Can someone tell me if I can install only .NET Framework 3.0 and skip installing .NET Framework 2.0 and still have nHancer work? At the moment I only have .Net Framework 1.1 installed. In other words, does version 3.0 have all the necessary components for nHancer to function? The nHancer forum site is down, so I can't find out the answer there. I would like to save disk space by not installing .NET 2.0 if the later version will suffice. Also, does nHancer delete or modify your original driver's control panel? Any info. would be appreciated.Kim

My system specs are below. The ATI CCC software reports that my x1950 Pro card runs at about 44 degrees celcius after a couple hours of simming. Is that too hot? The card has it's own cooling fan. Thanks in advance to the group.

Hello,Currently I have a C2D6000, P5B Mobo,ATI 1900XT and 2 GIG of DDR2-667Ram. My question is would upgrading the ram from DDR-667 to DDDR2-800yield any kind of performance gain. My local computer store has a saleon OCZ DDR2-800 2 Gig with discounts for about $60. My current ram is Kingston.Never used OCZ before. Thanks,Helmut

All of a sudden the response to the movement on my CH yoke and Rudder have S_L_O_W_E_D_ drastically. Thought it might have been a new video driver so restored old one - no joy. Rebooted, checked device manager, checked event viewer, calibrated - nada. Finally, unplugged the USB connectors and plugged them back in, calibrated and voila - works fine!Just curious, anyone run into this before? (Moderator: I posted this in the FS2004 forum and not on the Hardware Discussion Forum so that it would reach the widest membership possible. My apologies if that decision was inappropriate.) Saitek has finally made an official announcement regarding the recent "phantom commands being sent by faulty switches" issue I and many others have been experiencing with their new flight sim yoke and throttle system that I originally discussed here:<< http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=29505 >>According to their support team, "After much investigation into this, it appears that this issue is not widespread at all. Hello everyoneAccording to Tom's Hardware, an 8800GTS with 320MB but a higher clock speed performs better than a regular 8800 GTS with 640MB on most games. Now, what is the expected behaviour on FSX? Do we really need 640MB of video memory? I am going to buy a new graphics card soon, and need to choose between a regular 8800 GTS with 640MB or a factory overclocked one with just 320MB. For most games, I understand the 320 choice is better unless I plan on using very high resolutions (which I don't, nothing above 1280x1024 for now). But what about FSX? any idea? Thanks

How does the AMD 5600 stack up against the Intel E4500 all other things the same? I've got to pick up an inexpensive second computer and was faced with these two processors. Mostly, which one is going to run FSX a little better without overclocking? Thanks in advance for any help.

Having used memstatus several times in various FSX scenarios, I have never seen usage figures higher than 61% for system memory and 44% for video memory, and that was at LGA where fps was 10/15 on the ground. I have a P4 3.46Ghz, 2gigs of ram and a 512mb ATI X1950Pro GPU. That just doesn't seem right!?? Or does it?Bruce

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and would like to hire someone to help me build a rig with the best processor, videocards, RAM, cooling systems, chipsets, etc. for FSX so I can perhaps save money that I would otherwise pay Dell, and learn how to do it so I can eventually do upgrades myself. Given my lack of knowledge about computers and limited time, I think I need someone where I live to help me step by step, rather than advice through the forum. I am an instrument rated pilot and part-owner of a Bonanza A36 and would certainly trade help building the rig for some right seat time. Many thanks, Bob

  13. I have a fairly new installation of FSX upgraded to SP1 running on Windows XP. This weekend I bough the new Saitek yoke as well as rudder pedals and an X52 stick. Whenever any of these items are plugged into the USB, FSX refuses to boot up. I get a quick flash as it tries then nothing. Remove them from the USB port and FSX starts fine. I can then plug them in and all is ok. Anyone any ideas?

I'm thinking about upgrading to a new machine with a Q6600 processor OC'd to 2.93 ghz. Currently have Radar Contact, Flightsim Commander, Active Sky and FDC networked to a client laptop via wideclient. I know that neither FS9 or FSX will use all the Q6600 cores but can the add-ons run on the unused cores so that I can eliminate the laptop but not suffer a performance hit.Any advice is appreciated.ThanksJeb

Monica Chen, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 9 October 2007]Nvidia is bringing forward the launch date of its upcoming GeForce 8800 GT (G92) GPU to October 29 from the original November 12, targeting AMD's new Radeon HD 2950PRO (RV670) as the major competitor, according to sources at graphics card makers. With G92 and RV670 having a tight performance/price ratio, Nvidia's earlier launch should give the company an advantage in the market, noted the sources. In addition to G92, Nvidia will also launch the G98 GPU to replace the GeForce 8600 series, however the launch date has not yet been set, added the sources.Source http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20071009PD207.html

Very different experience from XP. Questions...it's always asking questions :-)There will be, for me at least, a learning curve with Vista.bt

Hello,Right now, I have FS9 all on it's on in my D: drive and FSX with all the clutter on my C: drive. I wanted FS9 to run at max so I gave it it's own home. Now, since FS9 screams on my rig, I would like to swap places and put FSX into the D: drive all on it's own and FS9 into the C: with the clutter. Can I just drag and drop FS9 to C: and FSX to D: or will some "internal connections" or registry whatevers be disconnected? Thanks.
