System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc

Following a PSU failure I replaced the PSU but also took the opportunity to delid my 7700K. The PSU replacement is fine, but on applying power the PC appears ok apart from the fact there is no video signal getting to the monitor. The TV sees its connected but theres nothing there. The mobo (asus maximus) shows error code 00 (unused) so I assume theres no prob there. The GPU fans spin so I assume thats ok. Any ideas what may cause my lack of video output, other than the possibility that the PSU failing has compromised the mobo or other component? Cheers K

Just wondered if enabling hyperthreading is worth doing in either p3d or xplane. With all the added heat and stress to the cpu does it give me anything extra.

I've been reading about Prime95, and the length of time it's recommended to run this. Some mixed responses, though overall it seems people like to run it for 24 hours. I was just wondering what the opinions here are regarding this? So far I've run it for about an hour after each change in the BIOS. Should I do an additional, longer test, to make sure? Any help is appreciated!

In 2013, I had a computer built for the purpose of simming with FSX. I have an I7-3770K CPU @ 3.5GHz, 16GB RAM AND NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680. I like my FSX as real as possible so I added numerous add-ons ( ORBX, airports, cities etc), so many that my computer doesn’t cut it anymore. I started to have problems when I installed the PMDG 747 v3. I cannot fly it over some intense sceneries such as New York or Miami cities, not even Toronto airport scenery from Fly Tampa. Hi-currently with P3Dv4.1 in Windows 7. I'm using an analog headset with the motherboard's Realtek sound output for all P3D sounds, and a buttkicker with OPUS's program for it going through a separate SoundBlaster card. I also use the default ATC with EditVoicepak. I recently got for free a used 5.1 surround receiver/amp, 4 speakers and a subwoofer. Does anyone know how I could end up with a sound system like this: 1. All aircraft sounds through the receiver and speakers in 5.1 surround except for ATC , 2. ATC only coming through the headset. Hi Guy's Been searching and can't find any thing that comes up, hope for some insight. i'm have a problem with cpu turbo i7 6700 Lenovo Y700-34ish stock features bar a ssd 500 gb, GTX 1060, whilst in flight FSX:SE stock config except affinity mask 84, regardless of where I am, my cpu in task manger shows only the base figure of the cpu in my case 3.4ghz and never shows or goes over that, come out of FSX:SE window and back to any other window in my case desktop and i see my turbo function kick in and it jumps 3.7 - 3.9ghz. It would appear that i'm not using the full potential in flight from the cpu is there something i'm missing, a setting i'm missing any suggestion…

Hi folks, 2 weeks ago I broken my mobo, an Asrock extreme pro4, I took an Gigabyte Aorus ultra gaming to replace the old one but to be honest, since I took this one, my cpu is hotter and in general I have worse performances in X plane 11, so I want to change for a better one what can you advice me? Hi Everyone Just recently in the last few weeks I have lost sounds: No seatbelt sound in Carenado Caravan; no start up sound in Active Sky, no thunder; no TAWS sound in GTN750; no seat belt sound in Phenom 300. I do have aircraft sounds like engines, etc; I have ATC sound in the headset. I am stumped. Can anyone suggest a setting change or something? Not sure this is the proper forum either?

Hey all, Yes I'm back with another question! Possibly the last one before I finally have all the components for my new rig. This question pertains to the configuration of SSD storage for my rig. So far I'm set on buying at least one 860 Evo M.2-2280, because of it's blazing fast speeds as well as an okay pricetag. I think I have pretty much settled on the 500GB model. I was thinking to use this as my main drive for Windows and perhaps some games. However, I'd like to run Prepar3D of a separate drive. Tearing my hair out.....my Asus Z97-A motherboard died suddenly 3 weeks ago.....very strange., After replacing it, my Corsair 850W power supply died....it was only 3 years old. I replaced it with a brand new Corsair RM850I the very next day. Then i noticed that my system has a noticeable noise when under load....ie if I start X-Plane, P3D or DCS, there is a metallic constant squeak, which only starts under load, and stops when I stop the programs and go back to desktop. I thought my GTX970 was failing so I replaced it......and the noise is STILL there....so the culprit is definitely the Corsair Power Supply. Has anybody had this before? Should I look at replacin…

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my pc, I have one 256gb SSD(windows on it) and one 2 TB HDD. My P3dv4.2 is on the HDD so I want him to load faster and I'm considering buying a 500gb SSD OR Intel optane 32gb with my current 2 tb HHD. I don't know which option is the best if someone can give any advice on this it will be appreciated. I know that I won't get any better fps but it will load faster and this what I'm looking for.
