If I viewed FS2004 on my "ViewSonic 22 inch P225f" monitor (CRT) with the resolution set at 1920 x 1200 would my screen look like the one in the Samsung? I can tell that "Mitch" realy, realy loves his new monitor (s) set at this resolution, but I did NOT like the way it looked. All of the textures were too small and "sharp", if you can believe that. I am nearsided and the screen looked like I was vewing it thru nearsided glasses that the Rx was way to strong. I did not like it. Then I pulled the res back down to 1600 x 1200 and to an extent, it was still too "strong". I then pulled the res back to MY normal veiwing setting of 1280 x 960 x 32 and all was well again. All o…

Hello, I have a Dell XPS M1710, T7600G, 2gig ram laptop with a Geforce 7950GTX card using Vista Ultimate. I was just wondering if it would be at all worth it to add another 2 gigs of ram or not for FSX? Thanks.

Someone asked me what my new build looked like around New York. If I've done it right, the attached should give some idea. I've included the framerate counter for those who think that it's important. Also a pix of my basic settings. Additionally I have AI set at 20% for Airline & General. Boats , cars, etc are set at 40%.You'll notice that I'm over 300kts at 1500 feet. I did this to test the blurries and/or stutters - there were none. I'm also in a sharp left bank which seems to cause more stress on the graphics. If the pix come out right you should see no blurries. For the framerate junkies - it's smooth at those frames and if I climb higher they increase.Only thing t…

If I were to take FSX off my C drive (two 150GB Raptors in RAID0) and put it on a dedicated 7200RPM 500GB drive, would you expect frame rates to increase, assuming everything else is left as is?

I have a 7900GTO card running nvidia 91.37 (I think that's the version). They work great. But I am wondering if there's any further frame rate boost to be had from installing the latest WHQL 162.18 drivers or the beta 163.67 drivers. I think I read of FSAA issues with the 162 drivers so I am not feeling too confident about that. Any views, advice, suggestions, welcomed, thanks!JS

I seem to have a memory leak in the area of the borders of Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy etc., in otherwords in or near the alps. I can run task manager while flying those areas and watch the memory dissapear so that in about 15 min. I've used up almost all my 2Gb. of physical memory and 2.5 Gb. of virtual memory (it's set for 4 Gb.), then things start coming to a halt...naturally. I really don't have any memory problems with the computer otherwise.Today I was running Filemon in this area to see if anything obvious came up there. Other than searching the world over for files the main thing I discovered it was putting lots of energy into searching VOZ files for so…

I think multi monitors are just great for FS9. I seem to like the VC view the best as it shows the plane parts out the side views as well.Couple of questions:1) Any way to save the VC view alignment adjustments? I find when I save a 3 monitor VC setup the side views reset to default on load.2) Any way to fine tune adjust the side views, I use the hat on the joystick but its a coarse adjustment, where I never can get it just right.3) Anyone using a 8800 as part of a multi setup, I'm getting no AA with it when 3 monitors are used, even using nHancer that works with a dual setup?4) Has anyone documented a method of how to get perfect alignment. I'm using VC, with zoom, pan …

Hi,I haven't used fs in a couple of years due to a slow system. I own fs9, and am considering fsx.I've read a bunch of the hardware stuff, and my head is a bit overloaded with all of it.I'm currently building a new system, but the motive here is work, not gaming (I do 3d visualization stuff, so its not just word and excel).I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on whether fsx will run acceptably on this machine:Win XP680i sli motherboard500gb sata3 hd4gb ddr2 ramGeForce 8500 GT / 512MB DDR2 (just 1, not 2)Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40GHzThanks for any thoughts or advise

  18. When considering an upgrade I can stay with my current AGP mb or a new PCI-E board. For example a ATI X1950PRO exists in otherwise identical forms in both AGP and PCIe version. So I wonder how much difference in performence makes AGP vs PCIe?

  22. This is getting to be a royal hassle anymore. I used to enjoy building new machines, but after so many years of doing it, I am tired. It's mind-numbing looking at all this new hardware that's constantly changing. Hi all,Can anyone suggest a good method or if it is even recommended to try overclocking the CPU. It's easy with a a graphics card, like the ATI but I have done a little reading and overclocking the CPU looks to be a little more involved.I see there are some freeware utilities etc to use.For those of us trying to squeeze every drop of power out of their aging systems this may be an option. I read for example that you can get a normal 3ghz up to 3.6 or more GHz. This seams like a great way to power up? Since FS9 is CPU based and not video card based?

I'm sorry for this ignorant question, but I have searched up and down, and I can't figure out what XP DSP OEI w/multiple MUI means. Can anyone please help? Thanks,Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
