Hi,Before I ask anything, I know you'll want to know my specs...so here goes:P4 1300256MB PC800 RDRAMGeForce 3 64MBSB Live! PlatinumXP Pro (SP1)Office XP Small BusinessI never used to have ANY kind of performance issue with FS2K2 at all. I typically run PSS aircraft with the UK2000 scenery. Framerates were always lower when using these aircraft and sceneries for obvious reasons, but never unacceptably low. Just recently things seem to be getting worse however. Frequently when I close FS2K2, I've got a yellow exclamation mark on my taskbar telling me I have low system resources. My framerates are getting worse, to the point of unplayable and my hard drive is always working…

Hi There,I have been looking for a while to buy some GoFlight products. There are some shops in my country, but they are a bit more expensive than the internetshops who sell the GoFlight products.Does any of you have experience with buying GoFlight products via the Internet and shipping them to Europe (esp. the Netherlands)? I know Luchtvaart Hobbyshop as some other shops listed at GoFlight sell them as well. For their (higher) price they also offer a very good service and guarantee, but then again, shipping and customs are not too expensive anymore. Same situation is for Aeorosoft products.I would like to hear your advise! Thanks in advance!Regards, Ferry

Hi Folks,My computer is a Dell P3 1 gig (512 sdram) using a GForce 2 440mx.I'd want to upgrade the video card as I like to fly FS2002. Currently my computer does fairly well with most display sliders maxed. But, I'd like to have more graphics power when I'm flying in highly intensive areas and would like to lessen the problem with the dreaded "blurries".My computer's power supply is rated for only 200 watts but Dell has said I could install a Gforce 4 Ti4200.But, I've read various posts on the forums which said that a P3 1 gig computer would not have enough power to take advantage of the GForce 4 Ti4200's capabilities. The posters suggest that a GForce 3 Ti(200 or 500) …

I'm about to undertake a slow (financailly constrained!) upgrade to my current system which uses a Voodoo5 AGP card in an old MSI6119 (bx chipset based..I think) motherboard. My first thought is to get a new video card and the PNY Verto TI4200 cards are being sold locally for less than

Hi Trip (and others),I'm posting a question for a good friend of mine who frequents this forum but can't access it from work.He has a new computer- Athlon 1.3G ThunderBird, Win 98, 512M RAM, and a GeForce 4 MX-440 64M / DDR. He had older drivers installed for the video card- maybe dated at 04/01- that are a part of the initial build by a local computer firm about a month ago.Because of the CSF3 issues and some of the recommended enhancements, he's asked me about which driver he should upgrade to. I'm not sure of the answer, as far as the MX version of the card is concerned. Can anyone please advise here as to the recommended driver version (and maybe corresponding Dire…

Since I installed new GeForce drivers for my G3 Ti card (for which I first disabled the old drivers and device in DM, and also removed registry settings for nVidia), I've noticed an occasional issue with sound. I'll occasionally launch FS, and there's no enginr sound, although I have been able to hear the flaps sound. Wierd. Any ideas? Thanks.Windows XPSound chip is imbedded onto an ABit BD-7II. 512M of PC-2100, P4 1.8 Northwood.I've had no trouble since making this computer (myself, 6 months ago), until now. Bruce.

Just got an old PCI card, Stealth II 220 from a friend of mine. Tried to install it to win XP Pro and it sure didn't like it. Couldn't find a driver yet to install it. Anyone got any ideas? or any drivers that'll work with XP? When I installed the drivers (win98!) it said they wouldn't work with XP.Lobaeux

I'm thinking of backing up my C: drive onto a second HD in my PC, using Drive Image. Will I create a second bootable (primary) partition when doing that, and how will the computer handle that situation on re-boot?Thanks,Bruce.

Hello flight sim companions, after having built a new Pentium IV computer myself (it's not for the first time that I built a computer...but the first computer with WinXP) I'm encountering a strange sound problem:Alas the rest of the system performs exceptionally well my sound in games is somewhat messed up, I receive a constant stuttering and crackling which increases when I use any kind of input device (e.g. mouse, keyboard or joystick). In MSFS the throttle slider of my MS FFB2 causes the worst problems, but changing the power settings by keyboard or mouse is still awful. The phenomenon also occurs in other games as Train Simulator, Rally Championship 2000 or Operation …

I KNEW that the clamping system on the CH yoke was trouble. Tonight when I clamped it onto the desk, the screws stripped... yep, thats right... the right screw will not clamp at all because the threads are stripped to the point where its not gripping. Ive hot alot of trouble with it lately when trying to clamp it because sometimes the threads get so out of place that it takes a wrench just to get it to move... and no im not clamping it super tight... just normal usage. I've had it for less than a year and... darn! Also, my right brake on my CH pedals isnt functioning... I really shouldve sent in those warranty things when I first got these things because now I cant get th…

I have a 19" Sony Trinitron located about 2.5 feet from a Samsung monitior. If I turn the TV on while the monitor is running, I get a "degaussing" effect whereby the monitor image shakes for an instant. Does having the tv in such location hurt my monitor? Any shielding material available (moving the tv is not an option--I use it to display some panels). Thanks

Figured out what was wrong with my reinstall of XP, ala' "Help me please, Please help me!"http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/service411.htmRacking my brain, after two complete re-installs of XP, I thought..."what's different now". Then it came to me. As part of my old setup, I had spent quite a bit of time, experimenting, disabling various services. I had forgotten completely about it. Now, I have revisited that effort, and the payback is tremendous. I bet I've got at least half if not more of my services disabled. BTW, disabling them as opposed to putting them in "Manual" helps with determining what services you turned off. Most bank for the buck...Indexing service. P…

I just built a system using mostly parts laying around the house, but I suspect that performance might not be optimal with this combination of hardware. The one real concern is the RAM. The motherboard (ECS K7S5A) supports regular PC133 SDRAM as well as DDR memory, and to get this thing running I used a 512 MB ECC PC133 that I had sitting around. I'd like to know if DDR SDRAM will really make a noticable difference in performance, and if so, what I can expect in real-world performance such as framerates in FS2002, as opposed to just benchmarks and other theoritical measurements. :-bla Thank you!ECS K7S5AAthlon XP 1600+512MB ECC PC133Radeon 8500 64 MBIBM 18.2 GB 10K RP…

Within the next 3 to 5 months I'm going to be upgrading my home PC. I've been researching the possiblity of building my own, and it looks like that is the way that I'm going to go. The reason that I'm looking at building is that I'm tired of the "proprietary parts" found in my Compaq, and in most other high volume resellers. I realise that it will cost me as much or slightly more to build my own system, but the open upgrade construction will be what I'm shooting for.I'm looking to build the system just under the latest and fastest technology. The latest and greatest isn't my goal, but just under the cutting edge which usually allows for the most reasonable costs. The t…

Greetings,I have been experiencing a problem with my GF4 Ti4400 and FS2002. Whenever I return to FS after a task switch, many effects such as clouds, nav light glow effect, and selected ground-based scenery appear inside black boxes. Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful in uploading a screen shot of the problem.I have posted this problem in this forum before, but unfortunately no one was able to solve my problem. I post it once again in hopes that since that time someone may have learned how to cure this problem.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Regards :-wave,Chris BrunnerCYVRSYSTEM------CPU/ AMD Athlon 1.33 MHzMB/ ECS K7S5AVIDEO/ MSI GF4 Ti4400 40.72 DriversRAM…
