals. I definitely want USB connectors, which these have. Are these a good choice for the price? I can't spend a fortune and I think I've found a pretty decent price on them. Are they fairly sturdy and dependable? Thanks for any advice.KP

I downloaded this (it only appears to be a beta version available) from http://www.cloudmark.com/It works fine, adding some additional buttons to the tool bar and diverting spam e-mail to a folder. However, after 5-6 hours, and various successful spam intercepts, it disappears from the toolbar and appears not to work. Re-running the installer identifies it to be still installed (offers the "uninstall" option). If I uninstall it, I can then re-install it, and it works OK for the next 5-6 hours then it's gone again. However, if I re-boot, I can restore the add-in (without re-installing), but once again it only appears to last the limited time. The service is advertised as…

Greetings Everyone...I'm going video card shopping pretty soon, and I was just wondering how much of an improvement 128Megs DDR RAM gives over a 64Meg card. I heard there's more room to handle textures on the 128. Thanks!Regards,Phil Geddes

When I was at the Oshkosh airshow this past summer MS had a booth displaying a system with FS2002 running on 3 LCD monitors. The setup was with a front view and left and right views. It looked great and seemed to be running very well.I'd really like to do this but using CRT's instead of LCD's.Everything I have read here so far says this can't be so.Any ideas on which video card(s)to use? Or is this still premature? Thanks, Chrissi

Somewhere, I saw plans for making rudder/brake pedals for flight sims, but I don't remember where. Maybe one of you could refresh my memory.I am considering using the joystick port for the pedals and a USB port for my existing Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick. Is there any disadvantage to using USB instead of joystick port for the joystick? Hauptmann

The few monitors I have had, new and old...once you position your screen and resize for a different resolution as needed, it would "remember" the settings. I got a good deal on a used Dell D1626HT 21 inch trinitron today at a show...beautiful rendering of all things. The picture and game rendering is just beautiful. One anoying problem, I run at 1000x700 on the desk top, and have to reset with the monitor keys to get it all back to full screen after exiting. Also, when entering a sim, I have to reset it also to full screen through the monitor keys. I can hear it clicking when screen is changing back to desk top, or vice versa. I just installed service pack 3 for windows 2000 and want to give you guys a heads up about it. If you're wondering why you can't find it on the microsoft website it's because they have added it to be downloaded, but they won't announce it until Thursday, supposedly. This being the case, there shouldn't be any changes to it unless, of course, there are bugs. So yes, as far as I can tell I have installed a legitiment, complete version. For me, it appears that there is about a 10% performance gain, but that may not apply to everyone. So far I have noticed a couple bugs with FS2002:1. When in full screen mode, pressing the "alt" key will pause the simulator but the pull…

Guys I'm stuck...I got a new PC and plugged my MS SideWinder FF Pro into it. Added the joystick using stock "MS SideWinder (auto detect)" drivers. Joystick added AOK, the Control Panel sees it, it calibrates and tests just fine, everything works. BUT Flightsim cannot see it! The "Enable joystick" is grayed out in Controls menu. In the "settings" page accessed from the opening screen, there IS a tick mark and the Joystick checkbox, but Forces button are inactive, and Sensitivities page has no controls for a joystick.I checked if other games can see the joystick. Flanker 2.5 sees it, Rally Trophy sees it, but Commanche vs Hokum doesn't.If I plug in a simple basic Logitech j…

***Cross-posted in "Hanger Chat" Thanks everyone. See ya around. You can still ask me questions.***Received an email from Scott Brazell this morning. Without posting the text he had two concerns. I would like to respond, and then offer my resignation in public, which I have already tendered in private.1. He expressed concern about my handling of the comments in "Hanger Chat", a forum that I do not moderate. Scott

Hi all,My birthday today, so I installed the upgrade my beautiful girlfriend Sarah bought for me! I've got a an Athlon 1.4Ghz, and am able to moonitor CPU temp with EasyTune supplied with the motherboard. I have a fan and heatsink approved to Athlon 1900 I think. The system is stable, but seems to be running hot. I get 63C at the desktop, rising to 64 occasionally 65 for an instant running FS2002.Is the system running too hot? Does anyone have a similar system to compare temps with? If it is too hot, what are my options? Thanks for any help.Gareth Evans

Greetings,I just recently added a GF4 Ti4400 to my system and am overall very impressed with the result. However, I have recently noticed a problem in FS2002. I seems to occur when returning to FS after a task switch. The problem is that all the clouds lose their shape and become boxes (even worse than in the 5.1 days :(), and all the lights on the aircraft and on the runway are surrounded by black boxes. See screen shots below.Any advice on how to fix this problem and/or what causes it would be greatly appreciated.Regards :-wave,Chris BrunnerCYVRAMD TB 1.33 GHzGF4 Ti4400256MB DDR RAM

Hello to all. Recently went about the task of upgrading my 500 Mhz Celeron to an AMD XP1800+, MSI KT3 Ultra Mobo and 512 MB of Crucial DDR. After installing all the componets into my case, I went to power on the system and nothing happened. Fans didn't start up, processor didn't start, hard drive didn't boot. It didn't even turn on. At first I thought, oh well I must have reversed the power switch lead, so I reversed it, and it still didn't start. So then I noticed one side of my mobo was a little too close to the edge of my case, so I readjusted the motherboard standoffs so everything was further away from the mobo plate and tried again. Still nothing. I'm beginn…

Hi everyone,I've just stepped up from Win98 to Win2000 (I usually prefer to stay one generation behind on my OS) and am struggling to remedy a couple of issues that have sprung up around my sound card and controller.First, here's my (slightly outdated!) setup:Win2000 sp2srp1DirectX 8.1FS2002 v8.00AMD Athlon 600458 Mb RAMAsus Geforce256 (driver: 16/7/2002)Creative Soundblaster Live!
