I've decided that I shouldn't put it off any longer!FS9 is running ok but my last defrag was....ermmm...last year!!Trouble is it takes so long to do. I believe that regular defragmentation makes the process a lot quicker. In the meantime, are there any programs available that could make this defrag a lot quicker. I promise to do my defrags on a more regular basis. Honest!:D Victor

Very recently I acquired the new CH Throttle Quadrant (multi-engine version). I am running it on a new HP pavilion, a640n, Athlon 64 processor and latest Radeon video card. CH Yoke and Pedals are also installed and have been running well. After successful calibration and before downloading and installing CH's new 3.5 Control Manager, I experienced the following problems:1. The two left levers (assigned in FS9 to throttles) advance throttles equally, but do not advance throttles to the full range.2. The two middle levers (assigned in FS9 to props) operate differently - the first (left) operates properly to the full range, and the second (right) operates within a restric…

I heard the new FS2004 patch causes some problems. I have FS2004 and I fly the 737NG and the CRJ. Everything now is perfect (before the patch) and I don't want to mess this up.Are there any problems known with the patch? 1 person on the Wilco forum reported some problems with the CRJ, but I think it was an isolated problem (no further data there)Thank You

Intel announced a new 1033 mhz (or is it 1133) FSB. Any idea how long this takes to make its way into systems for sale? And what difference will it make? 1/3 faster seems like it should be major...billg

I had previously been concerned about running an AMD2600 with a Front Side Bus (FSB) spec of 333 on a board with 266mhz FSB speed. No problem. However, the speed of the CPU is 1600 instead of 2600 as verified by two utilities. Also, at boot it shows AMD2000+ instead of the correct speed. The obvious concluson is that I need a new bios since the ECS web site says that the K7S5A V3.1 motherboard should run 2600 AMD XP cpus.Down loaded the latest bios and both the DOS and Windows flash utilities to update the BIOS. Problem is that neither utility works. The windows version comes up with a screen with some garbage at top center along with the Windows XP message to send/not se…

My CRT Monitor has seen better days :) Now I'm faced with the decision of whether to go TFT or stick with CRTs; I'm told that TFTs can 'stutter' when running games, in particular, Fs9. Has anyone got an opinion on this; is response time the key? Just a general opinion would be fine, if it gets too technical the moderator will have us out of here :) - then I might miss out on the opinion of none techies like myself.Ken,Somerset, Englandwizard01

The 8.07 Betas that ATI released a couple weeks ago are newer>drivers than the 4.10's. The 4.10's lack the 256MB fix>incorporated in the 8.07 Betas, and the latter has better AI>implementation.hi Greg, could you elaborate on the above quote concerning "the 4.10's lack the 256MB fix"?what does this mean? does this apply to the "X800" series cards only or to All ATI 256MB cards? thanks in advance for the info.happy flyin, FM

FolksI plan to upgrade my config.I currently have a Socket 754 MB and plan to buy one of these dual channel memory AMD 64+ for socket 939.I have 2 WD Raptors in RAID O config.Since the old and the new MB have basically the same chipset, do I have to re-install XP when I exchange the MB ? Does the new MB recognize the current RAID 0 setup ?I would like to avoid a complete re-install. Since the current system is my first RAID setup, I have no experience with such upgrades. Thanks a lotTSE

Hi all in the forum.I have lost the ability to fly any replays, the plane just sits where i left it and no replay occurs, and no decreasing time shows. I have removed the following ad ons in case it was related to those...thats FSINN and copilot, and realtime, and courseplanner. I also noticed when i run Ultimate traffic, it makes all the correct anouncements and reads the pc time clock, but does not show the times of arrivals and departures as it used to do, maybe the two problems are related. Hope i dont have to do a fresh install of fs9, oh fs9 update installed as well as xp sp2. any help is appreciatedJohn Calleja

When Im doing a flight, it seems that my Ch Pro Pedals all of a sudden goes full left deflection. SInce im relativly new to the Sim, I keep thinking im getting a huge cross-wind from the right. I spend have the time fighting the drift before I realize its my rudders on the fritz. Now that I think about it, I think its a gradual migration to full left deflection because eventually it goes from being difficult to impossible to fight the "drift". I have to pull the USB plug out then put it back in to get the rudders to go back to neutral and useabilty. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix? I dont have this problem on other games at all. It seems to take a…

So you know, the CH Throttle Quadrant is finally for sale.I got mine recently and it's a nice unit. Probably not as nice as the GoFlight stuff, but not the same price either. The idle detent on each axis is nice, and there's room for reversers below that. Works quite nicely.

I have made the gates appear in Fs2004, I am having a problem getting them correctly placed as in the correct heading and general location. I know you get the heading and imformation from Fs but those are the directions the aircraft and altitude the aircraft is in. When I do use the fs heading etc. I get the gate facing 90* off and placed exactly where the aircraft was sitting .I was wondering for those who have been messing with the program and adding gates is there a trick they have used to get good placement or do you just have to keep messing with it? :-wave
