All,I recently purchased FSX. I have been flying since the Sublogic Sim days, and I figured I would try to stay with the times. I downloaded the demo and it looked great. HOWEVER, when I installed the Deluxed Version of FXS, it barely ran. Frame rates were barely at ten, and the screen would go black every time I changed views, cycled windows or even applied the brake. Hardware problem, I thought. I did a little research by contacting Microsoft. I have had a intermittent audio problem from the start with FSX. Sometimes, ATC repeats words. For example, it should say "United 777 climb and maintain, 15000. But what I hear is "United 777, climb and maintain, climb and maintain, 15000".My audio card is a Creative Sound Blaster, Audigy 2 ZS. I have downloaded latest drivers, but no help. Matt Fox, had published some information on reinstalling the Microsoft ADPCM Codec. I have tried that twice - no help. I wonder if this could be a (known) problem with my sound card? well, the subject header says it all. I just purchased an Logitech Attack 3 joystick and as of now I am completely unable to fly as the darn thing is so sensitive and twitchy that it makes hand flying any aircraft impossible...I have tried calibrating it and setting the sensitivites to 0 and the null zones to max but nothing seeems to work......do I need the registered version of FSUIPC ?? ...anyone out there who has had similar issues PLEASE give me soem feedback as to what could be causing these issues I am having with this joystick...thanks!!

I am not sure whether now is the right time for me to move over to a Windows Vista O/S from XP home. Granted, XP is old, slow and not without its problems, but I understand Vista, particularly the 64bit version currently has issues of its own.Ideally, I would like to hear from anyone running either FSX or FS9 (as I run both at home with WinXP) on a Vista O/S.Does it offer anything extra in terms of playability, quality etc? Hi all l`m currently having probelms with games and fs2004. when l fly in full mode its ok till l change from night time to day time the screen looks black. same with call of duty 2 when l get into the mission carn`t see anything just a brown sceen. but l can here it. l am using vista at the moment. any thoughts.? when l went to nvidia l downloaded the 8800 drivers. should l try something else.please help guys l`m at wits end. This is going to be quite difficult to explain so forgive me ifI make a hash of it.Before I had to format my drive and re-install everything I usedto be able to active a predefined set of views using active cameraby just clicking on options/active camera and the directory windowwould come up in my full screen simulator window, where I wouldselect the predefined views for the aircraft I was virtually flying.Since the re-install and re-activation of Active Camera I'm not ableto do this. Hi All,I'm planning a system update, and have decided on an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor. I'm now looking for recommendations for a good motherboard. My case is an ATX form, I will be using an PCI Express graphics card, probably a Geforce 7600GS w/512 mb, but I want the ability to upgrade to an 8800 at a later date. I use at least 7 USB ports, and will start with a single SATA drive, but may add additional drives later.Which chipset? Will the P965 be a good matchup? I run FSX on Vista 32.Have a saitek X52 and recently bought the Saitel Pro Pedals. Works a treat.To add to the realism id like to add a yoke, the one from CH products looks good (The on with the three controls on top).I like the throttle on the X52, so can I use the X52, pedals and Flight Yoke together. I take it you just need to assign the controls in FSX settings.Just need to check before I buy the Flight Yoke.

Hello all,I've got a problem with one of my two USB HUB's not being recognised after starting up my PC. I'll receive an error message similar to "USB hardware is not recognised" (in the local language), when trying to re-engage the USB Hub (plug-and-play, eh?). Trying to de- and re-install the USB cures the problem for only a short while. This is very annoying as half of my "toys" consequently are un-useable (see below). Any ideas what this could be? I've got an ATI/Sapphire 9800XT 512M card that a couple of years ago was $700 and pretty cutting edge. Now I find it's a bit dated, and the performance not so hot. I'm not looking to spend very much (around $150 or so) on my old system, just want to know if I can get a meaningful boost with something a little more current. Hi, am using a Nvidia Geforce FX5200. I have downloaded a Driver update 93.71.When I run the install wizard I get a message "one or more microsoft wizards are running close them to continue installing" and cannot complete the install !Have checked the Device manager and can find no wizards running, have tried closing as many services and virus scanner etc but to no avail. My old joystick died and I bought a Saitek AV8R-01. For the life of me I can't get the throttles to work. They are either wide open or closed. Have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I am getting a computer built for me, and am clueless on a couple of components, hopefully some of you can shed some light on what the smart choices would be:1.
