Hi, I'm considering buying a Dell Ultrasharp 2407 monitor. The quoted refresh rates are 16ms black to white and 6ms grey to grey. Could anyone please tell me if these are adequate for fs and also if anyone has this monitor what is your opinion of it.Many thanks,Pete.

Ok I have some links (actually might have lost them) for OCing.The problem is I'm the type of guy who would prefer someone to sit next to me and teach me how to overclock. I am worried I screw something up if I just read some website.I want to OC...it sounds like a lot of fun....I have a AMD FX-57 cooler on my AMD3700. I know its not like a zalman or anything but it's better than 3700 stock cooler.I got a link to the extreme systems forum (thanks D17s)but couldnt find much thereAnyone know of a wel-laid out webpage or someone that could walk me through by phone or something? Hi all,It's been a while since I upgraded my graphics card for use with FS 9 and FSX, and I have to say that I don't think I'm nearly as literate on the subject as a lot of you out out there.I would like to see if I can beef up performance. I run a Pentium 4 3.4 GHz machine, with 2 Gigs of RAM and a Geforce 6600 GT PCI card.Any simple suggestions for an upgrade? Am absolutely baffled as to what the latest choices are. Hey all.Thanks for the great site. Lots of great people and content here. :)I own a CH Products Flight Sim Yoke, Pedals, and Throttle Quadrant. I've been trying for hours now to get FSX to read the throttles properly so when they click into reverse mode, it will do so in FSX as well. Other than that, they all work fantastic!Does anyone have any previous experience on how to make this work? I've completed all of the calibration modules and set the null zones accoridngly (I think).. When I click it in, there's a no change - it just stays at minimum forward throttle.Any help would be greatly appreciated!Keep on flyin'!PJ

Just got my rig up with Matrox and a fresh reinstall after a crash when it crashed again. this time I heard the dreaded ticking sound.So it wasn't DC pro that knocked out the raid drivers its a bad HD.This is the 3rd one in 18 months.I switched over to WD Raptors last time .What if anything can I be doing wrong to have 3 HD's die in such a short time?Any help or suggestions will be greatly apprecieated.Best regardsAndrewDamascus Pa

Hi,On my 2 year old system I have been using an ATI 9800 Pro video card with acceptable results. This card only has 128mb of memory so I have been looking for an alternative card with more memory that would last me until I can get a new system.I found a GeForce 6200 with 256mb of memory and expected some improvement. Boy was I surprised. My frame rate dropped to less than half of what I was getting with the ATI card. And that was just sitting still on the ramp (FSX). Nothing I could do helped so I reinstalled my ATI card.I don't know how the two cards are supposed to compare but I sure did expect better results with twice the memory. Just an observation here.Jim

I have a CH yoke that attaches to the side of the desk with clamps. I am wondering how the rest of you position your yoke. Hello, Anyone know of some good Force Feedback Rudder Pedals? I have the Microsoft Force Feedback Sidewinder Pro 2 been using the ole bugger for years now. Just need some good rudder pedals. Oh and any suggestions on the best place to purchase the Track IR-4 Pro? Hmmm.. If I get all that am I missing anything hardware wise?P.S. Still working with FS9... Will be getting FSX though. HiGot an issue with multiple graphic cards. My nvidia based pc has both motherboard based graphics and a pci express card. both support two monitors, so in theory I could run 4 monitors, though i've only currently got two.However I don't seem to be able to enable both at the same time. remove the pci express and the mother board video card jumps into life. put it back in and it's gone. I can't see anything in the bios that would account of it.lest you think i've gone mad, I want to use the two cards so I can spread the graphics load. As I understand it there are only two cards that support DX10 right now and the rest are supposed to be coming out in March?I have an ATI X1950 Pro which says that it's "Vista Ready." When I run dxdiag it says I'm running DX10 (at least on RC1 it did).I don't think my card supports DX10, and Vista appears to have shipped with DX10. I read in another post that FSX on Vista will only work with DX10 and a DX10 compatible card...What am I missing? Is the DX10 that is in Vista backwards compatible, and I'm really just getting the functionality of version 9c?Thanks,Jim

Hi all,I have been simming for about 7+ years and have always used a JOYSTICK..as I do now (Sidewinder). Now I am thinking about replacing to joystick with a CH YOKE..no pedals to start off with....so my question is, and put youself in my position if you would, would you chose to do it and does it make the simming expierance a little mor relistic. I was thinking of getting one, but...I've currently got a force feedback joystick and use FSForce -- which works well, giving a proper trimming operation. But the Yokes aren't force feedback. Is there any centring force?When you trim, what happens? And what happens in a real plane? You hold the yoke for a particular airspeed in a climb, turn the trim wheel, presumably the pressure comes off, but the yoke stays in the same position?Advice gratefully received.
